What do you mean by 'tend'? i was very confused and you never explained what it means or why it's important... and what the Ammoniac is for, how often to use it... Thank you!
@weinmonster I believe what she is saying is "tinned" which means you keep your tip covered with a thin coating of solder. Southern accents are hard to hear sometimes.
Thank you so much for the excellent video! I bought a Bernzomatic butane torch some time ago, and hadn't tried it yet for soldering. (it has a soldering tip.) The durn thing won't heat up enough to solder! It could be that I'm not using it right, but I think I'll just go buy a nice Weller 100 W and be done with it. I used to solder electronics, to I know how, just not with the butane thingy! Don't worry - I have lead free solder now. ;-)
Great video! I have been making some memory glass charms and occasionally get some black residue on the solder. I use flux remover on the charms when I am finished, but some of the black remains. Does this ever happen to you, and if so,
you mentioned on-line ordering from you...what is your site? I would love to order the third hand but need your site to do so. Great video. You make it look so easy.

My led free solder, has a warning on it. Saying u should wash your hands after handling it, is there something dangerous in led free solder?
