  • amazing.

  • that is the coolest ever.......

  • wow. this is the real deal.

  • Turbo

  • wow, that was him behind that!?

  • geniooo

  • Yo why they didn't make more movies with Shrimp being the lead is beyond me. Them white bastards are such haters in Hollywood. I mean this guy could have been the next Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly...seriously mayn. Its so fucking obvious. I mean his look, his character, his skills and style was just phenomenal. Poppin Pete didnt have it, Taco didn't have it, Shabadoo didn't have it. Shrimp was definitely a star that wasn't potentialy used to his capacity. And thats sad. We lost a great talent...

  • @egocrusher

I agree man.... This dude was one of the most talented dancers your gonna find...

  • the cool thing is that he is more cartoon than the cat

  • omg no way, i never knew he was dancing this lol.. wow..

  • @ :46 seconds What The Fuck!! lol Turbo is a beast!!

  • @daundagrund that was purely insane...it's like he got sucks to the wall and he tried to peel himself off. i wish i could see this in person yo!

  • i love when he runs in place lol that was bitchin. Go TURBO Go

  • The way he moves!!!

  • el mejor de los mejores

  • well i guess he can dance :D

  • And all these young doods from American Best dance crew and whoever think they can Pop . I don't think so. Pathetic. Shrimp comes from the soul not by practicing hours on stupid finger tuts or tuts that have no rythm. Shrimps style and creative musicality is impeccable. Poppin is dancing not a sport.

  • @egocrusher a lot of the crew such as jabba, or poreotix have individuals who have been taught by og's of poppin -_- jabbawockeez also have good elements and versatility from elements of hip hop in the term of dance. you dont know the individuals, and you cant judge them just on what you see on t.v. when it's more focused on choreography rather than freestyle like this video.

  • @PoppinBtran

so true! choreo is based on memorization and being critical as well as being on point. but when it comes to freestyle, it comes from the heart (or so it should). Majority of freestylers dance from their soul, not a set routine that they always come out with everytime they bust in a circle or on stage. you would know who the true freestylers are - you just dont see it, you feel it!

    --love dancing

    peace!!!

  • @egocrusher dude your a genius for saying, Poppin is dancing not a sport," people dont understand that at all. i say this all the time, you have an incredible mind...

  • He is really really good...whatever happened to him???

  • TUNE N2 ME,HAA!!

  • skills this guys good ! I had a nieghbor and he claimed to be the adopted brother of Paula Abdul !!

  • if you notice he knee drops awesome

  • Mike,

You go cousin! Can't wait till next family party. Lots of fun.

    KP "Popeye"

  • 0:46 best move i ever seen.

  • @EvilLui13 I have to agree- that was sick!

  • .....Did my mans just fall on his knees??0:26

  • 0:54 is sick!!!

  • fuckin amazing.. thx

  • Turbo is michael jacksons shadow or wait maybe it's the other way round.

  • :54-:57 is pretty amazing..

  • Much respect Michael.

  • Shrimp , I met in Knoxville TN over 20 yes ago with Lional Richie. I followed your work but never realized you done this chorography for Paula. Great Job man this is some of your best stuff!!!

  • oh man i had no idea Michael Chambers was the dancer for Scat Cat!

  • wow turbo's out of this world he's dancing to a song which is pretty difficult to pop n lock to but he's still produced the goods, he's awesome

  • MJs robot in the j5s dancin machine predates shrimp. The moonwalk shows up on Soul Train in the 70s which predates the MJ Billie Jean showing. All of this is on YouTube neither created anything the just were good at it.

  • to add to that Bill Baileys moonwalk predated soul train by 15 or 20 yrs (it was around 1955) . This is on you tube as well - history of moonwalk, bill bailey etc. its all about making whatever you do your own. And putting your style and signature on it.

  • Whoa. I did not know that they used Turbo for that. That is an awesome performance right there.

  • Don't forget Poppin Taco also did some mentoring of MJ

  • I didn't know he was the cartoon character that's cool you go boy

  • ha, i know no one's gonna believe me but this fool is my cousin.

no one believes me, but this shit's true. He's my cousin. that mike. (:

  • this guy is so dang fresh. who can stand up to him. i didn't know they copied his moves (referring to the cat). man i always been a fan of his dancing this is crazy dancing. so smooth. he is the best forreal.

  • That was better than the video.

  • Thank you thats what im talkin about, people do your research you can't deny facts. Shrimp was and still is a bad man however the proof is there that Jeffery Daniels and his choreographer partners from soul train taught MJ. I can not find one not one documentation that says Shrimp taught Michael but you will find several sights documenting Jeffery Daniels did. Back up your facts with proof not just hear say and by the way wouldn't you think MJ would end to the rumors if Daniels was lieing

  • Excellent dancer!!

  • That sucks!

  • wow, dint know about this....i have been his fan since the 80's...poor guy...unsung hero...a pioneer!

