Yet, it is extremely important to be able to comprehend it, as it paves the way for any atrocity committed since then on the pretext of God's will and following God's instructions. Too simplistic. The best way to approach the Bible is too read it, and not gloss a single detail. It is also important to have a Bible that has good scholarly notes. The new NABRE is the best way to quickly read the Bible with enough notes to get you through without overwhelming one.

He neglected to mention God ordering Moses to slaughter non-virgin women (pregnant women included), boys, infant boys, and giving the young virgin girls to his troops. How could they know which girls were virgins? Unless you want to give 32,000 kids a gyno exam, they had to assume the ones too young to be married were virgins. They married at 12-16 in those days, so most were probably preteens. Being labeled slaves, raping them isn't actualy rape biblicly because they are property.

What about the part where God says to kill all the women that have laid w/ men and kill all the little boys...and then keep the little girls for yourself? You forgot that part.
