  • Epic!

  • This has to be one of the most epic soundtracks of all times for an RPG.

  • I've been searching for this game without to now the name of it, the only word I got was ''Ark''. And now after ages of research I finally got the name! I'm almost crying of joy!

  • @ForgottenSqueack whats the name of the game? idk it... :3

  • @pokegyrl11 Terranigma just like the title and it is the third game in a trilogy. The first game is Soul Blazer the second is The illusion of gaia or the illusion of time (it's different names in different countries)

  • I think the world is just awesome.

  • Americans don't know what they missed not playing this game... Wonderful music, magic atmosphere, perfect gameplay, melancholic and meaningful screenplay. Who wants more?

  • @Varovalx so true..this game was so epic! and the music made it even more epic!

  • @MrPhil55au I agree. I played this game for the first time two weeks ago, and I was fascinated by his complexity and intensity.

  • @Varovalx Trust me, some of them do :[

  • Sits right there (at the top) with the likes of Xenogears or FFVI in the overworld theme catergory.

  • 神曲、異議認めない!!

  • 懐かしい!!あのころに戻りたい;;)

  • This is probably the best overworld theme ever.

  • @threethymes and it was parallelled by the greatest underworld them ever XD

  • Am I the only one who hears this song when I use google earth?

  • @EricKZhang lmao

  • @EricKZhang epic

  • @EricKZhang Made my week!

  • @EricKZhang XD haha :D

  • @EricKZhang I wish I really would hear this song :)

  • @EricKZhang Nah, recent adventures in Google Earth ultimately brought me here.

  • @IdentNone ur a tripper lol

  • Amazing game and music. I only wish I could have played it around the time it actually came out :(

  • subscribed, liked, Favorited

  • A great game with a great story. And this song managed to make travelling something awesome, specially at the final part of chapter 3 (I will forever love that part)

  • they should make a 3d version for ps3

  • terranigma is the first thing, that i'm think about when I must die. to play this game was the best part of my life and its the best game ever, better as cod, god of war, gta etc.... sorry for my english... if there are any mistakes

  • Such a mesmorising theme.

I've just made a 3d animation of the terranigma pandora room, im considering maybe doing some more animations for terranigma, any suggestions.

Oh yeah and have te pandora room in my channel.

  • Oh my god... This... This brings me good memories...

SNES games... they made my childhood...

  • Unforgettable times.

    I want my childhood back.

  • i too shed manry tears when Ark had to say farewell.....he joins the ranks of kamina, archer, kittan, and the like.....

  • sounds a lot like the much more awesome theme from the Dark World in Zelda 3

  • Im not crying.... T_T

  • Immortal game....

  • omg im crying

  • I final beat the game on in emulator. Very good game the music with the story makes it realy epic.

  • This song makes me want to travel all over the world.

  • @2222do Bro, exactly what I'm thinking.

  • This game still - and will allways - brin tears into my eyes!!!!!!!!!!

  • BEST SNES GAMES EVER :

    MEGAMAN X

    TERRANIGMA

  • i would do anything to experience these easy and awesome times as a child :(

its just so sad to hear this music after so much time ....

sorry for my bad english guys im german :)

  • best fkin RPG EVER!!!!

  • At 1:00 it becomes just so frkn epic

  • I got a copy of this game in English. Does this mean that it was released in other English-speaking countries other than America? (Unlikely)

  • @SirFair1 it *wasn't* released in the US, just in Europe and (i'm not sure) Australia. Maybe i'm wrong, but i read everywhere it wasn't released in the US due to the religious symbolism and the Nintendo US attitude towards religion and games at that time.

  • @RemusCL Oh. So if a video game mentions anything about god beyond "Oh my God!" it's banned? Omg... O_o

  • @SirFair1 You can search on google more opinions if you don't believe it. Nintendo US _of that time_ (i said this in my previous comment too, look at it) was very different from that of today. They censored large parts of games that contained even slightly cheesy/sexy allusions (pseudo-innuendos), crosses or anything like "church" was replaced with temple, or it wasn't stated at all.

  • So who, like me, wandered around aimlessly each time they went in the map, purely because of how good this music actually was? I did the same thing in the underworld! You never got to hear the entire tune otherwise!

  • @J33662 I always took the longest routes possible XD

  • it's not part of any trilogies x_x

this is a standalone game with completely seperate storyline

  • @Keh0ol exactly! it's so stupid that people want to fit them in some sort of trilogy that was never intended.

