Ali's finest hour. Like everyone else, I thought Foreman would destroy him. Will never forget picking up the morning paper and seeing he had knocked Foreman out in the 8th round. From the first Liston fight to the exile in 1967, he was perhaps the greatest heavyweight ever. From 1971 on he was the bravest. I wish he'd retired after this fight.

Great series of vids, thank you. Ali had not only courage, strength and toughness, he was a consummate boxer as well as a master strategist. And all that's even without his ability to get under fighter's skins. I say these gifts would have made people like Jeffries, Marciano andDempsey, all supertough but not known for their skill, easy meat for him, just as Foreman was in the end. Funny from 3:40 - 3:46. He was faster than a middleweight that night, not only on his feet, but the reflexes were phenomenal. Watch how often Liston missed with the jab, and Liston had an outstanding jab in his day.

Musta been great to experience that fight live, the only fight I can think of that comes close in my generation is when Holyfield beat Tyson the first time. But for me this fight along with his longevity is why Ali is the all time best heavyweight, no doubts. Great upload, thanks.

I remember the first I saw this fight finding it hard to believe that this was the supposedly devastating, unbeatable George Foreman. I had never seen him fight before and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. For me Ali never looked like he was in trouble.

It was only later when I saw Foreman destroy Frazier for the title that I understood why people were scared of him. He looked a COMPLETELY different fighter against Frazier.

Ah if only Ali had quit after his last magnificent fight against Frazier a few years later. That would have been a perfect end to an amazing career. Or if he had even quit after coming back to beat Leon Spinks(who never should have won in the first place) But boxers never seem to know when to quit. Still, Ali was definitely the greatest; unbeatable in the 60's before they stripped him of his title and slower of foot but still incredible in the early 70's. An amazing man and an amazing fighter.
