1.- Dolphins can see as much as we do underwater. They use mainly echolocation...with this sistem they cant sense the net as one piece blocking the way... they only sense the thick knots and that looks to them like simple dot´s in the water...nothing to worry about
2.-As dolphins can often be found swimming together with schools of yellowfin tuna. Used as a way to find the tuna as they are easier to spot. The dolphins are sometimes knowingly being netted together with the fish

once they tried to conduct an experiment to determine how good dolphines problem solving skills were, unfortunately they let the dolphines stay in the pen while they were setting it up so the dolphines went straight up and took all the reward fish without having to do the test haha.
Elephants beat dolphins in terms of intelligence hands down. Lowest amount of instinctual behavior, more brain neurons than any dolphin species and an emotional intelligence than surpasses dolphins. It's just a catch phrase to say "dolphins are more intelligent than any other animal". Actually, it's probably better to say "dolphins may be intelligent, but it is difficult to compare between diverse animal species".
