  • My Father is friends with the guitarist Jag Tanna

  • is that angry birds that i hear at the start of the video?

  • @idoleternal yea i checked the site right after i posted that. I never thought i would see the day but it has actually come. I been spreading the word about this reunion since i found out.

  • Great song but terrible video. I've read the interpretations and they are interesting, but the video is way too slow and boring.

  • i like this song but the story is going straight over my head... What is the video about????

  • @TheConquistador7 I think it's about someone who feels distanced or jaded. The lyrics kinda suggest this and the fellow taking out his trash seems so distanced from everyone else in the video. I think No Coma refers to how he feels numb or indifferent towards either other people or everything in general. Don't be sad though, the lyrics suggest it's just a phase! I think we have all felt like this at one point or another.

  • @GreeneMachine23 : I think it's suggesting about someone who committed a murder with the dead body of someone in the garbage bag. It's a bit sick actually. :)

  • @GreeneMachine23 :

Like when someone really good and clean as the guy in the video suddenly snaps and does a killing spree that turns into a serial killing. this vid maybe showing that killer inside each of us...

  • Amazing band....2 bad they split....long ago lol

  • Rayban clubmaster geek or hipster?

  • One of the best bands I ever saw live....

  • @FullChokeMedia You lucky mother :D

    (...earth)

  • @FullChokeMedia definatly, saw em and worked with em on a few occasions, great guys for real.

  • I've watched this video 20 times (no exaggeration at all) and still don't get it...

God damn this song is gnarly though!

  • @SocialistFish It's a true story! Dude took his garbage out and got into the car!

    It's true!

  • @SocialistFish The fact that it took you 20 times to get the joke, is an EPIC story of FAIL. ; )

The dude's smile at the end, is the punchline.

  • @Poseidon500 is that it?

damnit... i feel so let down :( I had a much better story in my head!

  • Anyone heard about these guys getting back together for a tour? I heard a while ago they wanted to try making another album on some radio network, but nothing since...

  • newfoundland rules... this song rules... i miss ime

  • Ever time i hear this song it keeps inspiring me to write music. The cover song i did for this came out pretty great, kinda want to do another now lol

  • Nailed it

  • Great song on a great album from a great band.

  • When it comes to waste disposal- this dude doesn't fuck around

  • @TheDrummer424 A-effin-men bro.

  • This song is just......INCREDIBLE...

  • every album with IME is great! but DIG is easily the best (one of my absolute favorite album of all time)!! I mother earth 4ever!!!

  • When i heard this song, it stuck instantly. I downloaded it from google then I wrote a cover song to it.

  • @o3zero3 man if you could send me the chords to this song it would be much appreciated.. cant find them anywhere

  • It seems like this guy is a murderer and that the bag contains a body, but I think it's simply that he suffers from paranoia and doesn't want to leave the house. He smiles at the end because he overcame it.

  • Yeah, such a great song on such a great/underrate CD.

  • why cant i download this song on frostwire??????

  • Comment removed

  • wicked video!! out with the trash and forward...

    thanks for posting thumbz!!

  • don't really know why many people find this song to be depressing,t's about waking up and realizing that life is a dream(no coma)

  • this song is fuken crazy

  • the singer is from newfoundland

  • check out THE WRONG PLANET on myspace!!!!

  • Someday I'll line up everyone out there

    In a late day sun

For one deep and final breath...

  • "I'm facing up and reaching out."

"Red face that hides in nervous hands"

  • I disagree with a lot of these posts. to me its one of the most passionate songs they've released. maybe different from their regular style...but in a good way. it seems to remove that detached feeling and really grind into you. like bloody cheese grater

  • IME fans.. I love this band so much..Scenery and fish is unbelievably good, . Dig is perfect in you blow my mind..blue green orange, my least favorite, but still awesome and tqmd is awesome..i i hate the title of the album. Iget lost in IME lyrics they are phenomenal ..and just the oter day Brian Byrne gave me my tatoo..we had a sweet chat talked about the band.... its not looking good for a reunion, just their label dropped them after TQMD because they didnt write a popular style album...

