@CQ1981331 I'll give simon and matt that the simpson have gone this far and congrats to them. That said the show and writing just don't seem as funny, but thats kinda like all shows, it's lost its steam. Plus simon has a whole staff to write things sal just has his life partner richard :P
Who are all of these stupid fucking people that don't understand that 100 is average intelligence, and that it's not a setback to be average intelligence.
The major criticism with IQ tests, is that it is not a complete measure of a persons intelligence. There are several different types of intelligence, social, musical, physcial, creative that your standard IQ test does not test for. These types of intelligence are hard to measure, so the standard IQ test does not include them. I would argue that Sals creative intelligence score would much higher than BaBa Booeys
@spockmcqueen, your points are valid however one thing I'd like to point out is that standard iq tests traditionally, but not always, have questions based on learned knowledge. This is also BS because people focus their time and energy into other fields that aren't tested. A better form of an IQ test would limit the test to problem solving abilities like the mensa test supposedly does.
@HGeneAnthony Properly designed intelligence tests are free of cultural and educational bias (like learned information). The WAIS, (most popular test in the US), devotes only a small section to general knowledge. Point values for that section are so minimal that they rarely effect overall performance scores. The Raven's Matrices (measures abstract reasoning) doesn't even require reading and writing skills. U might be thinking of online tests--most of which are poorly designed and bogus
@spockmcqueen Professionally administered and standardized intelligence tests are only measuring raw intelligence. Nobody has ever claimed they measure something else (like music appreciation, sense of humor, etc). However, raw intelligence does correlate with abilities that are valued in most developed cultures like the US (problem solving, logical reasoning, visual-spatial skills, etc).. I don't understand why people criticize IQ tests for things that the tests never claim to measure
If that there score theyre grading their own tests
