Dude, google "slave midden". Everyone was eating raccoon before the chain supermarkets. Last time I was there, there wasn't a single chain grocery within the city limits. Matter of fact, lots of country folks eat raccoon, where you find them. Try it!

@SuperWoody69 There aren't any chain grocery stores, but they are about 138 independently owned grocery stores in a city with roughly 140 square miles. That means there is one grocery store per square mile.

The idea that Detroit is a food desert is a myth perpetrated mostly by people who haven't lived here.

Exactly, they give so much aid to Foreign Countries, and have Tele-thons and have Celebs raising millions of dollars, but the US can do absolutely nothing for one of its own states! So much for "United" huh????? I'm just sayin!