  • This is my favorite song from this CD (saying as much for the people that are saying it's their least favorite song on the CD). Great CD all around though Scenery and Fish is my fav of theirs. I do wish they were still making music.

  • I dont think this song is bad but to me it's missing something; it's like this would be a great song to put on low and play in the background, but not really listen to.

Even halfway through I realised I wasn't even paying attention really, and usually when I listen to IME I'll sing along or something.

I dunno, this one just didn't do it for me.

  • Seems like IME always picks the worst songs as singles from their albums: like the sun and this one are the only 2 that I dont listen to on tQMD, Raspberry and OM Astronaut are my last choices on Scenery, WDYGBFM is a great ballad, but most ballads are shite; Whenever I listen to Rain Will Fall I usually fast forward to the middle part, Not Quite Sonic is great, but the buildup is too long (most listeners are ADD). good ones are used to be alright, All Awake, Summertime, levitate, and So Gently

  • worst song on one of the best albums of all time

  • 100% agree with you. This is a good song though, its just way too depressing, but I think it proves the talent that this band has to write a song as powerful as this considering its not even their roots.

  • I Miother Earth are one of the best bands to come out of Canada. Looks like they didn't spend a big budget on this vid though..just some guy walking outsdie to put his garbage out in slow motion lol

  • The f*ck?!? When did IME become Theory of a Nicklefault?

I'm going to go listen to Dig the entire way through to purge this out of my memory.

  • umm.....this song was on one of the best CDs I have EVER heard. Trust me...listen to this CD...

  • @365daysgone whats it called

  • @redy2shootu

    The Quicksilver Meat Dream.

  • @365daysgone its true.... brillllliant album

  • Comment removed

  • @365daysgone - if you're referring to QSMD, I absolutely agree, this is probably one of the most underrated albums in a long time.

  • @365daysgone that's the problem they don't listen; people have the attention spans of chihuaha's these days!!!

  • @365daysgone that's ok tho, sometime we'll line up everyone under the late day sun for one deep and final breath.........

  • @365daysgone it was a awesome cd wish IME would do another one :(

  • @cxtreme69 Guess what? They are back together :D

  • @jimi1180 bull they are. I dont think the Tanna brothers will ever get the band back together.

  • @cxtreme69 No, I'm serious bro! They are legit back together! Go to their website!

  • @cxtreme69 you thought wrong, check their website, check the venue's website, its happening, its been WAY WAY too long since these guys have rocked our faces

  • @cxtreme69 LOL They are together as of JAn 24, 2012. doing 2 shows in Toronto

  • Amazing song - love you guys.

  • This singer sucks! Edwin was sooo much better

  • One of my fav IME songs. I will never tire of listening to BGO and QSMD. It makes me sad that they're no longer together... I miss them so much!!

  • I had read that Jagori is a bit of a control freak creative wise.. that it was pretty much his way or no way.... and that was why Edwin left.

I love IME though.. both singers.. really great stuff.

  • You and be both brother...miss IME both Edwin, and Brian era.

  • Couldn't help but notice your comment, 3 months later. Speaking of eras, do you think that when the 90's retro fad comes around soon, there will stuff like this in the charts again? Or will there just be some watered down approximation? As far as bands go, I'd like to think that a few gems would make it through all the nonsense.

  • this is from 2003

  • Whoops. Well pointed out.

  • i wish they would get back together with either lead singer i own all there albums

  • Dizzer the reason they broke up is that bruce and brian weren't getting enough creative input, so they broke up. Trust me on this, Bruce is my uncle.

  • I know both Bryan and Christian, and Chris is fine playing Brian's stuff, so I am not sure of that comment. Bruce is an amazing bass player and what Jag was writing fit him perfectly.

  • bruce is your uncle holy shit hes an amzing bassist production is the most amzing bass song ever

  • this is the first time i've heard this song. and i love IME

  • check out Muse and Queens of the Stone Age, all quality stuff, check out Ciipher also..lol, my band ;) IME, huge influence

  • i cant figure out why they broke up after Brian, he was the perfect fit.

