Anyway, I've been reading up on it on the Net, and this song was most likely recorded January/March 1980, so... motion passed. ; )

Circle Jerks formed in 1979, classic punk was almost dead then. Their version of this song is late 80s-early 90s. Many years later. One of best punk musicians? I wouldn't call CJ punk, just top40 fake metal. Definitely they are very close to Green Day. There are millions of bands like CJ. I never liked them.

I'd say Soft Boys is "punk". "Punk" is not a fashion, not boredom too.

I've loved this entire LP from day one in 1981 when I bought it. It's recently come to my attention that it is somehow considered to be "lost" and obscure. Nothing could be further from the truth. "Underwater Moonlight" got plenty of well-deserved attention from student radio back in the day and became an instant classic.