  • @Keh0ol

It's part of the "soulblazer" trilogie, but it has a alonestanding story (if you ignore the fact that soul blazer is everytime 'bout god & devil)

  • @OdinakaJesus if you consider Monkey island and Indiana jones part of a "trilogie" just because both of them show a plant named "Chuck" then ok. The reason ppl say these games (Terranigma and the rest) are a trilogy is just because they show a dog named turbo and dunno what else, just in-jokes and signatures of the game company that made it. And Good vs Evil? C'mon every rpg must have 2 opposing forces, especially if it's action spawns millennia, like terranigma and chrono trigger.

  • @RemusCL

dunno how its named in the english version, jsut played the german one, but dhave you ever visited "neo tokio" before all people died there?

there is a game center where they talk 'bout terranigma and its forerunner and the game (terra) itself

  • @OdinakaJesus yes, maybe i should replay that part. you too. from what i remember, the game producers there talked about hard work and previous games they made. But that doesn't mean that those games are part of a SERIES. As i talked about Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and Manic Mansion - both created by same people but which are NOT part of a series. People there just added in EVERY game they made something they liked (which are called in-jokes or cross-refferences).

  • @RemusCL One more thing and i finished (character limit in comments). If believing their part of a series moves your boats, very well. But do not act like it's something official. Kamui Fujiwara and old quintet interviews say that isn't intended to be a trilogy/series. More info (but u should know japanese) is at i-njoy[.]net[/]ten_top.html :) Don't understand me wrong: i don't say they are not connected, but they are connected just because same ppl made them with same love :D

  • wow i never ever heard of this game before. the music brings me feelings of those epic golden rpg snes days :)

  • @MrTantrix187 I feel your pain XD

  • Was a good game indeed

  • great piece of music :D

Lufia 2 and all his themes rock to btw ^^

  • When I played this game like 9 years ago, I used to be in the map for the longest time just to listen to this song. I didn't want to enter a town or a city until I could hear 1:01-1:32 :D

  • this thing is epicness.

  • A remake would destroy the magic of this game. A good sequel would be nice. Granstream Saga isn't one. :(

Quintet? Why did you first leave the RPG genre and then disappeared?!

  • THIS NEEDS TO BE REMADE!!!!! POST COMETS ON EVERY SINGLE VIDEO YOU WATCH FROM THIS MOMENT ON SO IT WILL BE REMADE!! HELP US GET A REMAKE FOR Wii!!!!

  • @theorc2

    Halley

    Encke

    Biela

    Faye

    Brorsen

    Tuttle

    Is it being made now?

  • My favorite game of all time still to this day.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME

  • I really loved this game! It has the best story ever and is the only game that made me cry :D i am moved when i listen to this song! I miss the times of snes and playstation 1 when really good games were produced, played and respected. today great games like breath of fire 3 or secret of mana are just "downloadable mini contents" for 1 or 2 dollars that nobody cares about..

  • @dergoettliche510 I like the game, Im just playing it know in emulator but I have to disagree with best story as its kind of simple...

  • @ChocoSheriff

There is no better Storie anywhere! Today less than ever!!! I'm not interested in buying new games, because they are all boring. Good times of Videogames (1990 - 2000 [maybe until 2002]) are over. Since then, 99,99 percent of Videogames are Trash or a bad idealess Remake of an good old Videogame. Even Final Fantasy worsen with any new Edition! That's make me cry :'(

  • @Verrainmusic I agree with you when it comes to new games, as around 98% of them aren't worth it, but I seriously know better stories than terranigma, chrono trigger was a beautiful story to me!

  • @dergoettliche510 all this nostalgia shit yes so many old games are gems I myself loved this game and still play it but compared to now and then alot more bad games where pumped out back then

  • @dergoettliche510 What about Illusion of Gaia? The two are my favourites. :)

  • I love Terranigma. My favorite game ever.

  • Our world has a pretty cool theme :D

  • i didn`t heard the song about 13 years... that feels so good. Very cool. I was 15 when i played this game and it was more than a videogame....

  • memories...will neva forget

  • Years ago I listened this music in my MP3 player while I was sitting in the bow of a sailing boat. Even today I'm moved when I remember looking at the far away coast as this awesome theme of my favourite videogame sounded.

  • Young people like the new consoles and the new games. That's because they don't know Terranigma!

Super Nintendo had good games too. Terranigma is the proof

  • Damn. How old was I when I played that the first time?

My brother owned a SNES, and sometimes I snuck up his room to play, no matter he wanted me to or not^^

Those were the days. I hope that square enix is going to be this great once more someday.

  • terranigma,breath of fire 2,secret of mana,crono trigger,zelda I just wanna cry,these were real games!!!Gameplay is everything not graphics!!!!hail 90's japan rpgs!!!!!

