  • isnt it electric start??

  • @thepitbikedude yeah but it had a recoil too

  • Is a 2008 Baja Wilderness Trail 400 4X4 a good quad for just using it in a farm? Please reply.

  • @xxxKULLARxxx I would stay away from these chinese quads.....we didn't buy this one we won it and then I sold it. I would recommend you look at Yamaha Big Bear 4x4's and Honda Ranchers.

  • baja motorsports suck ballz

  • I've had 2 Baja's-the wilderness 90u and the wilderness 250u. The 90 only lasted a year but every time we rode it, there was always something that had to be fixed. The 250 though is much better. It has lasted 2 years and only recently we have had to fix it. But I also say the parts department is horrible - it was very difficult to get the part I needed and once it was ordered, it took forever for them to ship it.

  • those bikes are decent like they aint the best but theyll get the job done good, only problem is you wont get parts for them, once you order them they never come in and you just gotta redneck something up

  • Comment removed

  • their customer service sucks balls, my baja gokart has been on the sidelines for months kuz i cant find parts

  • does it have reverse

  • yes

  • knock off bike

  • I have had one of these units since April 2006. I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with it. The only thing I had a problem with was the rubber vent hoses for the brakes and rear differential. They cracked so I replaced them with new ones from a local parts store. These are made by Jianshe; which is a division of Yamaha in China. They use the ex-beartracker tooling. You can go to Yamaha and ask for the part you need for a 2004 Beartracker.

  • I have the same exact quad, I just bought it used for 650. Now i here like a knock in the engine. It is almost as loud as the muffler. Can anyone help me

  • it could b the clutch, my moto-4 does that and someone told me it was probably the clutch going out of adjustment

  • @PowerRider16 the clutch would not cause that, it could be detonation, where the spark plugs timing is off so it fires to early and the piston slams into the bottom of the cylinder. could be other things but a knock is bad news for a bike.

  • you might need to adjust the timing chain

  • or it could be the valve clearance.....

  • could be, clutch, cam chain, piston, or crank shaft. maybe its time for a rebuild.

  • how much did it origonally cost?

  • idk we won it so we only had to pay gift tax which was $120. i think it sells for around 1900. but this is a limited edition. baja makes most of them camo, not red

  • Baja are a kn ock of of Yahmaha. But I love baja

  • yeah i figured out that baja is a Yamaha knock-off a long time ago but i made this vid b4 i knew that. i looked at the fenders and thought "Honda rancher knock-off" but under those the chassis and motor are Yamaha knock-offs

  • Polaris is shit, I hve a polaris 425, I would trade it for a 250 anytime, it barely works because i gunned it and I snapped the throttle cable and wrecked the motor baaad. Baja are kinda good, I would still buy one

  • There good.. Baja are very good starters

  • It's ok except in winter. They come with terrible plugs too so put in an NGK and it should be better

  • how fast duz that quad go?

  • 55mph

  • Baja = Fall Apart, do not buy one.

My muffler has fallen off like four times.

Yamaha or Polaris are mutch better.

  • not polaris just yamaha

  • what u tihnk baja is badd? man i love mine lol

  • just leave it off dumbass

  • $120 is all I would pay for Baja Junk! I got the 250 Dirt Bike and it has been falling apart since day 1.

  • I don't know about that, I have the Baja X250 dirt bike and it is super high quality and I absolutely love it, almost never clean it and it has never crapped out on me. I too have a Honda CRF 250R and it is simply superior but for the price for a Baja I still think they are worth at least 4 times of what you pay for them.

  • i have the baja 50cc dirt bike

it is good but i noticed it also dose not like the cold and the chain drive when i move mine to it make alot of nicees like somthing is lose

  • My friend has an 01 or 02 Honda Fourtrax 350 and it seems to have the same effect with the sound made by the shaft and differentail

  • yeah i don't know what causes that, my moto-4 is like soundless. maybe yamaha was and is really great at making good shaft drive stuff

  • doesnt dat have electric start???? How do u think apolw would do on it

  • yeah it has electric start but i use the pull start sometimes. i did in this video cause i wanted to see how quick it would start like that. i don't think it would do very good with a plow

  • i have a baja 90 had it now for 7 years and she still runs to this day now my lil sis rides it and i got a honda rancher 350 looks like your baja

  • hey cool and yeah honda ranchers look so much like my baja!

  • CAN U GET A VID OF IT IN SECOND GEAR..

