The Bible records that the land of Israel was lost in two stages. The 12 tribes were split into two kingdoms. (1 Kings 11:9-13) The 10 Northern tribes formed a kingdom called Israel with its capital as Samaria and the 2 Southern tribes formed a kingdom called Judah with its capitol Jerusalem.

A divided capital is the wrong move, economically and in terms of security for both nations. It is not a realistic foundation for lasting peace in the future.

When the US hears "settlements", we think of our tent cities, built by people run from their own homes, scammed by the govt's lack of oversight in its own affairs. Jerusalem isn't a city of 'settlements'. They are people wanting to live in their own lands, and go about life. Bravo for them! The world has MUCH bigger problems than trying to divide this city. We, each country to its own, should take care of sick, poor, impoverished, dying, and displaced, and lead others to peace by example.
Why does the whole world think they can tell Israelis where to live or not in their own capital city??!! God even warns the nations not to meddle in the affairs of Jerusalem - as Zechariah prophesied, if they 'burden themselves' with it, they will be 'crushed' by it!!
Good to hear the truth being told!!! Note Obama's backtracking from his promises just one year ago! The Jewish areas of East Jerusalem are no more "settlements" than are the suburbs of Wash DC! Let the USA first "pull back" to the original 13 Colonies before telling Israelis where they can live or not! There isn't room for 2 "states" in the tiny land of Israel - let the Arabs there who want to stay there, do so in peace - or move a few miles to the real Palestinian state - Jordan.
