I bought one 2 years ago. I couldn't play it at all. The body and neck are completely out of balance and the tone is weak to say the least. The worst thing was that 2 airlines refused to take it on board - hardly a TRAVEL guitar. Luckily, I found someone who wanted one and I almost got my money back.
This is nice but check out Voyage Air Guitars. It is a really nice full size acoustic that is about 1/4 the price of the Blackbird! I own one myself....

@ItalianoAmericano that's interesting!! I never tried a small ovation ( despite not being 100% made of wood I love ovation guitars) I will try one as soon as possible, thanks!!
@ItalianoAmericano I have a tatylor 2 martins 2 fylde 1 Morris and 1 guild..they are real acoustics..but this is meant for travel !!! i play it everywhere, that's why it exist, not to be better than a real acoustic!!!
@ItalianoAmericano - COOL! You gonna give me the $600 for a decent one? No? Then I'll just play my Rover that I just picked up for $120.
Yea, it sounds thin, but the body is the size of a shoe box, so it's not shocking. It sounds good enough for a cool little guitar for "teh cheepz". No regrets for me.
This guitar really is great once you get used to the small body. I filed down the bridge, lowered the action and put on extra light strings. As a guitar teacher travelling every day on public transport, this guitar is so light and small that it makes my time on the road much easier. The case is also good for carrying extras such as food and drink! My students all want one, but they aren't on the market here in Hong Kong.
I tried one of these in a store and the strings were buzzing practically everywhere on the neck. Tuned it up a step and then down a step, same results. The frets seemed a little chunky.
Tis little tyke is amazing! I have four travel guitars (and this guitar is nothing compared to the Taylor and Martin..I consider these real travel guitars...but I have this little Rover in the car with me, and when you are not comparing it to any other guitar, it is an obsolute joy to play along in the car when you are waiting or in traffic!!! It is a great musical toy with rustic tone and durable body...who cares about the sound as long as you can hear it and it make syou smile!
washburn f10 or f11 are better guitars to kick around that that.. tiny acoustic guitars defeat the primary concept of acoustic guitars. less resonation = less sound and poorer sound quality
i sold washburn and parker guitars.. poor spotlight decision
I just bought one of these for my boyfriend for his birthday. He's wanted a travel guitar for quiet sometime just never made the effort to go do it ;)

I bought a Rover R010B about a year and a half ago. Well built and nicely finished. However, THE TONE SUCKS. Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

Only my opinion
Pros
Cost (less than $150)
Case
Well-Constructed
Cons
Poor balance (head & neck far out weigh body) awkward to play
Strap (smelled like soaked in oil)
Sound (more like a banjo) but to be expected with shallow body
Just my opinion
dabruders 1 year ago
@dabruders thx for writing this, imma play a kashmir song with one of these, and it sounds more like banjo than this guitar. thx

for some reason, the term rock or rock and roll, or even that guy rocks, just pisses me off how generic the term has become and how general it is...

Incredibly funny guitar, but very practical i suppose, take of the strings and have a baseball match :D

Are there gig bags for this guitar that are even smaller than the case? like the steinberger stuff?

Does this particular Rover guitar have an adjustable truss rod in the neck (reinforced)? Thanks.
terrafirma91 2 years ago
Glad some people liked it--the martin backpacker is not that good, and frankly, the sound of this guitar in the video was borderline.
jongreek 2 years ago
does that guitar comes in electro-acoustic version?
axenstar91 3 years ago
Not that I know of. But you can see in my video reply that it can be done for really cheap (the price I mention for the mic is about 10us$...)

u can buy a mic for around $30 u.s.

hey , sounds really bluesy ... the tone is cool ... not the same than a real big guitar , but a cool "mandolin" tone :D
