It is easy to be sexy and attractive when you are a handsome man but when you have a face like his and yet can still exude sexuality and a kind of innocent quality like he does in this film now that takes talent! He can be sexy, charming, and confident yet vulnerable all at the same time as evidenced in this ending scene. To me, that makes him interesting!

Love this scene ... I love how she gets up and runs out of the cafe and he runs around to meet her ... they stare at each other for a mere heartbeat, and then clutch each other. He's even so moved that he spins around with her in his arms, and then of course the frantic kissing. The best moment has to be when he turns around to walk away and she screams no and runs into his arms. The wedding vows and the long, passionate kiss that he gives her before walking to the car .... Great movie!

As a movie, it should've ended happily - the immigration officers let George stay with Bronte and live together in the beautiful apartment, but it would've increased fake marriages in the US, so the ending is vague.

The thing I've always loved about Depardidu--the paradox of such a large, forceful man who can be explosive being so tender and gentle in the quiet moments. And he can give you both of them and you totally believe it. The only other actor I've seen do that is Russell Crowe.