  • it was in third gear it's just not a fast quad tard

  • the truth is --yamaha had 180,000 spare beartracker 250 atv's in japan and they wanted to move them,so they gave licence to a chineese firm to redress them in new plastic under yamaha supervision and sell them at large discount's--they are 98% pure yamaha beartracker 250---------not all baja models are yamaha but the canadian tire 4x4 400 is an older model fin cooled yamaha bigbear or kodiak 400

  • idk if i beleive that..... what about the motors? they kinda look like yamaha but sure don't act like it. and all the rubber and plastic parts on this quad are junk (unlike yamaha). overall it's just not good enough to even hint at being yamaha work.

  • anybody who knows quads will know that the baja 250 is a yamaha beartracker 250with different plastic

  • dude i know quads now i made this video a long time ago when i had just started riding quads and i accidentally called it a honda rancher but yeah i noticed after i made this video that it's designed way different, the engine looks almost like the engine on my yamaha so i kinda started to figure it's closer to a yamaha. but the fenders are kinda like honda utility quads....

  • Baja is garbage, I bought the 400 4x4 only lasted a year for me, so i turned it into my project atv, I swaped out the motor and put a yamaha bruin 350 motor inside, runs like majic and is reliable now, love it, gonna swap the electronics out this year too

  • plz plz plz save ur money baja motorsport are garbage!! i buy i baja in december and it sparted to fuck up in march. they dont tell u that its going to mess up until it happens. those things are meant to last for about 6 month. do not waist ur money on any kind of tune ups and buy a real brand!!!!!trust me i have a baja 250 and there are so many problem starting from the chain to the carb... so just get a real one!!!

  • hey bro just some info my buddy bought one and 2 weeks in he blue the engine he bought 2 more they all had major problems he decided to go with a brand name, the company is small and has very poor customer service, PLEASE buyer beware on these machines both 250 and 400 4x4 i recommend the brand new arctic cat 700 efi 4x4 mud pro it comes stock with 28 on 14 a winch and hand gards AND a factory snorkal all for less than $12.000 trust me the best investment u will ever make.

  • are you sure it was a Baja?

btw most Yamahas come with factory snorkel air intakes and they are the best quads you can get.

  • hmm...

  • didn't you win this in a draw or something?

  • yeah I did! How'd you know?

  • i really don't know, did you mention it in one of your videos? if not then im scaring myself cuz i dunno how i new that...

  • no I didn't mention it in any videos. I said it in a reply to a comment on this video a long time ago, but that's it. You guessed right. lol that's weird that you just guessed and got it right!

  • i dunno man. For the money (now 2500$ on sale) i guess its ok. Is it semi auto??? Not sure since u had it in gear with no clutch but i could be wrong.

I think 250cc is absolutely too small. I have a raptor 660cc and its not nearly enough power so i would suggest baja puts in a chain drive with at least 450cc to give it more power.

I dont trust chinese quads at all ever since i rode my friends 150cc raptor clone. Full of problems, drum brakes, and suspension was terrible.

  • yeah it's semi auto, so it has an auto clutch. yeah i slightly changed my opinion of it. I recommend other quads now. it is underpowered and has pretty bad suspension, a 6 inch jump (lol that's not a jump) bottoms it out easily.

  • i got a doodlebug my baja and it broke 2 days later with only 4 hours on it

  • I have a 2005 250 wilderness, tranny broke putting it into gear. After 6 months and 2 dealers later, told me noone can get parts.I called baja myself after 9 attempts i finally got through and they told me its been discontinued and parts are no longer avaible. So my 2,500 quad is junk because of one single gear they dont sell anymore.Dont waste your time or money, they might look nice but good luck fixing them !!!!!!

  • My cousin has a camo one from canadian tire, and it suprisingly keeps up with my Kawasaki 360 for a little while

  • how fast does your baja 250 atv going (mph)

  • it's not super fast, it tops out at about

    45-50mph

  • i have the mini vershon

  • If you don't want to spend the money on a yamaha or honda and you have good mechanical skills, tools and a welder then Baja is ok.......

  • ..... I have one of their buggys and I've had to re-weld many things on it. There is something always broken on it that needs to be fixed. I've had hondas and yamahas before and I've never had or seen such cheap quality, but keep in mind that you're only paying 1/3 of a japanese, quality vehicle. I don't think I'll ever buy anything else from baja motorsports again and if my guess is right they will be out of business in the next couple of years. just my 2¢.

