Interesting. I thought those electronic meters couldn't go backwards.

This home has a grid-tied solar system so the meter measures "Net" consumption. The actual meaning of the kWh values:
"P+" - "consumed from grid" - house is consuming more than generating from solar
"N-" - "fed back into grid" - solar is generating more than house is consuming
"NE" - "Net consumption" - the value of "N-" subtracted from "P+"
The vertical bars at the bottom are a virtual "spinning wheel" found in a traditional meter. Moving right to left is "backwards".