    Man they were awesome

  • they broke up because their label tried to presure them to make more raido friendly songs and they refused and thus had no one backing the abulm and no they are no more....its really quite sad

  • And yes this song is good but with the talent that the original lineup had they could have replaced there singer with a bar of soap and it would have sounded great.

  • When IME went away, I tried to find a temporary replacement, resulting in serious disappointment. The best replacement for the loss is to go back and discover all the things you've missed before. QSMD has helped me through some serious bullsh*t in my life. It's my bible.

  • A terrificly underrated album. QSMD is, by far, one of the best Canadian albums of the last 10 years.

  • not surprising that some of you have no attention span at all. No, this video isn't about a funky acid trip in the desert or exploding limbs or whatever you clowns look up on you tube. At least this video has a point. I'll admit, i resented this song when I heard it for being too drawn out and dramatic. Now I catch myself singing this song when Im driving, but I never sing anything off Dig. I love the old stuff, but before scenery, they didn't catch my attention the way the new stuff does

  • Does anyone here know any good funk-metal bands that are kind of like IME? I know like RHCP, Janes addiction, and I guess Alien Ant Farm, but I dont think theyre as good as IME.

  • rage against the machine

  • Continuing I Mother Earth without Edwin was complete and utter saccrilige, period. Scenery and fish is easily one of the most underrated albums ever.

  • disagreed, Quick Silver Meatdream is easily one of the most underrated. :P

  • You do realize that Edwin just sang the words of Christian and the melodies of Jagori, right?

  • You cant comare this musical style to the original IME. If you like it then good for you. But my god, please dont insult the instrumental and vocal miracle that Dig and Scenery and Fish were. Theres a whole lot more I could say but I think I'd rather not type anything than have to read another rediculous email and have my hair fall out.

  • tell everyone i'm numb............

  • i miss IME :(

  • Listening to this album right now and this song blows me away every time.

  • I fink its realy good. Sounds like a perfect circle o corse not so good. But im gonna remember them. Jup

  • This video kinda creeps me out. haha

i always thought that, buddy, was a murderer!

anyways, LOVE IT! the music, the video, the album!

    all great,

  • i want to be positive about IME but knowing how they started out i just CANNOT accept this at all

  • how did they start out? what do u mean?

  • I think what he means is with Edwin. They were a pseudo-grunge, prog-rock band. And now, or were, a little more psych-rock. I'm still a huge fan.

  • ya you know what, so am i. I always used to be an Edwin IME purist but man their new shit with Byrne is sick too. Very good lyrics. I'm guessing the same guy writes them as before(jagori tana.) I JUST got what this video is about.

  • this song hits home. we need more 90's bands today. kind of sad

  • Thank You for uploading this...

  • this songs about living a comatose in the waking world, like being jaded and depressed... and the day till you snap out of it. this track is recklessly badass and emotive

  • whats this song about

  • with Brian it sounds too creedy for me

  • IME is all Jag Tanna and Jag only. Edwin was great, Brian was a decent change and nice fit but the greatness of the band was all Jag.

  • dude no what about Bruce's crazy funk bass licks? Or Christian's insane drumming on dig especially? They're all excellent musicians

  • Yeah that's true, I like how they use their bass more the most bands do. But I was saying the musical direction was mostly Jag. But your right, they are all awesome musicians

  • DITTO.

  • I love IME's music but I always thought their videos were terrible

  • This band will always be one of my favorites! Unfortunately in Germany hardly anyone knows them! They have to come back and continue!

  • I remember seeing this video on MUCH and thinking it was the most heroic song I have heard in my life until this point. Still today, it is in my top 3 of favourite songs. Although old IME was good, they truly started defining themselves with Quick Silver Meat Dreams, to bad the music industry raped them.

  • IME was way better with Edwin. Edwin quit to pursue his solo career and Brian got fired from the band.

  • this is an awesome song....and IME was thee most underrated band (here inthe USA)..I MISS THEM!!! Jagori is sooo amazing..esp loving the 'hawk...

  • IME was Canadian, and as sad as this sounds, sometimes that limits US success for bands.

  • I was fortunate enough to hear So Gently We Go several times on my local rock station here in Florida back in the mid nineties. Jaq's guitar intro and extro on that song really tuned me in. Dig and Scenery and Fish are still two of my favorite rock CDs ever.

