  • not my cup of tea,pal fukkit im off for a JD and a doobie

  • Utter shite ! I am with the Stratking on this one. Quite possibly the most pretentious rubbish ever performed at this annual event. I was there too and like so many others I stuck it for a while before drifting off to the blues tent ! Thank God there were some decent bands there ( I think one was Cheerie Lee Louis and the other was the Blues Shift........both a million times better than this appalling tripe )

  • The tune was composed/written by Berlioz.......

  • The Enid will be doing a very special performance at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on Sat 15th October '11.

We have the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra joining us, with a strong choir of 200! This is a TRULY UNIQUE occasion. Plus, don't miss this EXCLUSIVE opportunity to see author and poet, Alan Moore accompany 'The Mirror of Love'.

Tickets are selling fast, so please visit thsh.co.uk to get your seat at this milestone performance.

  • Not heard of this band before today.... I am very impressed with them! I hope to see them live one day...I'm sure it would be an amazing experience!

  • Utter crap

  • Considering the amount of records The Enid produced, plus the amount of bands that get a chance via The lodge studios.. They are one of the best bands in the UK musically and as an inspiration to many new bands.

  • You could argue that the theme tune to Eastenders is " thoughtfully composed and well arranged etc", but that does'nt mean to say that it is not shite !! I opened my large musical ears, gave them a deserved listen, and then decided that they were the most appalling pretentious, tripe that I had ever heard in 30 years ! Judging by the hundreds of others who drifted out of their set, I don't think I was alone in my thoughts !! who really knows....or cares ?

  • @stratking69er

The Enid are an exceptional band with a back catalogue which is a bit inconsistent but frequently brilliant. If you don't get them, that's just your hard luck. I do.

  • Winners of the most boring band ever !! Well done lads. The good news is they are sure to dissapear up their own anal cavities very soon. It was so bad I had to go and listen to a bluesband in the little tent !! Way better !!

  • @stratking69er My my, musically what small ears you have. I love blues and front a band myself but I still have room for this band in my collection. Any thoughtfully composed, well arranged and passionately played music deserves a listen.

  • This piece of music has had many incarnations and evolutions over the years and all the past titles are correct, but as the last one from Arise and Shine was fully titled 'Apolcalypse - Judgement Day' I suppose that is the correct one.

Whatever the title, it is a superb piece, always brilliantly played and very stirring and evocative, but then again so is all Enid music.

So good to see their much deserved widening audience and appreciation at last.

  • I think this is "Judgement". "The Last Judgement" was the title on the re-recorded album version from the 80s.

  • I have corrected the title. I'm sure you are right. Its a long time since I've listened to any Enid and just went by his announcement.

  • As Steve says, this is actually "The Last Judgement" - but it segued into In The Region of The Summer Stars and it's from the album of the same name.

It was a stunning performance ! So glad I was there.

  • Brilliant as ever! Only thin is , this is 'Judgement' not 'in the region of of the Summer Stars'. I wish I could have been there, and am looking forward to Birmingham CBSO in Oct 2011