  • @w1o5w6 agreed ^_^ all hail 90s japan rpgs

  • Tears are streaming down my face, tears of joys, tears of the memory of time, a time when game fun and outright beautiful.

    AND THEN SQUARE-ENIX WAS BORN

    BAAAAAAWWWWWW

  • One of the best games ive ever played. The story is great, also the music in the game. Legendary game, Snes was so great, with lots of great games. There will never be another game like Terranigma.

  • There are some good games today but no game could reach Terranigma (:

The music, the landscapes and the atmosphere are fantastic ;)

In my opinion Terranigma is the best game ever !

  • I miss this kinds of RPG D: .... This rules!

  • Sad that enix isn't independant anymore

    I miss Enix :'(

  • old memorys come up when i hear this song, i love this song and game

  • Great.

I come from german and first played it when i was 12 or so.. the "hardeshexe" is really scary.. you know the witch, who was hard to beat xD

I love my snes and my terranigma-game. I'm so proud i bought it on the flea market several years ago..

i never ever played a game again which impressed me like this ...

  • @MemorylessSacrifice hi hadeshexe=bloody mary in english^^

    nur mal so zu info

    TERRANIGMA ROCKS!!!11

  • @MemorylessSacrifice

Hadeshexe ohne r, da es von dem griechischen Gott und dem altgriecheschem wort für Hölle (Hades) entspringt.

  • Best Japano-RPG of all times. SNES FOREVER!!!!

  • @blacksun84 This and ChronoTrigger. God what a great pair of games.

  • @blacksun84

    QUINTET FOREVER!!!

  • @blacksun84

    America makes awesome rpgs too.

  • @feh2 America RPGs = sandbox, character creation, most heavily based on D&D.

Japanese RPGs = linear epic story book.

  • @papalolita

Weeaboo, What do you have against D&D?

  • @feh2 I have nothing against D&Ds. I'm just pointing out the main differences between Japanese RPGs and American RPGs.

I have played and enjoyed many great D&D-based RPGs including Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, The Elder Scrolls, 3DO's Might and Magic.

  • @papalolita

Might and Magic isn't how you spell Neverwinter Nights.

  • good thing I've got this game on my emulator

    :D

    I love it

  • This is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

  • Still one of my favourite games. :)

  • I LOVED THAT GAME !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i still love it :)

  • genial!!

  • If i had the ressources and knowledge i would create a 3D remake of this game, fans would love it, i'm absolutely sure!

  • Fans would love it but Square would sue your ass to the orbit.

Remember the Chrono Trigger remake fan project.

  • awesome game.. i remember trying to develop all the towns to maximum growth :P flying around like "wtf, where do i have to go again?"

definately one of my all-time favorites

the tune sounds very explorer-ish imo :) which suits the surroundings perfectly :)

  • oh yes.... totally love this track!!! ill gonna start to play again too :)

  • quite possibly one of the best games in the world.

Gonna start playing it again soon =)

  • This theme makes me think that everything is being restored, but it won't an easy task...

  • God I used to love this game, and I still do. *nostalgia*

I want a remake! And don't fuck it up!

  • Terranigma + The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

are the best games on snes

it would be so nice when they create a remake on

    Nintendo Wii

  • and Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore too ^^

  • don´t forget Chrono Trigger

  • @Kyubi095

and Illusion of Time/Gaia, maybe Soulblazer, and Lufia

  • This song is so incredibly soothing...

  • Y played Terranigma in my computer. Download a SNES emulator and the terranigma rom and you'll enjoy that fantastic game.

  • Nope not at all.

  • Yeah that's really helping get your point across. One Terranigma game is enough. Besides it was the "3rd" game of a series in a way. If there's only 1 game of Terranigma it's for the best. I'd rather it stay a hidden gem, instead of turn into something over used like Final Fantasy.

  • well that could be a good thing i mean terranigma colud be most popular than zelda and final fantasy if they were continuing making these game but it dosen't have to be overused. it could be good series of it

  • I completely agree.

  • Sure, but if you say it could have been big like the zedla or final fantasy series you dont mean remakes i think. Zelda or FinalFantasy has both more than 10 games...what about Terranigma? 10 Remakes? I think they shouldnt make a remake because terranigma is just awesome the way it is and a remake may ruin that.

  • A remake wouldn't ruin the genius of the original game. It might be a bad remake (and that would be very sad), but that would have no bearing on Terranigma itself. That said, I would love to see a remake. Just better graphics (Fallout 3 comes to mind), some nice cutscenes... I think they could even hire an orchestra to give the awesome music a brush-up. I do agree however, that the story almost forbids a sequel.

