and now we just had a flood that was 5 times worse than this. cars were completely under water at walmart, not just a little bit as shown here in 2006.
At 2:35 I live right over that bridge and a day later that road after the bridge was covered in 3 ft of water. Everybody including me who lived up on the hill past the bridge was stranded for six days
lannyb188 go fuck yourself you piece of shit... only curse is that your werent washed down with it. your a douchebag and a weird fucking dude....when i make my way back to broome county we can meet up. lay off the crack you piece of shit. keep living in broome county and keep drinking the polluted water from ibm you trailer park turd burgalur
@LannyB188 All I know is, that valley was the most depressing place I have ever lived. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I almost committed suicide twice while living there.
@12345dogs54321 Thousands of peoples' lives were destroyed by this flood, Particularly in Conklin, Harpursville, Chenango Forks, Delaware County, Downtown Binghamton, Endicott, Endwell. Just because you live up in the Hills of Vestal and didnt get hit hard doesnt mean the flood "wasn't that bad"

i remember hoping they would close the school(BHS) cause it was so high...lol... then it was so crowded on Main Street, binghamton... it was like a parade day... and they closed down the bridge.... that summer was really scary...
I remember the interstate 17 was completely covered near apalachin. As for UE I went there when they started the new field and they were completely stupid to spend that amount of money on it when it flood almost every year
I live in Binghamton now and did when that traggic happened. It was so sad. I was actually at Walmart, it was raining all day but we didn't think it was going to get that bad. When we came out of Walmart it was about 2 inches of rain on the ground so we were like its probably not worse in Binghamton when we got to the southside to get to the Eastside it ws horrible we couldn't get into Carlisle cause it was flooded and we were just driving around cause we had nowhere to go. It was sad & bad.
i come from Vestal (i live in PA now) but I went up there about a week after the flood and I was really appalled at what I saw it was just really bad. you did a good job making this video. always good to see someone who's still concerned about their beautiful southern tier
I grew up in the area and moved away years ago. It has been hard to imagine the destruction without seeing it. Now I have seen some of it, it is no wonder there is still rebuilding going on. I can't explain the feeling I had seeing UEHS flooded. I used to play H.S. sports down there.God help this area to recover and prosper.
the video shows real shit! i lived in binghamton on mcdonald ave right next to the river. no it wasn't all flooded but, the river was out of control and could've gotten a hell of alot worse.... count those blessings
"Convention on the PROHIBITION of MILITARY or any other HOSTILE USE of ENVIRONMENTAL MODIFICATION TECHNIQUES APPROVED by the GENERAL ASSEMBLY of the UNITED NATIONS on 10 DECEMBER 1976".
i live in vestal and i was down at my buddys house across the street from the town square mall overlooking the walmart parking lot, and we just sat on his porch drinkin beers watching so many people try to gun it through the water, flooding their engines.. and one guy was in a fuckin inner tube.. it was crazy shit, nothing like it has ever happened
What you said. Or NOT. Some people lost everything. A lifetime of hard work, gone. People bounce back, but that additude is LAME. Didn't affect me, I'm all good! Have a good one when you wake up.
Your a tool. It was way worse then I even show in this video (it was taken early on) and the devastation continues today. Take a drive through Conklin where homes are still being rebuilt or torn down.
I live in Apalchin. Devastating the destructive power of water. The lives of family and friends effected was almost too much to imagine. We all came together! "lift me up!" Thanks for posting.
oh wow...yeah i live in Johnson City, and I can't believe how bad it got over by Toys R Us. People were kayaking in the parking lot. I live down the road from the old Maines building on Grand Ave, and people who have lived in the area for years said it NEVER got that bad. I was working at friendly's at the time, and even in the midst of the advisory, we got the most business....Scary ass shit.
tht was a crazy ass flood, i went all over the place w/ my sister like u did, the first place we stopped at was the ue highschool, cause we knew tht place got hit hard
Thanks so much for posting this. I used to live there and miss it. I learned to drive in the triple cities, and know what these areas are supposed to look like. I cry when I watch this. I love the song too, and downloaded it separately since watching this! Excellent!
I got stuck at the arcade in the Vestal Plaza on the night of the flood. (I live out in Port Crane) I had to stay at a friend's house for the night because of the roads. It was a weird feeling to wake up to the sight of a house floating down the river on TV.
Was stuck in evacuated Nineveh during the flood so was interested to see how bad it got in the triple cities. It was baaadd.... Nice video, great music.
Wow.. I go to school in the area (BU) and am only glad I wasn't there to see that kind of flooding. I wish all the residents of the area the best of luck in recovering.
Thanks! I live overseas, but I grew up in the area (Sidney) so I know most of what is seen here. I've had difficulty finding anything that truly shows the scope of the damage this flood caused.

Bad thing about people with strong words and no comon sense
it is all what they are. This person here is mad at the world has
nothing to say.Only slang words.Uneducated in need of a good
church. Can not have any type of words with him.He does not know
any other type.If the retard would have read what I said.He would
have seen I no longer live in broome county. But I will be him and say
Duh I can not read I am from hillbiily land. And i only know slang
words.

Bad thing about people who say I am nuts. But one thing they can
not get away from. And that is the past.Broome county had every
thing Jobs for one thing and this was when Jimmy Carter was
in office. All these business are gone.J.C.N.Y. main street is a
ghost town.Sins of the kids will be visted upon the heads of 4
genrations of the kids. They say pay back is hell.I would never
move back to broome county N.Y.I have nothing but biterness
towards those people who did what they did to my brother
LannyB188 11 months ago
If you sat there is no curse. You need to ask yourself something
ibm.ibm country club EJ shoe factory.The carmal factory.And a
lot of small business are no longer their why?The all went out
between 1981 and 1991.The first part of the curse second
part was the flood.I am writeing a book on the broom county
curse. And why this old lady cursed broome county n.y.some
thing happen in 1981 I do not know the ladys name but I was
there the day the curse came down.and I know who the curse
aimed at
LannyB188 1 year ago
i was born in binghamton n.y. in 1965.I left in 1981 in June
there is a lot more to this flood then anyone knows.I left Johnson
city N.Y. because of the curse that was brought down on the
people of broome county. If you want to know more just write
me and I will tell you.The curse is this the sins of the past will
reveal itself on to the heads of the parents, that of there kids
as well as there kids and there grand kids.the curse came
down in 1981 june 25 years latter the curse still there
