Every 0.0 pilots know that if you're not in a Capital ship, you're USELESS and you're just a cannon fodder. Who PVPs in a bantam? Sure, there may be people who talk the talk but do they walk the walk? It's a freaking mining frigate! There's no classes in EVE. Pilots just use the right ship for the right purpose. Bantam is not a pvp frigate! And Merlin? Are you kidding me?! The IBIS is better. At least you'll never run out of it ever in game. But then, you'll never get a kill with it either!

The only ship that anyone can afford to fly is the IBIS and the other ship that new players start the game with. Everything else, even the lovely Bantam, takes at least days to replace :(

You need to mine the minerals, enough ISK to buy the manufacturing slot to make the items, and most of all, the wait time for an open manufacturing slot ... buying a frigate now gets to over half a million ISK which again .. is not for new players ....

@wenzilber err what? you get all your bantams, herons and even a destroyer for tutorial missions, even if you lose some, you know there's insurance? plus where you took those prices? in most empire regions, esp in starter stations where tutorial agents are, prices for frigs are so low you can't ask for more. If you need isk for frig to pvp, just get in something, do few mining runs, sell ore and there you go, have fun

@wenzilber A Bantam costs 10k ISK in Uitra, -right now-.

Add to that the fact that if you do the tutorial missions you get 2-3 of them, a couple of industrials, a Merlin, a couple of Condors and a Cormorant Destroyer, seriously, no one should have trouble with replacing ships early on.

Oh AND you can re-do the tutorial missions. Each race has four tutorial training hubs. You can complete the tutorials in each of them. FOR EACH RACE.

@wenzilber Are you for real? I was playing the 14 days trial, and i had 15-20kk in the 5th day, i think (no mining, I hate mining). I also had a destroyer for free, from an epic arc. With agents, I could buy a destroyer in about 1-2 hours, for a good price. A cruiser (lvl 3 skill) cost me about 25% of my ISK.

Nice, you described the exact reason why a lot of people stay in Empire ... they cannot replace what they lose in PvP so they fly missions solo to get the most ISK / hr ... especially new players who cannot afford to lose their ships every 2 minutes :(

The only ones who can afford to pvp all have good industry characters to make their own stuffs in .. probably their own POS (which requires even more BILLIONS of ISK just to run ) ... a ship loss isn't just a simple blob of wreckage in space then

ehm, running a POS doesnt require millions one(trust me i may or may not own a few), I pvp altho i only have one toon and still fly tech II ships in pvp

CCP and its lovechild EVE are the single greatest entity currently activate in this modern world. Everything they are doing, they are doing right. Even with the harsh critism of it not caring for low mental capcitiy, it is still able to thrive with its minimal presence in our everyday lives. Kudos to CCP and EVE - may great things come to them.

I think she did well and the more times you give presentation the less nervous you get.

Spoken like a newb, what is in your opinion a good ship? To me a tech 2 frigit either a tackle or Scanner takes 1 month to be good with it, in wow to get to lvl 80 take 3 months, so time invested not bad.

Those stats cant be right and this isnt the first time CCP have hosted a fanfest, as I said she sounds the same throughout, if it was nerves her voice would have changed.

Why would people fear public speaking anyway, or death :/ it isnt difficult to speak to a crowd and death atm is a natural thing so why would anyone fear that :S

Personally I dont think she was nervous at all and had no reason to be it's not like she was going to get a laptop thrown at her if she said something wrong.
