  • steve Chaisson getting the chase on

  • Probert & Chaisson are both dead. The later was mentioned at the end of the video.

  • all that for an assist primeau thought the refs missed! primeau was hot!

  • The best part of this video, by far, was Dutch's flow

  • Ahahaha. Looking good Dutchy

  • bob was the best fighter of the nhl after eric lindros

  • @AlxMiNeR I feel sorry for retards. I feel sorry for you.

  • @happyninslave lol how? youre an idiot

  • @AlxMiNeR Like I said, I feel sorry for retards. I'm so sorry for you and your family. You are an angry retarded person.

  • @happyninslave im not angry.. bob is one of the greatest nhl goon ever.. now dont answer pls .. you dont know me .. and dont think youre little insult make me mad ;)

  • VEGANS MAKE THE BEST ATHLETES ITS A PROVEN FACT

  • @normalguyable shutup pussy

  • Keith Primeau is a meatball

  • give Primeau credit he was just a rookie and Probert was the toughest bitch in the NHL at the time.

  • @exposingscams another probert nuthugger! brown was the toughest!

  • Primeau was a douchebag who was the quintessential talented -- but lazy -- player. I remember seeing glimpses of his capacity which were then quickly extinguished. Too bad. He had the gift. Just chose to not use it.

  • Primeau was one of the top power forwards of his time, he could fight and score!

  • Looks like Primeau held his own even though he was still a kid at that time.

  • @wovokanarchy 6"5 220 helps?

  • Was that an old TSN set up behind him or was that from Darren's days in Edmonton before he signed with TSN?

  • wow darren dutchyshen....with no lipstick....he looks like a man

  • +1 for vintage Darren Dutchyshen

  • @moparjim590 Is this from Sports Night in Edmonton??

  • Holy Darren is fucking young

  • So badass....kicking a guys ass in practice. FTW Bob Probert!

  • Did DUTCHY say that hockey players "sleep with eachother"???? The co-anchor

Btw, can anyone tell who's who here?? Which one's wearing the green jersey?

  • Is that Darren Dutchyshyn?

  • great team spirit go wings go !!!!

  • @SuperSultan1988 sort of but Primeau had way more skill

  • The best part of this video is seeing Dutchy when he was so young

  • Keith Primeau was a very good captain in Philly.

  • hmmm

    primeau more skilled player?

    perhaps

  • Yeah not by much though... remember Probert playing in the all star game?

  • Ahahahahaha! EPIC!@ DARREN! Its Dutchy!!! Darren Dutchyshenenenenelukeschenn or something.

  • lol this guy is still on tsn.

  • Dutchy or something like that LOL

  • ya its darren dutchysen and this is his early days in edmonton working for ITV sportsnight

  • Anyone who criticizes a second year player who isn't a Malkin, Crosby or Ovechkin and still gets 73 points in a single season is simply full of shit. I'm not the biggest fan of Primeau for sure but what a ridiculous thing to say that he was a total bust. Judging by the trades and such he was involved in, this YouTuber must have more hockey knowledge than those in the NHL making the big decisions. Not...

  • Primeau, was a little, Primeau-donna and a bust for the Wings. If you saw the full video of this fight, you would see that Primeau, got spanked by Probie.

  • Dont know which fight youre watching... Primeau clearly had that one. Good thing too, cus Probie ALWAYS needed to be put in line. What a crap player.

  • Players who witnessed the fight, said Primeau started crying after he got pummeled by Probie. What a little pussy.

  • Dutch has changed so much! Haha. Was he on TSN in this video?

  • Dilemma, it doesn't look like it.

Before TSN, he was with STV in Saskatoon and CITY-TV in Edmonton (both are now Global).

    Hope this helps.

  • Primeau had the best first punch in the NHLK. Too bad it hardly ever landed. Looks like Probert got his ass kicked and Primeau was traded 2 days later. another smart move by the wings. Keep cokehead and trade a future HOF er.

  • Primeau a HOF er is quite a long shot. He was the biggest bust in Detroit, considering we could've drafted Jagr instead. He could hardly skate, would always slip in the corner. By the way, Primeau was given up for Shanahan, who led this team to a cup that Primeau certainly couldn't deliver. Yes, another smart move by the wings.

  • agreed on every aspect of your post, ARod. Could you imagine this team had we picked up Jager instead of Primeau? On the flip side, if we had never picked Primeau, we may have never seen the likes of Shanahan and all his wonderful ability. Interesting things to think about =o)

    GO WINGS!

