The whole point of UFC was to allow people to use a wide range of techniques and right from the very beginning of MMA ground work was essential. Personally I find that some of the fighters who come from a wrestling or BJJ background also have some of the greatest fights. Just watch BJ Penn or Frank Mir and you`ll see great fights on the ground for 5 minutes or longer.
