  • I kinda like it...makes me think of Face/Off...

    Kidding

  • P-Pals?

  • It aired on Sesame Street from November 19, 1984 (when the sixteenth season started) until May 19, 1989 (when the twentieth season ended).

  • 0:00

  • i like it

  • The strangest place I was able to find this logo was on an old "Saturday Night Live" video I have in my collection - it was always used before "The Anal Retentive Chef/Fisherman/Handyman..." sketches that Phil Hartman did in 1988-1989. Even stranger...seeing the 1971-1984 PBS logo on a "Charlie Rose" parody on a 2000 ep of "SNL"!!!!!

  • I remember this one like it was yesterday my it was at the beginning of sesame street and others. my baby sitter always had PBS on LOL those were the good old days.

  • Is this PBS logo released before or after Clarence Nash (the original voice of Donald Duck) died?

  • seriously? what is so scary about this logo?

I love the music and how simple the logo is.

  • They also show this after The Red Green Show

and Red Green's Fundraiser where they show old episode of the Red Green show

  • This used to scare me when I was younger, I would run out of the room every time I would see the black screen and the stand alone logo right before the music would come on. Great memories.

  • Same here. Either that or I would hide my face in the couch.

  • Wow, I definitely wasn't alone. I mostly grew up with this logo when it came at the end of Shining Time Station.

  • look at the nose closely, you will see its moving

  • i like old logos :)

  • calling this logo "Split Profile" make sense because when the logo is in motion that represents knowledge and reaching out to one another. That what PBS was trying to say back then

  • Also on "NOVA" and "Reading Rainbow" Funding Credits from 1987.

  • I saw this on "Sesame Street" Episode 2238.

  • I love the piano and string backdrop theme. Very classy.

  • I always found this one creepy.

  • bigrene2, you are sooo smart

  • Thanks!

  • At least this is more pleasant sounding than the first PBS logo.

  • I liked this one, but the "Everyman P-Heads" ROCKED!! Never scared me a bit..

  • @quiktymevideo: This is very nice, actually. But the "Everyman P-Heads" is still my favorite, probably because of the cool Moog synth.

  • and on reruns, it was used in the 90's

  • i like this vid there was also this one that said and on over and over

  • I think this was the one logo that DIDN'T scare me when *I* was little...

  • Actually, Captain Kangaroo was syndicated by APT; it didn't have this logo.

  • I remember seeing that logo all the time, since '84-'89 was when I watched PBS the most. Back then, no one messed with PBS.

  • 85-91 was when I watched PBS the most. PBS shows back then were actually good, as opposed to what they crank out today.

  • My favorite logo of all time, this always made me feel really good. They ran this until about 1990 or 1991 right before and after Weather World, but it ran only until mid-to-late 1989 for most other shows.

  • this logo used to scared me when i was little

  • Really? You're the only one I heard of scared of this logo.

  • there was some one elce that was scared to

  • Probably the earliest closing logo I can remember! I could remember this after Sesame Street and Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. I started Preschool in 1989.