  • Shanahan's a pussy, Giving up Primeau was the worst things the Wings ever did and I've been less of a Wings fan since they traded Primeau

It was a dumb move and all we got was Shanahan, who's probably one of the dirtiest players in the game yea great move by the wings

  • Statistics don't lie. Shanahan was a tremendous player and way better than Primeau. Had Primeau decided to play, instead of "holding out" after we signed Larionov, he may have stayed. Plus, Primeau was riddled with concussions and didn't last much longer. Where and how was Shanahan a pussy/dirty player? He helped us to 3 Stanley Cups. You're entitled to your opinion, but show me some vids or something to back your "dumb move/dirty player" claim up.

  • @drummerwes81 Just because you win a stanley cup doesn't mean you play by the rules all the time and aren't a dirty player. Hell look at one of the all time dirtiest players in Scott Stevens he has a cup and is in the hall of fame. Are you going to say that he isn't a dirty player?

  • Primeau was lazy, a terrible skater, and a terrible player altogether. We wasted a top draft pick (When we could've had Jagr) just because he was big and Canadian. With Shanny, we got 3 cups and a guy willing to fight. With Primeau, we just lost a bunch of concussion injuries and a contract headache (no pun intended). If you ask me, 3 cups is a great move by the Wings. How many has Primeau won?

  • @ARod016 lemieux MADE jagr's career, if it weren't for lemieux he wouldn't have been the dominant player he is today.

  • @Kipperluongo You seriously don't think Jagr could've put up the numbers he did with Yzerman or Federov as his linemate? Besides, when he went to Washington and the Rangers, he wasn't too bad either. It's not just like he hooked onto Mario and rode his way through the stat books...

  • @ARod016 no but mario was a crucial role for jagr as they played very similar, big bodies, not very physical and both had excellent hands. I'm just saying if mario wasn't there things could have turned out differently

  • @ARod016 Bullshit, Primeau may not of won a cup but he was a talented and tough player in his own right and the wings COULD of very well won a cup with him if they'd not just decided to be whinny bitches and trade him away cause they wanted a cup now instead of waiting to develope their young talent!

In reality the wings are not managed all that well in my mind, in 96 they gave up some great players in Coffey, Primeau Dino Ciccerelli and others.

  • @atone48732 Oh come on man you're fucking blind. Primeau would dump a puck in on a 2 on 1, then fall in the corner because he's an awful skater. AWFUL. In 96, they gave up Coffey, who never played defense when they needed it most, Primeau, who was worthless, and Ciccerelli, who I love but was on the downturn of his career. And all they did was win three cups within 6 years. HOW IS THAT BAD MANAGEMENT? Learn the fucking game first you duster

  • @ARod016 I know the game "duster" ANd I know that so what the wings won the cup the next few years, they had a four year string after trading away young TALENT like PRimeau where they DID NOT Win the cup because they were a bunch of old timers that were on the downside of their careers by that point!

Give me a break by like 98 Yzerman was on his last legs, he was about to have that first knee surgery that pretty much was the end of him. And Larry Murphy retired what in like 99.

  • @atone48732 They just don't give you enough room in these things, anyways contiuing on. The Wings of 97 and 98 are guilty of what the Rangers of 94 did, bartering any actual future talent theyhad to win the cup NOW! To me that is stupid and they should of let their younger players develope and let players like Paul Coffey and Cicerelli help them along. IF anyone should of been traded it should of been Osgood and Yzerman after that playoff flop of 94!

  • @atone48732 You're really a fucking failure at life kid. The team won three cups in those years, retooled int he lockout, and won AGAIN. They won NOW and they won IN THE FUTURE. Your argument presents no valid points, nothing constructive, or nothing that even MAKES SENSE. And trade Yzerman? Really? REALLY? Have you considered suicide kid? I could bet my life you've never laced the skates up, you have no idea what you're talking about. Just go crawl in your corner and cry you fucking plug

  • @ARod016 They won cups in both 97 and 98 and it took till like 2002 for them to win another, that's four years retard. They had to trade for MORE Big and AGING stars just to win the 02 cup. Hasek who's best years were behind him, Robitaille, who had his best years during the GRetzky years in LA, and Hull who's best years were in St Louis. ANd yes if I were the Wings GM back then I would of traded Yzerman and Osgood after the 94 or 95 playoff fiasco, not a young player like Primeau!

  • @atone48732 Oh dear god! God forbid if we don't win the cup every single year! Jesus Christ kid you're a fucking joke. Who cares if they're aging or young? We still won! Stop fucking crying about it. If you were going to trade Yzerman, you obviously don't know shit about hockey in general. Stick to basketball or something, you're a fuckign embarrasment kid.

