What a beautiful song. I just heard it for the first time today. He is such a gifted songwriter. And a truly polite, kind person too. A rare combination. This song belongs on the radio.
Just got back from the Vegas show on Sep 26 and he did this song, along with so much more, and I have to say that this is an instant classic and hit!.....what a fantastic song, and what an absolute fantastic show he put on!!!.....if you get a chance to see him, GO!!!!.....
WOW, this is BEAUTIFUL! I read how he loves to infuse his influences in his writing. This has "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" from U2 ALL over it! Not a bad thing, that's my favorite U2 song! GAH, Richard...release a new record soon, please!!!
We 'do' need more songs like this, but, unless it has major or at least some media coverage or catches on via a major radio, not a great deal happens. Leona Lewis, her song, used the traditional 'Girl looses idiot guy' lyrics, had backing and media coverage. Not a bad song, but the depth to a song like 'Through my Veins'... I'm sure we all know what I'm talking about.
I was at the Rutland show too. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe. Richard has to release this song with Matt on guitar. The song "Running Through My Veins" is just phenomenal. I have been saying that we're missing love songs with this kind of passion. This is just the kind of song that needs to be relased right now.
Just got back from the concert in Rutland, VT of Richard Marx & Matt Scannell. They did a fantastic job!!! This was the only song that Richard did on the piano with Matt doing accompanying guitar. It was very beautiful. I couldn't agree more with everyone else's comments on this song. Way to go Richard Marx! A true talent :)
you know ive listened to a lot of stuff these last 30 years and Richard is 1 of about 3 people that still keep coming back on my ipod! stevie nicks, steve perry & Journey and RM.
Thank you whoever posted this clip, it is a gorgeous, emotional song and beats the pants off any of todays crap!
So, show me the petition to get this song recorded and released, its a must everyone!!!
I first saw RM at the Royal Albert Hall 1989 and man the place rocked!!
Thank you so much for posting this video. I love this song. He played it live in Aruba this fall. Richard is a great songwrighter, and performer. Does anyone have a complete recording ???
Richard does what Richard does best. He brings these songs from the deepest part of his soul and through his heart and shows that we areally are all the same because his music touches us all in the same way. Screw the charts you are a true superstar and have a fan for life, and I hope you continue your amazing work.
It's called "Through My Veins". You probably won't find lyrics unless someone at one of his concerts got the whole song on vid. He hasn't released it.
One of his best...that's the differnce between pop-singers and singer-songwriters...singer-songerwiters never get outdated because they can produce and write their own music.
Keep doing what you do Mr. Marx and thanks for the concert in Trinidad. You stole the show away...
He WAS the show in Trinidad. He has a gift, he knows how to touch your soul with his music. This song echoes exactly how I feel about my father; I swear it was written just for him, and me.
Yes ... he WAS the show in Trinidad! He is wonderful with the words he write. And I know that he cares about us ... his fans, so he will continue to give us great songs, sung with the deepest feelings, in his most beautiful voice!
Most beautiful song I have heard in a long time. And now he has written the song for my mother "To Where You Are" and my father, "Through My Veins." Thank you Richard, I love you.
Heard that song for the first time at his concert last night and burst into tears...

Richard, stop it, come on.... release this now and bring forward a new album!
