Dodge had more mods to it, but larger engines also respond better to boost in the sense that you give the EVO X 6 psi(stock is like 14 I think, don't quote me on that) power will go way down from what it is now and will have absolutely no hope of winning. Charger should have won. If the launch and the wheel spin were corrected the Charger would have ate him alive. However he should vs a car pushing no where near the horsepower or tq he is pushing. Both cars are awesome however. Charger R/T's and SRT's get dogged on here for being slow sometimes, but they are usually running cars that r much smaller and lighter and not in their class of car. Stop and and think those are 4200lb cars with no gear and they run very well against cars in their class.

from what i understand, the evo is made more for rally type races, not strait drag races so of course the charger will take that,

if you throw in some tight turns and hard curves, the evo will take it

see how the evo has better acceleration, it would kill probably kill the srt8 accelerating out of a turn, and much more control at higher speeds while going into a turn.

but in a strait line, the more powerful car will take it thats a no brainer.

Of course, the Evo is one of the greatest handling cars in the world and destroys everything but $50k+ C6 and more expensive cars. Think of it as a junior Nissan GT-R; it kills everything in it's price range. When the Evo X debuted it was included in "Best handling car" type tests in the auto mags (against M3's, Porsches, Z06, etc).

It also responds well to modifications- much easier than a Subaru. It's also built better/tougher than a Subaru.

@strmchsr902004 Yea no joke, my buddy with this Evo X got it tuned on E85 and is running 30 lbs boost now. Huge difference.. We did a quick pull from 50 mph and man we were neck and neck. I'm not making excuses but I did have some issues with the tranny shifting too early. I just found out my diablosport can reset the tranny adaptation feature. Now it shifts right under redline. After I get some new tires and after my buddy gets a better clutch we will post another race video.

@nhardy1962 Oh no! You know I thought that's what happened to mine almost 2 years ago, both spark plugs in cylinder 1 closed had them replaced and it's been ok. With the Charger running strong still and being it isn't a daily driver I kinda dropped the ball on getting my 426. But being I want more power and boost it's still a must do eventualy.

@nhardy1962 I'm not saying mine isn't broken I still take it a little easy just incase, I don't let it wind all the way up since the problem happened. Probably shouldn't be driving it, but man seriously it still drives perfect. If I had all the money for the swap out I'de do it right now. Let me know how yours goes I'm anxious to see and hear some videos :D

@vietphatness The factory car is great.My car is supercharged.The piston ring lands are to weak to supercharge for long with high boost.The factory configureation got 22 miles per gallon with 370 rwhp

Nice I still like that sound!!!! Smokin Joe should be your plate!! I hate too ask but you where talking about spinning I hope you ate turning off your ESP so you can burn both. And act your autostick into 1st then hold over and let the autostick digg for you.

@cdd75pa Yea I turn off ESP all the time, an I also use autostick. It feels like autostick shifts a little early on its own.  But I'll use it this way till I get the forged motor put in then I'm gonna use the Diablosport to turn off auto upshifting and then shift it myself. :) I wouldn't call me smokin joe just yet, I raced another buddies evo 9, he had almost 500 whp 27lbs boost and he only weighed 2900 lbs he gutted his car. I couldn't get him :( But soon..... :D