  • @ARod016 I don't get why there is so much fucking hatred for Primeau, if I remember correctly he ended up becoming a pretty good player his days in Carolina and Philaedelphia. Yzerman had knee problems his whole career and never really performed ALL that well in the playoffs. When did I say win the cup every year? I never said that, what I said is they should of let the younger kids develope instead of rushing to win the cup like the Rangers did in 94, look at how well they did afterwards

  • because he was fucking AWFUL. He didn't do shit anywhere he went. Zero rings, good for his lazy work ethic to go with his horrible skill set. Yzerman was beyond a PPG in the playoffs DESPITE the knee injuries, even in 2002 where it nearly ended him! They did let the kids develop. Ever hear of Datsyuk, Zetterberg? They didn't trade Lidstrom, he developed. They won the cup, but the thing is, THEY WON IT AGAIN. AND AGAIN. This is the part where you just need to kill yourself, okay kid?

  • @ARod016 Shanahan is a fucking goon who pushes around those smaller then him. He was nothing compared to Primeau if anything the wings should of traded some like Maltby and held onto Primeau, there's someone who never really ever contributed, least Primeau had a few good years once he went to Philadelphia. ANd how can you say the should of picked up jagr? Europ players are pussies that never hit and shy away from the physical game. The NHL needs less Swedish sissy boys and more tough Canadians!

  • @atone48732 Seeing as some of the best players of all time are Swedish, your opinion is hereby moot, regardless of what you say.

  • @Sunrider84 Have you ever seen a swede fight or throw a hit? I think not, They are little sissy boy pansies and nowhere near as tough as American and Canadian players. HOckey is is a VERY Physical game and involves hitting something most of the pansy ass Euro trash players avoid, Give me Eric Lindros, Keith Primeau or any other physical manly player over the Euro fags anyday. They should all stick to pussy games like soccer and basketball and baseball little pansy asses

  • @atone48732 Wow, you are surprisingly ignorant. While it is true that not many Swedes are goons, we had people like Samuelsson (no, I'm not proud of him, but he's the type of goon you obviously like). Other than that, we have been on top of points for many many years with players like Sundin, Forsberg, Lidstrom, Renberg among others. For someone your age, you are surprisingly immature.

  • @Sunrider84 Wow, only one swede that played it tough. The rest are pansy asses that are afraid to fight and or hit. No I'm not immature or ignorant I just enjoy my hockey as it was meant to be a very physical game not meant to be played by pussies. THey should go off and play soccer another game meant for pussies that are afraid to be hit, I mean seriously hockey is meant to be played tough

  • @atone48732 Here's an idea: shut your fucking mouth and never comment on another hockey video again. Your logic and reasoning skills are so piss poor, you would...well...you would rather have Keith Primeau over Brendan Shanahan, and you would have traded Osgood and Yzerman after they lost to the Sharks in '94.

You sure you're not mentally handicapped and/or a Wings beat reporter for the Free Press?

  • So wait, lemme get this straight. You're ripping on Shanahan for being a 'goon' (80 points a season isn't really 'goon' material, more like 'power forward' but lets roll with it since you prolly don't know the difference) then you say we need more tough guys? You conradict yourself much? Way to go champ. Well, here's a simple stat of why we should've went for Jagr. JJ = 2 cups. KP = 0 cups and countless concussion injuries. Take your pick. No wait, you'd rather be tough and never win

  • @ARod016 Have you ever seen Jagr throw a hit at all? I think not cuase he was a big softy and a huge ass pussy. Sure he scored alot of goals and won cups, that was mostly thanks to Mario Lemieux and the talent the Pens had at the time not cuase of that little sissy ass Eurotrash player. Jagr will never rank up there with the true greats of the NHL like Gordie Howe, Eric Lindros and Keith Primeau, guys that new how to play it tough

  • He didn't have to hit though. Jagr decided instead to skate around the gumpy Canadians and snipe it top ched. Ever wonder how Mario never won until Jagr suited up for Pitt? Did you really just put Lindros and Primeau, two gumps who amount to nothing, on the Greatest Player of All Time's level? Let me ask you something else. Have you considered suicide? You should probably think it over kid.