  • its funny hes like it doesnt have as much power as this machine lol its like a 1970 hahha

  • yeah the yamaha is old it's a 1989. it has almost no suspension

  • actually...no i really dont like the sound of that engine...sounds like my lawn mower...and i would much rather have a quality japaneese bike/atv that a chineese knock-off POS

  • baja is also affordable, reliable, and the performance can be matches with top brands.

  • that does a good job of describing the quality of baja!

  • dont ever buy there minibikes there junk i have one its a peice of shit just so you know dont buy one there baja heat is bucket of bolts.

  • baja is a great company. just dont fall for stuff online cause its all junk. baja is the best "off-brand" around. ive had mine for 3 years. no problems.

  • have you ever bought a quad online?

  • i bought a 125cc road bike online and it was pure junk. the thing worked for like a day and it broke. you get what you pay for.

  • your shaft drive makes that noise untill its broken in, the grease gets in the shaft after about 20 hours, its still packed up in the top

  • yeah i bet that's it

  • at pep boys it cost 2,500 i thought

  • baja is a good company but tuff on my walet i have the baja heat 6.5hp and the baja vision motorcycle both run good my brother has the phinix the brakes have to be cheked and tightened when you first buy them

  • Hey, check all of the nuts and bolts make sure everything is tight put lock tight glue on them all(even if it has it already)because my 70 dirt bike the rear shock fell off and the swing arm

got loose because they get loose from it vibrating and shaking......just dont want you to have to go through the same trouble as me:)

  • I did that once but I'll check it again.

  • How much was it it seems good, i have a baja 70 dirt bike i agree it runs like your 4-wheeler, but im thinking about a quad, so how much is it?

  • $1400 I think.

  • Thanx Alot!!! Now another question i have. Whats the retail price?

  • ummm.......not quite sure. we got this awhile ago. I think it's $1400 now.

  • REALLY!!!! did u get it at Canadian Tire?

  • Nope. The only place I know of that you could get it is at Pep Boys. We got ours at a Farm and Fleet, but I don't think they have this anymore.

  • Would you recommend this product to an outdoorsman who would use it for big game hunting?

  • Yeah, I would. This things doin good, we've had it for quite a while now and it's still working good (especially now that it's broke-in).

  • im not a big baja fan now aflter i compared them to other quads. but still, there cheap which is good for people on a budget

  • have you tried the Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI, they are the most poweful 500 i have ever seen. they can handle loads that my Grizzly 700 cant do.

  • unfortunately I have never gotten to try one out, I'll have to see if I can sometime!

  • i dont know whats with those sportsmans, mine is a harder worker than my 700 grizzly but my neighbors wont haul crap.

  • is it a manual cluch?

  • no, auto clutch. It has whats called a hydrostatic transmission.

  • yesterday i traded my neighbor my baja and an old moto-ski capri i had lying around out back for his polaris sportsman 500 EFI, i put some gas in it, changed the oil, and the spark plugs and got her runnin. its a pretty stong machine

  • yeah you just have to break it in.....i have the mini baja....i love it i put a torque A verter and i had my freinds dad whos a cop clock me at 54 mph i love mine

  • yeah, torque-a-verters are great, they have better ratios than a transmission.

  • baja ATV's are pretty good, your right, sometimes they dont seem so powerful but another problem is that they are sometimes very hard to start even in warmer conditions

  • Actually, I made this vid a while ago. I should make an update about the baja. Anyway, now that it's nearly broke in, it starts pretty good in any conditions.

  • i have a baja motorsports dirt runner 125 but the thing wrong with your quad might be it need some oil...to warm up better is put choke on...my baja is awsome ive had for a year about and runs awsome

  • I checked the final gear oil-it's full! Yeah, I start it on full choke when it's cold, but sometimes it still takes a long time to start.

  • something i have noticed when i got these chinese atv is that the spark plug are shit (get an NGK) and the carb just needs adjustment with the gas/air mixture even scene it run great!! and starts first pull in cold

  • yeah NGK is awesome! i run those in my other quads and snowmobiles and they last forever! yeah good idea i guess we never checked or changed the plug in it i should do that the stupid thing WILL NOT start in the cold we have to keep it inside

  • really? wow i was using mine the other day and it started first kick start on chock mine yamaha ss440 does not even do that, it take 2 pulls, but try and tell me if it works?
