@buhlayke I feel your pain, I saw a shiny Silcoon once in Eterna Forest and it was the 1st Pokémon game I ever played so I didn't know y in the world it was ORANGE so I figured it was rare so I tried catching it but since it was my first time in Eterna Forest I was with Cheryl and CHERYL'S CHANSEY KILLED IT, so I reset my game, even after not saving in a really long time, I checked 2 see if it would come back but it never ever did and I never saw another shiny...

I caught a shiny geodude in crystal, from the first cave :D I was actually just looking for a teddiursa, but I got somthing better. Also I have got a shiny smootchum from an egg, but I guess that's pretty common? :p

My first ever wild shiny was like 2 weeks after silver came out and I was like 6, I found a shiny raticate, I was like omg im killin this thing... don't know why I didn't catch it

Awesome, only shiny I ever encountered was a Zubat in Dark Cave at age 7. I had no clue, but my only poke was Totodile, at level 12, he'd have 1HKO'd the thing at level 4, so I threw my last pokeball and it didnt work, I was so mesmerized by it I reset to see if it was still there. :(

I also got a shiny Tangela level 39 in crystal and I used a master ball to catch it because sometimes they flee and the location was at silver cave and now it is at level 70 with the attacks solarbeam, giga drain, vine whip, and hyper beam. I also caught a shiny krabby in pokemon silver but i no longer have it and i also got a shiny tyrogue from the daycare center in crystal when the odd egg hatched it was shiny and i later evolved it to a hitmonchan.

I was fishing by cerulean cape for a poliwag so i could complete my pokedex on firered. All other poliwags died. Then a shiny one appeared

I caught a Poliwag in the beginningtoo. Not shiny, though :/ It's now a Poliwrath. Some fisher I gave my number to gave me a water stone so I used it on Poliwhirl.

The only thing is, is that it is shiny. But the sheer fact that it is only a 1 out of 8192 chance to get a shiny is really crazy.

cool! :) on my crystal, when you're getting the egg from mr pokemon, i found a shiny sentret. i couldnt catch it...then in the bug-catching contest, i caught a shiny caterpie :3 on soulsilver i caught a shiny hoothoot and tentacool, and got a shiny drowsee and poliwrath from the gts :3 i feel lucky

@nathan2431 Then go chain on pkmn Diamond/Pearl/Platinum or breed with a japanese/europese pokémon with a pokémon from another country (like USA) in any gen III,IV and V game. In gen II you can get a shiny easily if you let a shiny breed, the pokémon that hatches from the egg has a chance of 1/64 to be shiny. Oh yeah, another way to get a shiny: Just random encounters or soft-reseting :)
