  • I want so hard to go there, but it is so expensive :( Jordan are expensive compared to other travels.

  • niiiiiiice <3

  • Indiana jones :)

  • Ironic that you show Petra, then an old guy wearing a black and white mindeel,

  • Thumbs up if your name is Petra

  • My name is Petra.

  • dang, those fools really knew how to carve ; )

  • es una gran maravilla ..... !!!!!!!

  • arab and proud!

we were the inventors of civilization, irrigation, the sail, the wheel, pioneers of agriculture, medicine, astronomy, chemistry and physics.

we built the first empires and laid the foundations of law (Hammurabi code) upon which all other later coming empires were based upon.

  • @akkadianarab american and proud!

we r a prostitute to the federal reserve. we r inventors of the biggest burgers. & we make the most profit from plundering other countries with the large power of corporations that keep evil self serving bastards in place. come join us in the illusionary american dream before the banks suck the blood of our people & leaves this country rotting in its ignorance ; )

but if not thats ok you can wait for it to happen to you next once the fed is finished with us ;)

  • @1111BLAKE1111 im already here ;)

but seriously its always been that way ever since man created civilizations, the rich have always robbed the poorer and always will, empires and nations come and go and the world keeps on turning, nature of life

  • @akkadianarab naw i dont buy that cop out anymore. today we have the technology and abundance to thrive in harmony on this planet. it all comes down to money to me its an outdated value system and without it human potential can truly shine. dont mean to harp but just tryin to spread the message: watchv=6mr2a5emIVI also check out the venus project, a system for humankind that would be free of politics, war, famine. not a utopia because it refines itself

  • @1111BLAKE1111 America was a great country but you just have to open to FOX or some other bullshit outlet to see that we're truly fucked

  • this ancient arab work of art is finer and much more beautiful than the much more "advanced" wonders of the modern world

  • ....surely will die in my soul IF I never get her or something horrific happens to it like an earthquake or assholes with bombs ever get near it!!

  • Hi there! thanks for this brilliant video!!! i went to Jordan last year & visited Petra & Jerash...amazing places!!! xxxx

  • I have been there (; It's beautiful !!

  • @GetToDaChoppaaa

No problem. Although Cultures borrow from each other in many ways, the Nabataeans were unique in everything they achieved. Amazingly, their art and architecture had a major impact on numerous regional civilizations. One specific influence was the image the Christians developed of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The image was borrowed from the Nabataeans of their queens who were both rulers and goddesses.

  • @GetToDaChoppaaa

They didn't "borrow" architectural ideas from anyone. This is uniquely Nabataean (Arabic) architecture. The Roman touch you see on the Treasury was done by the Romans when they occupied the city after it had been built for centuries. They erased the original Nabataean facade and chiseled Greco-Roman motifs. The closest style of architecture that resembles Petra is the Assyrian but the Nabataeans preceded the Assyrians in their culture.

  • HEEY GUYSS :D IM FROM JORDAN !! AND IM PROUD TO BE JORDANIAN !! AND PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT RELIGIONS CUZ THERES CHRISTIAN TOO IN THIS BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY AND IM A CHRISTIAN GIRL :)

  • @HaddadMais, Hi

    I'm sorry,

surely i know there are christian people in Jordan, and it's an absolutely peaceful country, and respectful to everyone.

But I also know that for many people (in most countries, not only Jordan), religion is more culture than faith to people. Many say "I'm christian" or 'I'm muslim", but they don't change their way of life..

I just wanted to know if I could find a living christian community, where I can pray and sing.

    Ps let me know!

Thx a lot, and sorry again

  • @genilicious91 yup u can find a living christian community ! and theres alotta churches in jordan !

btw welcome and why are u sorry ??

  • @HaddadMais ok thx, and qorry cuz u seemed "vexed" about my question, and becuz i keep "talking about religion" though it's not really about religion.

ok whatever, thnks for ur answer!

  • @HaddadMais

I'm not sure what you mean "stop talking about religion cuz theres Christian too in this beautiful country"

    Isn't Christianity a religion?

  • @shomzabe yeah its a religion!

  • @HaddadMais

That's why I was puzzled why you want people to stop talking about religion because you're a Christian girl !!

  • @shomzabe

    dont stop talkin' !!

it's none of my bzns !

i forgot about the whole thing

  • @HaddadMais

    Shukran Mais :0)

  • @shomzabe 3afon ! But Why ?!

  • Comment removed

  • Petra was build by the Nabateans.

That culture was naturally Aramaic; they wrote a letter to Antigonus in Syriac letters, and Aramaic continued to be the language of their coins and inscriptions when the tribe grew into a kingdom.

  • @suryoyoono it seems Greek to me or Roman

  • thumbs up if you have been to Petra.

  • I went there last week......Petra should be included in The Seven Wonders of the World....very nice place to visit..

  • A place where Esau should not be allowed, he destroys everything that he touches!

  • @emanxavier Shut up and go back to your racist BHI cult. According to you Esau is the white man(a lie), the white man does nothing but make what he touches better, you go to an all white town (what few there are left) and you will find they are better maintained, cleaner & safer LOL. Besides Petra is in EDOM & Edom belongs to the Edomites whoever they may be.