  • my dude! oh how i loved turbo as a young girl! So glad vibe did the article on him. i too didnt know that was his dancing in this video! MJ and whoever is still makin money off the breakin set need to Break him off some chips! protest!!! I'll be marchin alone for you Shrimp. you should be a judge on abdc!

  • 0:54 was so damn crazy!!!

  • I'm lost for words!!! He is too good for words!!!!!!

So it's true Micheal Jackson did not learn to moonwalk by himself!

  • AmAzInG!

  • LEGEND!!!

  • Anybody looking at this can Tell this is the 1 and only boogaloo Shrimp. I'm from NY and can tell him when I see him. Who the hell do you think taught Michael Jackson how to moonwalk? I remember dude from as far back as Lionel Ritchie's All nite long video. blindingsun - you blind if you can't tell that is him. How long did you think he was gonna rock a Jherri Curl? so what he has a Flattop in the vid that was the cut that was out back then.

  • Micheal Jackson never learned the moonwalk from boogaloo shrimp, he learned it from Jeffery Danials of the group Shalamar who was also known as the pop along kid when he danced on Soul Train in the late 70's and early 80's.

  • Nope. He invited Boogaloo Shrimp to his mansion and he and his manager videotaped him doing his dances. Its documented.

  • I beg to differ, show me one sight or this documentation thats says so. Jackson may have invited him over but boogaloo did not teach him the walk. Look up Michael Jackson and Jeffery Daniels- The story of the moonwalk here on youtube, also look up Jeffery Daniel's influence on Michael Jackson and look up the Electric Boogaloos on Soul Train who Jeffery was also a member of. who do you think choreographed Michaels, Badd and Smooth Crimal vidoes. Jeffery moonwalked in 82 Michael 83 on Motown 25.

  • Im from LA and I remember Chambers from back in the day. Daniels was nothing more than a trained jazz dancer. No street dancing cred whatsoever

  • Thats your opinion which your entitled to however Jeff was a choreographer not a street dancer and Daniels complimented Jackson for taking what was taught to him to a higher level. Shrimp is the smoothest popper I ever seen nobody is discrediting that but the proof is there that Daniels did more than show Jackson the moonwalk but other moves as well. Michael Jackson was a big fan of soul train and he respected Daniels style thats why he hired him back in the day. Now wheres your proof on shrimp?

  • mad lov shrimp you did yo thang like no one els.KEEP TUTIN ON EM

  • lol he did the motorcycle out this jawn.,.lol

    like at 35 secs

  • just so you all know. this is not michael chambers.. it's been made clear a fuck truck of times..

  • K so who the funk is it then??

  • bliningsun ive known shrimp for over 30 years now.And we dance together in shows, went to parties together.I new him when he wasnt dancing when he was about 9 years old his sister ask me to show him some moves hell I new then he was bad are mothers were very good friend so we were close growing up. I remember him telling me he was going to do this video long befor I seen it.Just alittle hip hop history for you blindingsun NOW ADD THAT TO YO RESEARCH and stop hatin on my friend

    keep tutin on em

  • prove it then fuckhead. find me PROOF he was credited in the video.... cos i ain never seen no FLAT TOP on mr shrimp

  • i just did

    keep tutin on em

  • no you didn't. i want 100% solid evidence that isn't just someones random word. find me the actual credits where he's named.

  • VIBE magazine (May, 2009) reports that this is INDEED our beloved Boogaloo. That's what made me come on to take a look at the video. I too, had no idea. According to the article, he wasn't asked to come on tour with Ms. Abdul after being the model for the animators. Great job Boogaloo - no matter what, we love you!

  • and you have the Link to said interview?

  • No-I read the hard copy. It's too new for VIBE to link to the Internet just yet, as that would cost them sales. If you happen to walk by a newsstand or are near a library and have time, pick it up. It's the issue with Rihanna on the cover. Have a good day. :-)

  • I just picked up that magazine today and read the samething. I bought the mag specifically to read that story. I never knew that animated cat was actually Shrimp, he helped MJ, THAT HE WAS NEVER PAID FOR BREAKIN!!!??? He got ganked because he was young and naive and he still paying for that mistake years later. Sad- a lot of people need to pay respect when its due.

  • I came here for the same reason. The article said this performance was amazing and they're right. I can't believe how greedy this industry is to deny this guy compensation with all the cultural contribution he's made. It's scary. They'd rather steal from artists when they could easily afford to compensate them. They could at least pay the kid's bills and give him a bit of seed money to get on his feet. Hope he gets on Dancing with the Stars. He deserves to be there.

  • I had no idea he did that dance, that video was one of my favorites....Amazing!!! Helped her get her awards! they should have given him and that other Shabba Doo more attention as they were dancing way back when Break Dancing first came out......what years was he dancing on this video here back in the early 90s? I wondered what happened to him.

  • you idiot it is boogaloo shrimp do you really think he will have jherri curl for the rest of his life you donut! And he was 22 here so obviously he has grown a bit from the 17 year old we saw in breakin!

  • I did not know he was the cat. I loved him in breakin'

  • Wow!! He's amazing... look at him go!!

