So the event ended few seconds ago. My favorites were (and always will be) Aliona and Robin but I cheered for the Chinese couples to place good. I have all the respects for them and I'm glad they could beat the Russians and after many years, a non-Russian couple won the event.

I was indeed impressed with the heartfelt performance of Aliona and Robin of Germany at the 2010 Olympics, especially their LP. I don't normally notice the male skater as much as the female but in their case, Robin's skating possesses the grace and sensitivity that is a rarity among male pairs skaters. Will you be uploading their Olympic LP?

And given the quality of the European Championships last month, I am not betting on any pair from Europe to stand on the podium, although if S&S skate cleanly they can be a considerable threat. The zhangs did well in korea (4cc) - a nice recovery from a dismal season. Pang & Tong will surely come out strong too. Will this be an all-china affair? Could be!

Oh, come on, European couples are really capable of fighting for medals there, nevermind the results from Tallinn, this is gonna be a whole new event! I'd be very surprised if S/S ended up lower than 3rd, they're fighters, no way they're not gonna do their best - and with their best, they can even be the champions. Besides, I really hope the artistic side will play its part and here the European teams are a class better than the Chinese.
