Redstone wiring is easy once you get the hang of it. I mad a house with retractable staircases, couches and a hidden doorway. Not only that, but I also made a working shower and toilet. And a bookshelf which conceals a sacrificial alter.... I sacrificed so many sheep. lol

Really a better way to do a lock like this would be to connect an AND gate to an XOR gate so the door can be opened from either side and locked inside

Use an XOR gate with a lever on the outside and inside. Then make a lock with a second lever on the inside, that goes to the inverters of the XOR gate. If you power the switch, there comes power on the redstone before the 2 inverters. That will mean that the power cant go off. So the inverted part cant go on. And if that cant go on, the door cant open. Piece of cake. Or just watch my video, ignore the dutch commentary, and see it yourself. :)

@IHaydz You can do that with pistons. If a piston is active, it will hold back water or lava, so you could wire up a pressure plate to turn off a torch to deactivate the piston, which will flood the room.
