I'm sorry, I might not be a huge expert on the matter, but I noticed no actual granular synthesis in this. Granular synthesis consists of broken beats and audio objects with lengths of a tenth of a second or shorter strung together in 'clouds' of sound- I did not hear anything of the sort...
no thats relay abstract granular synthesis.. i mean you can crate a granular synth by tacking a small snipet of audio lopping and pitching it up and down to create notes...
@AEFic there are a few different techniques to granular synthesis. You can use grains to create drones like this. even pad sounds. pitch synchronous granular synthesis, look it up.
It's tagged "experimental" but is it? I'm afraid abstract montages set to ambient drones is no longer envelope pushing. Thats what happens when you set out to create something experimental by taking on the external trappings of experimental cinema without the core motivation to reinvent your art. Still, it's not a bad video, and many of the shots are clever and show promise. Can't give it 5 stars though... to "art school" :-P

thats not granular synthesis. its hardly even recogniseable that youve used granuar synthesis to compose this, i could do the same thing with white noise and a flute. go back to college and study up.
