A faster way is to look in his inventory and exit. Keep doing that and the books in his Inventory will keep adding up. I let it get to 300 books before I took them all. Thumbs up so people can see, please.

@munkeybrains ehhh, this is cheating but it works... bring up the console (press tilde ~ button) and type this command: player.additem f 100000 where f = 00000f (hex code for gold) and 100000 = the amount of the item you want, in this case gold. you can literally get every item and every task through console commands, and you can make any character in the game (almost any) appear next to you or go to them, with console commands. but that takes away some of the fun.

OORRRR. Once you have 4 oghma infiniums (Oghma bookshelf dupe glitch) you can get 8 by adding all 4 books when you do the glitch, and 16 by doing it again, and 36 ect. The Markarth house has 9 shelves (It messes up you bookshelf and makes it unusable) but you get like 60 oghma infiniums and each is worth 2500 gold.. Invest 500 gold in the riverwood trader and his gold goes to 12 k, keep selling oghmas till you have 100 k

Bring a horse so you can take as many as you want. You can fast travel with a horse when overloaded with items. The last time I went I had like 1000 of them!!

You know how the book keeps coming back, if you put another book in the skeleton it will double by how many you put in there. So if you put in 100 it will have 200.

Yo want to cheat this too after killing the skeleton holding the book which you loot the book from. Loot him enough to where you can buy a house or if you already have one pick up one of his bones and jump to your house. Drop the bone and you have a infinete amount of books at your disposal with out going into the ice age lolz. Like for all to see. O yeah btw dont get shot in the knee by a arrow.

OK I went back and reloaded.... I did it again.... so far... I made sure to kill the skeleton WITH the book right in front of it's resting place after it rises. I made sure to kill ALL the other ones down on the ground, nowhere near the top of the structure. I had a mercenary with me. Traded with her, then loaded up another time myself. I then fast traveled to my house in Whiterun and stored all of it in my chest. then fast traveled again to the location and the skeleton and books are STILL here

I did this and it was very easy and worked. I was by myself and took as many as I could carry. I only encountered 2 sabertooths and a wolf. I was at level 9 and it was very easy to get to. The trick unfortunately for ME... only worked the FIRST time. I have traveled back and the dead skeletons are still there, but none of them have the book anymore :( It seems to be a one-hit wonder... anyone else???

For those of you who don't want to waste their lives gathering books for a measly 1000 gold profit or so:

-Enter the game

-Open console via ` , which is under your "Escape" button.

-Type in: Player.additem 0000000F 100000

-Profit.

My journey here I had a Cave Bear, Ice Wraith, two Ice Wolves, and a Dragon attack me, in addition to the dragon that lives at the top of the hill buzzing me repeatedly as I looted but he never attacked, You can also go around to the right from sightless pit it's the better real trail.

Just a tip dont take the book over and over again loot his body, take nothing then loot it again and the books wil start to build up if u dont take them i got 200 in like maybe 2-3 minutes and took it all at once

After u get over encumbered, if u search the skeleton but don't take the book, they will accumulate in the skeletons inventory so that when u come back you can just search once and have a whole stockpile of them

lol you are lucky. or just really low levelled. When I ran up this path this morning there were 3-4 ice wraiths around and a mean ass cave bear at the foot of the path. Not to mention a dragon right outside of winterhold :(

you cn also carry the bone back to the pit and drop it behind the building so it dosnt roll away so you dont have to walk back after fast traveling to the pit. long press x on the skeleton to carry the bones .

@MalavarTCOne just take ur horse there and loot 1000+ or as much as u want u will be over encumbered but get back on ur horse then go to the town u wish to sell them to I took 4500 got on my horse and got to town over a period of a few days I was able to sell all of them