  • @ARod016 At least Lindros and Primeau played the game like men and not little sissy boys like Jagr. I mean seriously all the Eurotrash allowed into the NHL Is destroying the game, HOckey is meant to be a tough game it's not baseball where the sissy boy faggots aren't even allowed to hit each other. I mean seriously is there a more girly man sport that baseball? Lets not turn hockey into that with players like Jagr

  • If hockey were just a bunch of goons fighting with no skill, no one would watch it. Lisewise, if it were soccer with no hitting, no one would watch it again. You need a mix of skill and grit. Primeau was a waste of a roster spot because he never showed up when the Wings needed him. Shanahan had the skill and the grit, that was why the Wings traded for him. That's why Shanny has three rings, and Primeau has none. I'd rather have a cup on skill than nothing with toughness

  • @ARod016 There's hitting in hockey it's a physical game, Jagr plays like a little pansy boy that is afraid of being touched, Kind of like that Kovalev guy that dives all the time. What disgraces Eurotrash players are to the NHL, They should stick to sissy ass pansy games like soccer and maybe try playing baseball, ya don't have to be a MAN to play those games

  • So Jagr's style isn't physical. Okay. I'd still take his 100 point seasons and 2 rings anyday. Likewise, I'd take Shanhan's 3 rings and physical style before Primeau's whiny attitudes and concussion problems. And if it takes a 'man' to play hockey, why is Cindy Crosby the face of the NHL? You should tell Ovie how week European players are. Because he plays totally weak, he never hits.

  • @ARod016 I hate it then that NHL shoves cowardly players like Crybaby Crosby and that weak ass OVie in our faces with their marketting. It's like the NHL is going to sissies or something makes me sick. Really Ovie plays like a fucking soccer player, weak as hell he kind of reminds me of that pansy ass Alexei Kovalev, yea he was a real star. The wings need to stop drafting Euro sissies and startfinding some tough players again, really annoys me

  • Ovie plays like a soccer player? Really? There's being bias, then there's just being plain stupid. You should really consider suicide kid, because absolutely nothing you say makes sense. Maybe try turning on a hockey game for once. I respect the enforcers, I love em just as much as anyone. But a league full of them makes for boring hockey. At this point, I think you're just jealous of all the Euros with rings (The Wings, Kovie, Jagr) so you gotta resort to crying on here. Stop whining ya pussy

  • @ARod016 No, I think if the NHL got rid of all the damn Eurotrash it'd be a much better league without all those pansies. Really who gives a flying fuck about Jagr the guy's a pansy and so are the euro trash the Wings have, they'd be so much better without the trash

  • Right, just look at the Red Wings in the 80's without any European players. They were reaaaaaal tough. They also won 20 games a year. A lot of people give a fuck about Jagr, the guy won several scoring titles and two cups. I think a lot of tough guys would give up their PIM records for a ring anyday. I'm sure Jagr looks at Primeau's career and just laughs his ass off. I know I do.

  • @ARod016 Well I look and Laugh at Jagr's career, so what if he's won scoring titles and rings was he a tough player? Did he play like a sissy? Of course he did, him and that queer looking long hair of his, he was never a real hockey player

  • I'm sure it breaks Jagr's heart that you think so little of him while he collects his millions and looks at his rings. Because you've made it to the show, you won a cup, I frogot how much your opinion matters. Everyone else in the world laughs at your existence, so there's not much to laugh about is there?

  • @ARod016 Yea right cause Jagr is really still in the NHL, oh that's right he ran back to Europe like the sissy boy he really is. He should of stuck to soccer like most those sissy boys from Europe, seriously. Sports like soccer, basketball and baseball make me sick, they're not even tough! They're all for pansies that can't take a hit and are too afraid to play a tough sport like hockey or football. baseball american's pasttime, yea right what a bunch of pussy assholes

  • He's made his millions, he's got his rings, he's got the hardware, what else is there to prove in the NHL? Like I said, I'm sure it breaks his heart that you think so little of him while your gump Canadians wallow on the ice. Respect the grit that the enforcers bring, just don't be jealous when a skill player can dangle your shit and put it top corner, then make you carry the jocks at the end of practice. No wonder you're miserable.

  • @ARod016 You see the difference here is I don't care about idiots that dance around the ice like a freaking ballerina or one of those stupid figure skaters, I watch Hockey cause it is supposedly a man's game supposedly a physical game played by real men not prissy little fag boys that can't take a hit. I'll say it again you don't want to be tough or play tough? Go play faggot sports like soccer, baseball or basketball

  • @ARod016 i agree with everything in this statement but just feel the need to mention that Primeau did win the scoring title in the OHL the year before, which some argue is one of the toughest leagues out there for amateur. From Det perspective: a heartless CZECH or a big Canadian power forward. Other notables that got drafted post Primeau that year: hatcher, sydor tkachuk and fuckin BRODEUR

  • @ARod016 I remember Scotty Bowman saying that about Primeau. That's why he got rid of him.He said it straight out the guy had no heart and he was lazy.

