yo veoshock. his knees are a shame. he's the no.2 shooting guard in the league behind kobe. this guy's a smooth smooth man very very tough to guard, has a very very high Baller IQ and has that killer instinct to boot. such a shame wouldve been the number 1 SG in the league... kobe even says that roy is the hardest to guard in john thompson's interview. and in the an all-star game says that "he is way ahead of his time"he aint that fast and athletic like wade or rose, but he is crafty takes far l
@alvinjason10 takes less shots that wade, kobe and rose too. he has the ability to score 30ppg but he is a very coachable player and sticks to nate mcmillan's game plan. This player is every coach's dream. too bad for those knees though... all-time great
yes he did and fuck all ya lebron james fan hes to overrated and he aint doin shit in miami he needs to take his ass back to the cavs where he can get some shine cause he sure aint gettin nothin in miami. GO BLAZERS!!
I see why hes called "the Natural". Watching Brandon Roy, he just makes it look so easy. Hes just so smooth, when he dribbles, his crossovers, and his shot. And I like that he lays the ball up more than just dunking it. It looks better to me, and it adds to his smoothness.
Oh good lord, this portland team is STACKED!! the starting line is nice, miller, batum, pryzbilla so much depth and so much youth, keep this core together which the portland franchise already has, give greg a few seasons to get his offensive arsenal ready, and man oh man, these dudes are gonna do so much dirt. i shouldn't be lookin so much into the future, but 5 years from now, i think Roy might just have a ring on his fingers.
sam bowie was drafted in 1984??? don't know what your talking about; there is Greg Oden, last I checked he was averaging 14 points and 9 rebounds a game in preseason, and that's with shitty refs!!
The only lacking in Portland is Greg Olden. He is quite ready yet. They need to develop him more. Be a beast in the middle. Dominate the paint. I see them going to the finals one of these days.
the portlad roster is the best!!!!!!!! i love the portlan trial blazzrs!!!!!!!the 2008-2009 season it was verry god!!!!!!! 09-10 i wish their will go to the NBA FINALS!!!!!!
my favorite thing about b roy is his leadership. he basically became their leader in his rookie year. now the whole team looks to him. hes only 24 but he plays and acts like a veteran
Brandon Roy is the Image Why People Should Stay In College All 4 Years He Had A Chance To Go Straight Out Of High School But He Went To College And Developed Into A Great Player And In A Few More Years Will Probably Become The Best In The League
I wholeheartedly agree. This coming from a Hornets fan, I truly admire B-Roy. He is an awesome athlete in mind and body. Sure he could have jumped into the NBA early but he chose studies and a degree over instant fame and fortune and that's truly important.
Sure athletes can make a lot of money but having a degree helps you keep it over the future, which is why it's important to use a scholarship to the fullest. I can only wish there are more people like him.
Actually B-Roy declared out of high school and realized that he wasn't going to go anywhere near the first round. He worked his butt off to get eligible and go to UW. I was at UW when he was there and I can say B-Roy is all class, just an amazing guy.
@NBAfutureishere9 i don't think going to college for four years doesn't make him a great player in the nba. You don't have to go to college to become a great player in the nba. Lebron James didn't go to college and now he is considered by some the best in the nba. and won rookie of the year.
I would say Roy, but it's not, to me anyway, as simple of a choice as you might think, cause with the right coaching staff both these guys will flourish
in a league where a ME first attitude is glorified, brandon stands out as different breed with a monster basketball talent. a truly great person with a great heart, there are a few players like him in the nba.
Roy's the "Tim Duncan" of shooting guards; he's fundamental, operates at his own pace and makes simple plays/finishes. This could be the season that Roy joins the elite group of shooting guards because he can score, rebound, pass and has excelled defensively. He'll be an MVP contender alongside Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Paul for many years to come.
this is just me but i think fernandez will take websters minutes. fernandez is better than webster. yeah webster is good at dunking and shooting but fernandez has it all. blazers=2009 champions
This is what I've been telling all my friends. His style of play compliments Roy way more then Bayless. Bayless is all about the drive sometimes to predictable, Fernandez is the three ball we need in the clutch
Man I Luv This Dude Game!....He's Smart!...Thats Why He Is Suceeding In This League So Early!....He's Something Special Man!....I Personally Think He's The Best In The League!.....Real Talk.....
Roy just keeps improving his game too, I love that. Shows improvement in his ability to take over the game and stay in it longer. Rookie year he would be less aggressive after being good for the first half of a game. 2nd year he would play good for most of the the game, saving his best for the 4th. 3rd year look for him to be more dominant through the course of an entire game.
err..no. McMillan ALREADY said Blake and Roy are starting in the backcourt. He ALREADY said Outlaw and Webster will fight for the SF spot, and KP said that Bayless is the PG of the future.
In an interview with Roy, he didn't even talk about Fernandez and only about how perfect a compliment to him Bayless is. He said "Me and Blake and eventually me and Bayless will..." so that tells ya all you need to know.
Fernandez is a shade under 6'6. He has nowhere to start.
Roy already said he'll play PG, but he doesn't want to dribble it up the floor or guard PGs, and the PG should be able to play on and off the ball, yet be quick enough to break pressure and guard PGs, and be able to break the press with good dribbling skills.
Fernandez isn't going to be guarding the quick PGs. And he sure isn't starting at SF right off the bat. Rudy expects around 20mpg (he said he was hoping for Jarrett Jacks minutes).
Good job Brandon. I've watched every single blazer game this season. Love what you've done. (I dont know why I am commenting, he will never see this).
It's a damn shame that he retire. I thought he had and bright future. (This is coming from a laker fan.)

Minus both of them, through in Batum!
PG Bayless
SG Bayles

C Oden
Can't wait to see what these five will be like when they reach their full potential.
Also, with good bench players (Frye, Blake, Outlaw, Webster, etc.), I foresee a championship in the next 5 years.
