  • amazing. no words for something this special. im amazed there still so talented people in this world!

    keep

  • Top Banana! I saw them early 80's Paris theatre London concert for BBC - They were mind blowingly good - one of the tightest bands I have ever seen/heard - great upload

  • Fuckin AWSOME!!

  • @magicbus144

Yeah man its fucking cool brilliant performance!

  • Great!

  • HMMMMM!!! =))

  • Now that's 'Watt' I call a rhythm section! I saw the Blockheads a lot, especially in the early days and what a great, great band they were. Every gig was an event, real musicians, real performers and with a frontman you just couldn't take your eyes off. Every time I saw them I went home buzzing. Fantastic upload, thanks a lot!

  • Brutal !!

  • ian didnt like the sax performance

  • @ApollyonAbaddon

    Bullshit, he loved it.

  • Bass plays Leed... all the way.

  • song hit forever

  • how far ahead of it's time is that... WOW!

  • Playing two saxophones at the same time is pretty badass!

I can't even get a tone out of one. :P

  • FANTASTIQUE!!!!!

  • Great Band!

  • I remember seeing them on MTV when they actually played music videos,....LoL LOVE Ian Dury and the Blockheads!

  • sooooo cool at 2:36

  • Wow...fucken freaks.

    What an amazing groove.

Those musos went to top gun academy

  • I bought this single when it was released. Loved it! It's only now (26 years later) that I realise what an incredible band the Blockheads were. There have been very few bands that could sustain a groove like this (and most were led by Prince or Frank Zappa). Unbelievable performance - there really was magic in the air that night.

  • actually love ian when he s in his crazy mood like in these vids <3 its him at his best ! xD RIP ya legend <3 <3 <3

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thx

  • Fat as hell bass line, should be number 1in all bass players charts.

  • Oh my God. What a band, I mean what a band. Is it possible to be too good?

  • Not as good as the original, but one of the very few records that sounds good recorded outside of its original form. Not quite sure what's going on with Dury's voice, however.

  • davey payne fucking legend what a sax player!!!

  • This is one of the highest quality 80's videos I have yet seen on YouTube! This quality is so high, it could've been made yesterday with some seriously professional equipment. Great upload!

  • Excellent quality HOLLYwoodgoesFRANKIE. Right on!!

  • wow... where did you get a copy of this quality it was only released on VHS. I directed and co produced (with Anita Staines RIP) at Hammersmith Odeon. Exec. Producer Chips Chipperfield (RIP).

I was only 24 at the time but I should have got more of Norman Watt Roy playing that bass line. I was sick with nerves all day before the gig.

  • what's better than 1 saxophone?

    2 fucking saxophones!!!!!!!! badass!

  • @ronniepooch check out Rahsaan Roland Kirk.

  • where are the towels? there's fucking sweat everywhere!

  • Killer!

  • much faster than the original studio version, just shocking stuff. Norman sticks out from the blockheads in fact in my opinion he makes the blockheads. with Ian and the rest of course......

  • @derrymadness And with Chaz, Charlie, Mick, Wilco and Davy they have to be one of the top bands that came out of England

  • Freakin love it, love this band.

  • me re cabe la onda de este chabon. y la banda mata tambien.

  • Thanks for the upload ! It´s good to be able to enjoy from a distant place as Uruguay the power and virtuosity of the blockheads

  • @kudillo Im half latin... I knew this song like 4 days ago, was play on Much! as an especial and I just like it, this video is great. Saludos de Canada ;D

  • Amazing version! What is the line-up here?

  • Outstanding - Dury was a visionary and remarkable man sadly missed. I was 14 when punk and new wave hit. Fantastic times. Sadly doomed to the dustbin of rememberance. No Future - Simon Cowell

  • Can you please upload We want the Gold and Sweet Gene Vincent in this quality. PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, i will be eternally grateful.

  • superb