  • @ARod016 he was mad cuz he thought he should be our first line center over yzerman lol

  • @ARod016 u do realize primeau was a real solid player, not the best skater but great hustle and a great 2 way game, primeau was a good player and in philly he is a fan favorite here, good all around player, i mean there are only a handful better players than jagr to ever play the game so the fact that shanahan and jagr are better isnt really a big deal

  • @ARod016 Primeau was one of the best faceoff winners in the History of the NHL. Yes. I said HISTORY. Look it up. He had a career winning percentage of 65% on the draw. If you are in your defensive zone with 30 seconds to play in a 1 goal game, Keith would be the only person you need to have out there.

  • i swear i havent posted comments in ages cause i dont acknowledge retards on youtube anymore, but reading your comment made me want to find you and slap you for being a complete moron...shanny is a legend with more heart than your bitch ass could ever muster up....go ask primeau, hell tell you the same thing....youre no redwings fan, never were and apparently never will be...good

  • He wasn't a bust. The guy scored 73 points in his second full NHL season. He was worth trading for Shanahan, there is no doubt about that. I just can't figure out how people go about considering 73 points in your second NHL season a lack luster effort. He made the All-Star team.

  • What did he do after? Score 73 points again for the Flyers playing as a shutdown center. He should have won the Selke that year too. Draper isn't that bad either. There have been worse players on the Wings. I'm not understanding your logic. A bust is Alexander Daigle. That guy had a pathetic career compared to Premeau. Sure, he isn't Jaromir Jagr, but how many are?

  • We're talking about his years in Detroit here. My logic is, the man couldn't skate, he'd turn the puck over needlessly way too many times. Not to mention his astounding 5 career playoff goals with the Wings. Funny how right after we got rid of him the Wings won the cup TWICE.

  • The man could skate just fine. You guys are way too hard on him. Most guys in their first two years turn the puck over needlessly. Its part of a player's development. To say he is a bust is ludicrous. That's like saying every player who doesn't win the cup in their first few years is a bust. Every player who scores 73 points in their second full season, but doesn't win the cup is a bust. That just sounds stupid saying it. You know what, its is.

  • Detroit traded Keith Primeau along with Paul Coffey and a 1997 first round draft pick (Nikos Tselios) to the Hartford Whalers for Brendan Shanahan and Brian Glynn.

  • In the end it was definitely a good trade, but Premeau is not a draft bust. That's all I was getting at.

  • Glynn was a solid pick-up.

  • lol, I kept waiting for his wings Debut. Never happened. Just like the "Future Considerations" we got from Edmonton for Bob Essensa. THe Oliers Still owe us considerations!

  • @tane8484 For Bob Essensa? We owe THEM considerations for that duster

  • Primeau fought Chris McCallister at a Flyers practice also.

  • dats what up boiy.

  • Dutchy

  • The story goes that in the game the night before, Primeau wasn't credited with an assist on a goal that he felt he should have received, and was whining about it on the bench all game. So the next day at practice some of the guys turned on the PA system and one them announced: 'correction on last night's goal, add an assist to number 55, Keith Primeau!' Primeau apparently failed to see the humor, and ended up fighting Probert.

  • @woodyt56

The guy supposedly was Yzerman and Primeau took offense and I don't know if he gave him a cheap shot in practice. Supposedly Probert said "I've been waiting for a reason to kick your ass all year"...

  • Whatever. Clearly you need to stick to bubble hockey ... if you don't get blisters from the control rods :)

  • Primeau was a useless pile of meat and a waste of a draft pick. I'm glad Probert rocked him.

Broke his jaw, as I recall.

  • primeau was useless?if i recall it was the coke head probert who wasn't aloud in canada.

  • Oh is that you, Keith?

Biggest waste of a #3 draft pick in history.

  • he must have banged your wife...he produced everywhere else, you guys just got rid of him too soon.

  • Agree 100%, I mean seriously, while Shannahan did turn out to be somethin good for Detroit I feel Primeau was NOT given a fair chance to develope here and he remains my favorite player, though he retired ...

Too bad really he produced fairly well in Philly too...

  • the fact that we could've got Jaromir Jagr in the draft instead is unbelievable

  • Eh, again I liked Primeau and feel bad Detroit didn't give him a chance to develope.... but that's just me, everyone has their favs