  • be so sweet if the holy grail was really there.....(i love Indiana jones)

  • But rose-red as if the blush of dawn, that first beheld them were not yet withdrawn; The hues of youth upon a brow of woe, which Man deemed old two thousand years ago, match me such marvel save in Eastern clime, a rose-red city half as old as time.

  • The greatness of Petra is further evidence of the amazing people and culture that existed in the middle east before they were enslaved by the mind virus known as Islam.

  • @JPinLA ur such a sick person.... Islam got nthn to do with this video so shut ur mouth u stupid sick racist... Get a life punk

  • @jordan225860 Racist? Where did you get that from what I said? I think that Islam has destroyed every country it has taken over, Jordan especially. It is racists who say that the lack of achievement of Arab people is the result of some genetic inferiority. I am arguing the exact opposite. Every evidence from pre-Islamic times is that the Arab people had an amazing, creative and intelligent culture. Unfortunately, their greatness is now enslaved and destroyed by the mind virus Islam.

  • Beautiful sites like Petra and other locations around the world prove that religion is fake. Everybody who is not a "sheep" knows that "beings" came from another planet and genetically engineered our kind but our naive ancestors thought that they were gods and then the "white man" roman catholics raped and exploited a false theory called religion.

  • @zodiak650 or those BEINGS are nephilim aka fallen angels who are lying and deceiving ignorant man to make them think they are some ancient beings from outer space who will use all of these artifacts of old to try to prove their case. Jesus is alive, He will return, and by prophecy, He will smite these creatures and send them to hell with all the humans who will worship and follow them. Do not be deceived, eternity is at hand. Seek Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, the light.

  • Beautiful video!!! Thank you for sharing! Thanks for "more info" also!!!!!!!!! :))

  • @killermommythemommy

This city was not made for your enjoyment. When being build, the thoughts of whiny tourists was not in minds of the Nabataeans. It's only 2 kms so suck it up and marvel at the beauty and the magic that you have been lucky enough to lay your eyes on and be grateful for the opportunity.

  • Absolutely breathtaking, but can you go there on a day tour from Sharm el Sheikh?

  • Jesus???? Petra was built by the nabateans, and then conquered by Rome. the reason of why the city is carved in stone is unknown. the building at the end of the long narrow gorge is called the Khizane (which means storage/treasury in Arabic).

  • does this have anything to do with jesus

  • why the round load baring poles columns that support nothing?

  • any body from petra here

  • i got to there with my school the seeq is to long and makes you tired

  • 2 kilometeres is not long lol

  • Go there it's magical...

  • tu me dices. aqui

  • I'm planning to go there this summer. It looks so surreal.

  • Polecam ten Cud Świata kazdmu !!!!! Naprawdę warto tam się wybrać

  • Can anyone provide a source of the magnificent programme music accompanying this video - please?

We would love to get it on CD.

  • My mum named me Petra. :) Beautiful place... :D

  • I was there 3 days ago. Extraordinary. Thanks for this video.

  • Thank you for sharing this video. I have always dreamed of going to Petra, but I probably never will. This is almost as good as being there. Awesome work! Music very fitting and beautiful, as well.

  • For God sake! don't say that, you have to visit Petra,, it's amazing,, I have been there twice,, the first time was before about 11 months with my family,, and the second time was with the Uni. in last March ,,, I remember When I saw the first thing in Petra " Al-Khazna " for the first time- you can see it here at 0:30 ,, It ,, literally ,, took my breath away! and it's nothing hard to come here to Jordan and go to Petra ,, I think you have to ,, it's nothing less than the Egyptian pyramids!!

  • awesome how it was litrerally carves into the rock...love the music by the way.

  • Right there, in that narrow gap, we shall make our stand and we shall win against the mortals. All hail the Immortals!

  • Really Wonderful

  • GREAT

  • Petra the home of the cave dwellers,Edomites the real red people that burn in the Sun, children of Esau........read Gen 25: 19-30

  • Ne mogu da verujem da je "ovakvo nesto" prelepo sagradjeno jos u prvom veku !

Nemam reci, volela bih je obici !

Ta zelja me prati jos odavno...odlican

izbor fotorgafija i muzike Pirataraul svaka cast .

  • I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of visiting the Petra when I was very young, and on a family trip to Israel.. Even then, I was still awestruck by it.. The complexity of the architecture, and the detail..

Plus, it was REALLY hot there.. If anyone plans on visiting, make sure to pack plenty of water.. Especially if you go in the summer, like I did.

  • So many nabateans died building this and they actually started from the top and made their way down :) the romans invaded afterwards and looted the city, they then made another Roman city called Jerash which is in Jordan :)

  • i'd like to know more bout it. where did you find such facts bout how they built the building? i somehow think the design looks like those in greece. if romans invaded the city...then ya...it makes sense..

  • well i visited the site, and the guide took us around and was explaining a lot. Yes, the site does actually have some greek charaterisicts and even some egyptian for that matter. the romans didnt really have a big effect on the buildings themselves, just the looting of the city. You may notice that the pillars look roman, but the designs were copied from the romans, the romans didnt build them. The exact dates of the nabatean settlements are un known but they dont go past 6C BC. :)

  • petra is in Jordan and this clip has pictures fron Jerash , and Madaba too,

  • whoa...how did the ancient people make such huge yet beautifully crafted monuments?

  • Slaves. A Dur

  • what's the name of the song?

cual es el nombre de la canción?
