And yes it does hurt the planet and use more resources, as we need to feed the animals, and then eat THEM, as opposed to plant matter and grains and fruit. Fruit actually ENCOURAGES forestation. Meat eating is spectacularly destructive, when you think about it.
Also, in regards to the specific actions of ALF, bear in mind that they operate in cells, so one cell is not really responsible for the actions of another other than a bit of communication possibly. But there isn't an all-governing head of the organization directing all the actions or anything.

But not everything works all the time, and regardless of these case studies, in general animal testing detects many potential side effects of most drugs (ex. Polio vaccine, discovery of split brain procedure, look those up) We have an extremely similar CNS to rodents when it comes to biochemistry. The thing that is very much different is our metabolisms.

Splitting the brain of primates down the corpus collosum revealed that it produced no side effects. Now people with epilepsy receive said procedure to contain their seizures to one hemisphere. I can't explain it if you don't cite it, and like I said before, i could care less if some people say animal testing is irrelevant because the majority of scientists understand the importance of animal testing. Well Polio was an example; there are plenty of other diseases to cure.

Not only is it illegal, but it is obviously worse than animal testing. @hoppimike but terror bombing buildings.. there terrorist u might get me wrong here i have a dog. i like animals but if testing them leads to cures that saves peoples lives which it does. then i am all for it. and idk about the veg thing but i know that food is still food and meat does fead alot of people and people should have the right to wat they wanna eat. hell they can it shit (mcdonalds) but its there rights to do so. i am against huntin just to kill but it does solve overpopulation

@seminoleboy96 but it's not hunting, it's factory farming and brutal slaughter, often unnecessary. And yes it does hurt the planet and use more resources, as we need to feed the animals, and then eat THEM, as opposed to plant matter and grains and fruit. Fruit actually ENCOURAGES forestation. Meat eating is spectacularly destructive, when you think about it.

Also, in regards to the specific actions of ALF, bear in mind that they operate in cells, so one cell is not really responsible for the actions of another other than a bit of communication possibly. But there isn't an all-governing head of the organization directing all the actions or anything.
Personally, I do agree with taking truly direct action though, because some people do simply appalling things and they need to be stopped.

@hoppimike you support direct action? they are terrorist no different then al quada. Even if i believed their cause is just, fight for it in peaceful ways that is what martin luther king jr did. They dont condemn there terrorist attacks so they are promoting it. Also animal research does help they are actually trying to grow organs on mice for wounded vets. that is awesome it helps people they arent going around shooting each puppy and ktten they see. there doing it for good reasons unlike ALF

@hoppimike i know but none of the other cells condemn the attacks. and it isnt a scapegoat its a great argument also what would we do with farm animals if we didnt eat them release them.. then theyd ruin crops. face it animals dont care if they die next day they dont care as long as they get food. they live in the moment but their live purpose is to make babies not to live

@seminoleboy96 but we are BREEDING these animals - there are only so many because we've bred those numbers. We kill so many of them when they are just babies or very young.. don't you think that is sick?
It's sick to slaughter animals AT ALL if you ask me, let alone slaughtering baby animals, that's just horrific.

@hoppimike dude animals dont care if they die tommorrow as long as they eat today and have sex. They provide meat and meat feeds people. and we already have 40% of the earth devoted to agriculture if we got rid of the animals we would need more for it.

and even if that WERE true that animals don't care about tomorrow so it's ok to kill them (riiiiggghhht...), we still treat them like rubbish even when they are alive.

Additionally, the treatment of the animals is a further ethical issue.
I am trying to cut meat and dairy from my diet because I do not believe I need to harm other animals in order to thrive as a human being. I do not want to kill other living things when I don't have to.

@seminoleboy96 well, I mean I'd like to see some stuff to back that up :) I think very often they are treated absolutely appallingly, even for just milk and dairy (baby calves being killed, etc).
All farms support the economy.
Anyway, it's a personal choice man. I do not believe animals should be mistreated and I also don't believe they should be killed in massive numbers in factory farms, often at a very young age. It's horrific.
