  • cup your fore finger with the pick and use your pinky for picking.. i was taught to anchor my pinky and work with the rest. everyone has a style and a way.... steffen nailed it.... watch between cuts... his thumb leaves the pick!!

    same thing my instructor did

  • 3:01 - 5:35 gave me a semi-boner

  • yeahhhhhh

  • yeaaaah! give me those goosebumps I love so much. Now that is "a gift" ...

  • where does his pick come from?!

  • @SuperPenner12345 I'm thinking he keeps it pinched between his pointer and index when he's fingerpickiing. But I could be wrong.

  • @SuperPenner12345 put it in your middle finger; you can curl your finger so that the pick's edges sit right in the creases of your knuckle. that's how i've been doing it

  • I love how this guys doesn't mind the spider crawling up and down the guitar

  • A real player.. great ..

  • Omg ! *_* .. just close your mounth and enjoy the song *_*

    love this song *_*

  • @DeehhXD The "Mounth" is the range of hills on the southern edge of Strathdee in northeast Scotland. It was usually referred to with the article, i.e. "the Mounth". The name is a corruption of the Scottish Gaelic monadh which in turn is akin to the Welsh mynydd, and may be of Pictish origin.

  • 4:20 from T Bone to John Mayer this lick has always been used with glory. :D

  • 2:10 to 2:29 Just blew me away!!

  • What amp are you using?? :)

  • all kinds of style!! great=)

  • I've discovered this video about two years ago and still it gives me so much inspiration ... :)

  • can this get any better ?

  • lol about 2:30 he makes a face that says "damn im good!"

  • @dawgpost90 Why wouldn't he? He IS god ;)

  • I have to stop watching this video...i have to get my sleep !

  • ONE WORD... EARGASIM!!

  • The little bit at 2:01 - 2:06 gets me every time. I love that little riff. It's like a wrong note solo. Love it.

  • @BrokenWingman in jazz the best time to play outside notes or scales is during a drum fill of transition so you can come back and resolve to an inside or "proper" note.

  • So many different technics within only one song..

  • alright dont get me wrong this guys fucking amazing at guitar and im not a troll but this sounds like some elevator music to me or like the soundtrack on a karaoke machine sorry :/

  • is he using a plectrum

  • @tylertommons in most of the song he doesn't. He does however use a pick when he is playing the distorted solo's (except when he is playing those Wes Montgomery'ish octaves. :)

  • 6:06

    JIZZ....

    IN MY....

    PANTS...

  • @danielber1920 that's exactly what i said lol xD

  • Man, this guy is just great.

  • I wish i was that good holy shit!!

  • Awesome.

  • Why is it that the fantastic melodic guitarists can't seem to find a band? This deserves some sweet vocals.

  • @BringYourBallsCanada I disagree, I think this man should either have a solo act or an instrumental band. Singers are often stage hogs and draw too much attention to themselves and away the amazing talent this guy has.

  • @BringYourBallsCanada Umm, they're called solo guitarists who enjoy writing instrumentals? Why would they need vocals when they can write amazing stuff like this on a guitar which either way has the attention of the listen 100% of the time.

  • @cccp20062 Sorry, no amount of melodic skill can make up for a lack of a band. All I'm saying is that if this guy gets over himself and forms a group he can go places aside from a few million hits on youtube. I play the drums and I've dealt with guitarists like these, they are on their own wavelength and they don't contribute to grand scheme of a band. I'm not saying he's absolutely like that it's just I have experience in this situation. Plus, by soloing he misses out on harmonies. Just sayin.

  • @BringYourBallsCanada Well if he doesn't want to be in a band that doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. Look at Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Master solo guitarists, yet they both have some harmonies in songs and play with a band and other musicians etc. Vai even composes entire orchestra scores and plays with them.

  • @cccp20062 Same goes for Buckethead and Eric Johnson. This guy is very talented, dont get me wrong.. I for one would love to see how he'd do with a band, comrade. On a side note, i cant stand synth drums which is probably why I posted a comment to begin with.

  • @BringYourBallsCanada

This guy is rated nr. 15 best guitarist in the world.

  • @heirloomsftw by who's standards?

  • Enorme !!!!!!

  • Can anyone give me a bit of insight o how to achieve a tone like his?

  • @hijituso your top comment has got to be as unoriginal as me trolling your ass right now. Anyways this guy is just no tommy emmanuel.......

  • @tenacious645 No he's not... He's Steffen and if you'll compare every single guitarist with Tommy then go listen to him instead...

  • @benjaminkronborg well played sir. And in my honest opinion comparing the two is like comparing titanic to the salton sea. two great films just different genre. I respect the hell outta steffen and anyone talented enough to play for candyrat.

  • @CaptainGill1 i believe its a gibson ES330. I'm not sure!!! But he sure does play it well!!!!!!

  • @patricklangelle yea,im curious because in a few months im gonna be focusing really hard on jazz music, and es's and archtops seem to be really great for jazz, considerin all the artist that use them.thx,

  • @NEXutTORUSramenMETAL You know. That was not what I maent.

  • @IWishIWasWhiteAgain also on Andy McGee´s Drifting video, why "hater"? I just made an observation. What´s the point on copying and pasting a comment anyway?

  • Does anyone know what type of distortion box he uses?

  • @Vitateacher i know he used pete cornish stuff and on his twitter he said he just got a CTD overdrive he waited a year for..

  • This cut is incredible, and yes, is SO much better than the album cut. Schackinger is certainly a gifted musician! This cut could go on forever, as the mistake at 6:23 indicates!

  • @Vitateacher Ha Ha! you must be an old fart like me to have such a lame sense of humour Hi 5

  • very nice man!

  • nice mix of influences, I really enjoyed that!

  • Amazing player..

  • @zlingaung Yeah, unbelievably versatile. I love about him that doesn't use a hundred fuzz predals and overdistorted sounds. He uses instrument, feel and fingers and amplifies all this. Brilliant result. Amazing

  • Tall Hammond?! Oxymoron!

  • wow i never thought id get to see god..... till this video

  • 6 minutes and 22 seconds...totally worth it!!!

    It only it didn't stop...!!

  • He looks like he surprises himself, on some of his moves....)

  • I cannot find the sheet music or the tabs for this song anywhere. Anyone know where. This is a perfect song for an audition.

  • @Creidinger Most of candyrat's artist sell the tabs via the candyrat-page, look around there or just use google since you can find a lot there aswell.

  • Steffen makes waiting through all the youtube ads worth it!

  • this guy sucks jk i suck

  • Reminds me a bit of Eric Johnson.

  • Tonight on top gear; richard hamond plays guitar...

  • I like the sigh of relief he does at 5:20 after realising his fretboard didn't set on fire from that epic run

  • @harrywincup hahaha you made me laugh!! how did you pick up on that?¿?¿

  • Amazing phrasing

  • From 6:23 and on it sucked D:

  • Awesome! Deserve a lot more attention!!