  • that's how they did this video? that guy must be amazing to be doing moves so good they had an animated cat copy it. damn impressive

  • Ladies and gentlemen you are watching THE MASTER. Every bit of modern dancing you see today developed because of Michael Chambers and Adolpho Quiones. Everyone tried to copy em. No one can touch 'em.

  • true, true! they truly are the greatest, and my idols

  • He is still the sickest every!

  • out of this world. probably the most awesome dance clip on youtube. effortlessly smooth. me thinks the only other dancer to rival him is salah. imo they are definitely top two of all time.

  • this guy is just unreal...the best.

  • Had no idea he was still performing after the mid 80s.

  • I just posted on my channel a rare version of the entire video that has dancer Boogaloo Shrimp,Turbo from "Breakin" performing the role of SkatKat before the animation replaced him in the final version of the video.

Check it out and see how history was made.

  • i h8 dis new youtube man its saying i cant watch it bcos its not available in the uk!! shit man :(

boogaloo shrip is a FU**ING LEGGGEEENNNDDDDDD

  • One of the best!

  • I like!

  • you can't compare anything these days to old school. you just don't fuck with it

  • wow he's awesome! I love the cat in the video, he's so funkay :>

  • OH shit, that was him?? Nice..

  • Yo that shit was tooo sick he is tha greatest of all time

  • He's briliant!

  • FUCK is crazy shit

  • Boogaloo was still rocking the parachute pants...LOL! Seriously, Chambers was one of the best poppers out there. He was so versatile, He was even a profficient breaker. He's still as animated as he ever was. Even his contemporaries aren't as flexible as they used to be, but this guy is still like plastic man.

  • Brings tears to my eyes he's so good. Might as well say he invented all dis shit!

  • Sick i remember these moves from the animated 'Skat Kat'

  • Maybe blindingsun is looking for the 17 year old Micheal Chambers who was in Breakin', instead of the 27-28 year old he obviously is here. This really is sick. I watch some of the newer pop-lockers that I thought were good and they can't even touch him.

  • sick = awesome, lol

  • This is Michael Chambers AKA Buoogaloo Shrimp showing his full versatility. Micahaels uniqueness was his imagination and character along with an unlimited physical expression.

Blindingsun has no clue about expressing yourself out of a typecast. Michael made a good living understanding the needs of Directors wanting an amazing dancer bringing something new to a video/show and he always produced whatever the circumstance.

  • Turbo wicked dancer!

  • dude, I seriously think you need to go to the optometrist quickly, it looks totally like him because it is him. Dang man, dang, I'm dumb-founded.

  • NO. i think you'll find its NOT. go and do some fucking research,

  • wow, wow.

WOW lol, blindingsun, I think you take your name way too seriously, and stared at the sun for far too long.

  • By far the best breaker...

  • Actually, Jeffrey Daniel from Shalamar did. Not Boogaloo Shrimp. He went on to choreograph and co-star in the Smooth Criminal and Bad videos from MJ

  • this is correct, if people DID their fucking Homework,.

  • No Michael jackson also had boogaloo shrimp teach him aswell! Personally i think Michael Jackson can dance alot better than Jeffery Daniels!

  • this is sick

  • did yall know michael chambers made the moonwalk he taught michael jackson how to do it. so no,michael jackson did not make the moonwalk but he did make a lot of other dances.

  • lpfanforlyfe your wrong Micheal Chambers did not make the moonwalk, Bill Baily did in 1942, however it was Jeffery Daniels of Shalamar who taught Mj along with two other choreogropher dancers from soul train by the names of Cooley and Geron.

  • they say bill bailey invented it but he prob didn't either. his mentor was bill bojangles robinson, so if bill bailey was that great just think of the guys and girls that he saw that inspired him to be great. we wont ever know who invented what. check out "the berry brothers" on youtube

  • I want to know is MIchael Boogaloo Shrimp Turbo Chambers is he dead or is he alive ?

  • Hes Alive

  • I had no idea. You learn something new every day. That was way cool to see by the way.

    Toe knee :-)

  • boogaloo shrimp chambers topman

  • that shit is so sick mann

  • damn, sick. that part when he illusioned like he fell down against the wall at 0:46 was insane! very creative and perfectly executed. made it look like the wall was the ground.

  • Im pretty sure since he was during this for a cartoon character they wanted him to be more funny and animated. So yea this is different from what he normally does but still just as tight!

  • rofl.. ay yo dat shyt is fire

  • like 39 seconds in he didi that car shit thats was hot

  • Go turbo--he great

  • holyshit dude looks soo animated in some parts

  • Absolutely Amazing!!! Still holds up well to this day!! The guy is a legend in the poppin community!!

  • Where did you get this?

  • who directed this??

  • this guy is just unreal...the best.

  • soo sick!

  • yeah becuz he DID just ripp it real quick...

  • Shrimp is the best. Thats fo sho. You know whos dope tooo...Of course Taco and one of my favorites Mr.animation

  • He is amazing. One of the best dancer's of all time.