  • It does not forbid a prequel. How did the order of the underworld come into place? Who sealed Fluffy and what was his story? I think there's some room for creativity.

  • rather than a squel or prequel i would LOVE to see this exact game with new gen graphics

  • Indeed. Same game with a modernised interface and gorgeous hand-drawn high-definition graphics would be incredible.

  • Terranigma needs either a remake or at least a DS port with a retranslation, like Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger didn't particularly need the retranslation, but this game does. The dialogue is very vague and unclear and so the story is very confusing.

  • A DS port would make good sense. We never saw this game in the US without importing or emulation... It's too bad because this was one of the best SNES games ever... Also my favorite from Enix.

  • I'm sure there's a hack for DS (definitely for PSP, as I've seen megaman on it before using snes9x I think)

There's a hack for DS that let's you use doom ports using DS Homebrew Flashcart (Basically, an SD Card for DS) Or DS Media Player. I'm sure there's one for Snes.

  • @DeepfriedStix

Yeah, all of those things were possible, but I meant that it would make good business sense for them to sell the game on the DS (like Square-Enix did with Chrono Trigger).

  • Ooh yeah indeed it would. I still wonder why this game never made it the the US.

  • How the hell should they have made another Terranigma? The awesome thing about this game is the story and the story ended with the end of the underworld and the complete reborn of the overworld. Another game like this could never be that great.

  • gives back memories....

  • I got it when i was about 7...I have it already, but i think my SNES don't work anymore. I wish it would exist for the computer, too...

    (sorry for bad english)

  • They should Re-release it on the DS like they did with Chrono Trigger.

  • oh man, i remember the moment

    24. December 1997

    i open a present

    oh "terranigma" whats that *****?

and now i play it ever year again and again, because its the fucking BESt game ever

  • Dude. SNES cartridges were the best present ever. There was something magical about taking off that wrapping paper and seeing the box with their distinct logo and shape and knowing what was inside. Then there was the smell when you freshly pulled them out, and that lovely cartridge that makes you go, "YES! A new game to play!" Ah... Many a magic Christmas like that...

  • Best game ever don

  • Agreed.

  • Yes. The story brings me to tears even today. Very sad and moving.

  • Favorite game :)

  • i love its story

  • Best game ever...i want a remake :'(

  • yeah, I want it too =(

    reaaaaly cool game. =)

  • @BestSephirothFan What about Illusion of Gaia?!

  • @BestSephirothFan

hey its german right now, but it'll be english some day

    terraearth(dot)com/terranigma2/

  • @BestSephirothFan No fucking remakes of this masterpiece.

    Lufia2 got fucked up.

  • @robbzkel Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals wasnt a bad game. Nothing on the original, of course, but still a very good game in it's own right.

  • @Metov257 "In it's own right" sounds wrong one it's a fucking rip-off remake :'D

  • @robbzkel Nah, it's why games like that are typically called 'spiritual remake" much like the "spirtual successors/predecessors" etc. since on its own, it is a great game, but comparing it to the last real lufia game from 10+ years ago, it's not contest.

  • @BestSephirothFan A remake is created

    Its an fps

  • best song of the whole game :-D

  • snif snif sweet memories ^^ awesome 5/5

  • So true, SeraphxxxPhoenix ;)

Sweet Memories, good old Time ^^

    5/5 ^^

  • so nice. i miss the old times 1996. i was 6years old and played this game.

  • i played this game 1998 fo the first time

  • I was like 10 when I played this in 1998...I wanna cry about this game, fucking love it :( .

  • I have no idea why you guys are calling 3d zelda games bad. Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker were just as amazing as Lttp in my opinion. Twilight Princess wasn't as groundbreaking, but it was still a good game imo.

I mean, no offence or anything, but what's wrong with 3d Zelda?

  • There way to easy.

  • @ubersnoobers I know your comment is 2 years old, but I must say I completely agree with you. I was dishearted about people bashing 3D zelda games in the comments, OoT, MM and WW are fantastic games, TP is a great game, but a little too similar to its predecessors. ALttP was a masterpiece of the SNES era but 3D Zelda games are still excellent games.

  • Without joking: Terranigma beats every single modern adventure game. It has an epic story and fantastic melodys. Why isnt Zelda like this?

  • Well I wouldn't compare Zelda to this game, both share position 1 in top games if you ask me, Zelda also got a fantastic story and fantastic songs. I'm just talking about the 2d games of course, I don't like 3d Zelda... I don't need good graphics... I need a good story and good gameplay etc. :)
