Google "Un Cambio Para La Paz" on Facebook, it has been created to promote getting involved, inform the public what the American/Mexican War on Drugs is, and to raise awareness on the violence that is happening in Mexico, The City of Juarez, and U.S. border Towns and Cities. We believe being informed about the happenings of this War and people suffering from its effects, is the first step to help stop it.
Obama we nominate Dr. Nadelmann, for Drug Zar. Makes sense America, we need to begin to make a lot more sense than what we are now doing. This War on Drugssssss, IIIIS crazy!!!ooooooooooooo
Yes yes yes! I'm tired of people saying that "marijuana" is a drug. It isn't. THC is a drug. Likewise, beer and cigarettes are not drugs, whereas ALCOHOL and NICOTINE *are* drugs.
cannabisisgood420, many drugs come from plants, cocaine from the coca plant, heroin from poppies, asprin from wood bark, LSA on wheat mould, the list goes on. The definition of a drug does not say anything regarding whether the chemical is created in a synthetic or natural way. I am sure that it would be possible to create THC in a lab then sprinkle it on some combustible material, by your logic would that then qualify as a drug?
Best i can tell, just three aims are the root of the drug war agenda.
1)PROFIT- It creates a highly predatory industry that thrives by the creation of crime, violence and wealth at the expense of human life
2)THOUGHT CONTROL. To prevent one from claiming one's right to cognitive liberty. The laws remove idealists from mainstream society by using it as a litmus test for dissent. Is the right to your own thought processes yours or the government's?
However I honestly don't believe drugs will EVER be decriminalized unfortunately. The U.S. Government is too hard headed to admit they made a mistake by making drugs illegal.
Well done, Tony! Change starts at the most basic level. So the quickest way to affect our leaders is to start from the ground up. Start with your elected town or county officials.
dude straight up. Our government needs to change it's ways. I recently got busted with pot at my school. Now I have to do drug tests for a year and probably have no chance at being able to live a normal life again due to the fact that everyone I know or have met knows about my drug use and looks at me in a different way. Now my chances at getting a good a job and living a normal life are slim to none.
Nobody lives a "normal life" fuck normal life man you have suffered a sting of the war on some drugs, what happened to you is unfair and horrible but it could be worse.
Those who look at you in a different way are ignorant and/or stupid so FUCK THEM dont ever let what happened bring you down.
I agree that the drug war makes things worse however most drugs are extremely destructive. People need to know the effect that drugs can have on their lives. I went to a teen center for three years and I have seen the effects that drugs have on people many times.
but if they legalized weed alot of people would stop doing illegal drugs because whats the point of going to jail for something like coke when they can have just as much fun smoking pot, which is no where as much destructive as alcohal.
we need to just focus on legal MJ for now. We need to figure our our nations Marijuana problem First in order to figure the problem with the rest of the drugs. Incarceration isnt the answer.
Drug policies almost everywhere were never based on common sense really. It's based on fear mongering scare tactics and the morality of the christian right.
People killing each other on street corners for weed? Maybe in a town derived of addictive drugs. I've had a friendly relationship with all of my dealers.
LOL, very glad that we in holland have a very nice druglaws, hey wtf, drugs are very common here, but we have less adicts and drug related violence, he weird hey, start thinking avout your laws, they don't make sence...
Man, this is so wrong. Is this guy really trying to convince the public that drugs are ok? Medical marijuana is the ONLY excuse, but to smoke pot that impares judgement to have some "fun" is dead wrong. Say no to drugs ok..
Closing your eyes impares you too. should we make closing your eyes illegal?
Obviously not. We just make intentionally imparing yourself in dangerous situations (like while driving, operating machinery, etc.) illegal. Why shouldnt people smoke pot if they feel like it, in the privacy of their own home?
who cares if your judgement is impared if you're in your living room watching TV?!
"Drug Abuse is bad. The drug war is worse." I think that sums it up right there. Let's stop imprisoning people for an illness and let's open the dialogue that focuses on understanding and treatment.
this is the most irresponsible, brainless, irrelevant, and moronic video I have ever seen. Whatever becomes legal becomes abused more fequently. I believe we can't stop the war on drugs but we can fight drugs from getting into the reach of feebleminded children who will easily abuse it. You must not have kids.
irrelevant? our drug war costs over $50 billion a year. that is yours and my tax dollars. What ever stays illegal creates a black market of people willing to do anything for money, if a kid goes into a store to by beer or cigs the clerk should check ID but someone who is already breaking the law isn't going to worry about selling to someone underage.
some people just can't get this simple idea. Your KIDS CAN BUY IT NOW! Their are no control over these drugs and a dealer dose not care how old a person is.
If heroin was legal tomorrow would you do it, neither would I. Think about you next comment and don't just spout out government propaganda
some do care about age, though it is rare. a crack dealer used to live next to me who refused to sell to kids even asking for just marijuana, nevermind crack
Some critical feedback on issue number 6. Using marihuanna is better than useing heroin.
Yeah yeah yeah, good better best. You can't compare apples and oranges. You even mention heroin user quiting... I understand you try to persuade the public for better drugs policy, but you try to make your point stigmatising heroin users. That's not good.
5 cigatretes a day is better than 20. Than maybe a gram of heroin a day is better than 3 gram?
Better for who? obviously not better for the heroin user/abuser (in her/his opinion), better for the dealer who will get to sell the other 2 grams, better for who goddamnit!?!?.
Thank God for this. Biggest problem with drugs is no one knows anything about them. Most drugs have ridiculously exaggerated dangers attached to them and there is little or no information on drugs that can be harmful, such as meth. EDUCATE EVERYONE! erowid.org, drugwardistortions.org, ect.

drugs are not prohibited because a gouvernment wants to protect the society. it's all about MONEY and controlling people.
ON EVERY SINGLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ARE CUSTOMS OFFICIALS INVOLVED IN DRUG TRAFFICKING!!
ALL OVER THE WORLD GOUVERNMENT IS INVOLVED IN MAFIASHIT AND DRUGTRAFFICKING. even on top:
the worstest DRUGS (alcohol, nicotin, medication...) are legal and sold to the benefit of corrupt systems.