  • i COMPLETELY agree..thats why its soo sad...but i tried to support the hell outta them..only so much one person could do, back in the day BEOFRE the internet! lol

  • The video and song is about having anxiety and paranoid disorder, the guy is scared to go out of his house so him having to take the garbage out is a huge problem to do.

  • I don't get it, was he just taking out the trash the whole vid?

  • i love i mother earth but i have always hated this song and video, i is us should have been released instead.

  • i went on a random hunt for a about 2 weeks for this video like... 2 years ago and i never found anything. and then tonight i randomly think about it and here it is! fucking LOVE this song, and it does suck that they basically dropped off the face of the earth. the singer has solo stuff though, not like IME at all though.

still... great video and super happy to have finally found it.

  • IME = amazing

this song means alot to me

  • @crallow i know what u mean sometimes mainstream can ruin things also IME sorta stayed in the underground area

  • one of my favorite albums is quicksilver meat dream.

and im kinda glad it's not that popular, it's kind of like a hidden gem. in my opinion.

  • OOOhhhh... What IS in the bag? I just need to know,

gosh, what an emotional cliffhanger, what was wrong with him blah blah... bleck.

What happened to rockin dreads in the middle of the desert?

That made me want to headbang, all this makes me want to do is bang my head.

  • this is the worst IME video I've ever seen. Even the whole bag wiggling thing at the end wasn't enough to make me a fan of this video. Used To Be Alright makes this one look like a joke. Big fan of IME, not a big fan of this video.

  • Seeing as you love the Jovi so much, I wouldn't expect you to understand this video or song. The bag "wiggling" at the end is the wind blowing against it, look at the grass around it..it's "wiggling" too... WHOA! what's happening!!!

  • that's hilarious

  • Hahahaha i kinda thought it was

  • Great strong, oddly compelling video. It's just some guy taking out the trash, but I can't help but watch. O_o

  • i love and miss IME

  • back in the 90's music wasn't as carbon copied as it is nowadays...fave 90's I mother earth songs: LEVITATE, not quite sonic,(94ish) 1MOREASTRONAUT, sunday,raspberry,pisser('96) and good for sule '99 and total agreement with harptree the'scenery and fish' album was the shite!! i can't belive that some of you guys were in kindergarten when i got into music..holy frik i'm old!! Xp

  • really weak song off an otherwise solid album.

  • Was This song really famus a while in the late 90's or something? couse i think i've heard it before.. Maybe its becouse their music is Psycodelic that they dident get so famous, but all i've heard with them has been great though..

  • this song wasnt out in the late 90's. Psycodelic? Ha

  • I like their stuff with Edwin but I think the later stuff like this is their best. I don't know though, their sales/popularity seemed to go down the crapper when in my opinion their music kept growing. It's too bad they never really made it big outside of their Canadian popularity.

  • 3:49 - 3:56, proof positive that the B-man is above Edwin! I'm not saying Edwin's a bad singer, just come on, listen to this guy!

  • I've been looking for this vid for a while.. I've had the song stuck in my head for ever..Very catchy, good band <3, good song<3

  • Man these guys were tha shit. They had everything on Scenery with Edwin. Jag still one of my fav's. Earth...Sky...and Sea...

  • billy talent?

  • These guys were playing the Opera House when Billy Talent was still crapping in their hands and rubbing it on their face.

  • true story has something to do with a guy named Christopher Donald... beyond that i can't help you...

  • awesome fuckin song

  • Nice. Big IME fan right here, but I never had a chance to see this video before. Thank God for YouTuve.

  • lovethis song SOO much. too bad they vanished ><

  • Man, I wish that these guys were still around... I love them. They filmed enough footage for a live DVD once... they should totally release it.

  • I am glad to see there are people like me suffering due to the absence

  • not many people comment on good songs anymore.

they comment on crap like justin timberlake.

  • I Mother Earth, the BEST band that never made it.

  • Awesome song, but what is this video about? "Based On A True Story"? I'm so confused!

  • how come nobody has commented, this song is awsome
