  • This makes me hungry :]

  • Wow. It's amazing just how disgusting the US meat market is. The blood thing really is bad, especially when the US has been getting on Canada's case about BSE. We banned the practice of using any animal byproducts in animal feed due to disease control concerns.

I cant say as I've ever seen a lot like this before, either. We do have feedlots, but they're heavily regulated because of the large amounts of manure they produce, and the cows aren't raised there, just 'finished' for a few months.

  • i really enjoyed the first meatrix but the second is grossly inacurate about the dairy industry as it is today

  • this is bullshit!!!! there arent any farms like this...

  • o ya go drive around back roads some time i have seen plenty of them im 13 and havnt eatin meat in 3 years cuz i saw one

  • go vegan!

  • This makes me be more aware of things than when i see written info. Good job

  • Chickens and pigs falling in love, lol

  • i love these vids

  • the US really needs to put in some higher standards about the food system

outlawing the growth hormone like europe and canada have would be a good start. or making it illegal to give animals antibiotics with their food

  • my boyfriend's dad is a dairy farmer. his farm has been classed as A-grade, there are loads of spaces for the cows to roam, and the barns where they sleep are roomy and not crowded. Please everyone support their local farmers :)

  • If i see ONE dairy factory like THIS, i would throw up. Plus, this is pretty much all reversed. I cant believe McDonalds forces ppl to eat dead cows with a 50% more chance on Mad Cow disease.

Srsly this is like Grocery Store Wars.

  • This is awful! I can't believe people can still eat non organic food. Eeek

  • Believe it, the world ain't perfect. Get used to it.

I am for organic food but non organic will never go away, ever.

That is unless all governments actively tracks down gone wrong farms and shut them down.

But i just dont see the money hungry wolves of all country's do that.

  • This video is horribly warped. I'll just list the issues.

    [BEGIN RANT]

    1. The visual portrayal of dairy cows is all wrong. Dairies can only survive if they are A-grade. Grades are determined by the dairies' cleanliness, which is determined regularly by federal inspectors and a list of very high standards. Any dairy that looked like the ones in this video would be immediately shut down.

    [RANT tbc]

  • [RANT ctd.]

    2. BGH (bovine growth hormone) is a natural hormone that functions to increase the production of milk in dairy cattle. The cattle's lactation period is not extended or warped. What is does is slow the decrease of production after the peak lactation, resulting in more milk per cow per year. The hormone is passed on to the milk, yes, but it is destroyed by pasteurization, saliva, and stomach acid. Neither the cattle nor the consumers are harmed.

    [RANT tbc]

  • [RANT ctd.]

    3. Calves must be separated from their mothers immediately after birth to prevent maternal bonding. If their calves were allowed to bond, then the ultimate separation would stress the cow and her calf, negatively affecting the cow's production and the calf's growth.

    [RANT tbc]

  • [RANT ctd]

    4. I don't know the mechanics involved with feeding calves, but I know the risk of mad cow is very low. The US has one of the best programs to prevent mad cow disease, and it should be noted that only three—let me say that again: only THREE—beef cows have even been diagnosed with the disease. The subsequent herd slaughters, beef recalls, and oaths by Oprah to never eat beef again were positive reactions to prevent any potential damage. And you know what? It worked.

    [END RANT]

  • god.. that is horrible

    animal cruelty makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no problem of ppl eating meat.

i have problem of ppl torturing animals to produce the meat or torture animals for no goddamn reason.. Example: Dogs.

    Or cats

    or even an innocent bunny.

    plz ppl.. we gotta react...

    its horrible!!!!

  • savage you fool when a mammal produces milk with blood from the mamary vein are they dead? i thought not.

  • At the end Leo said that by helping out small dairy factories you'd be stopping the Meatrix, but the Meatrix is the thought of those small dairy factories, so you're actually helping out the Meatrix by doing what they tell you to do, and what they tell you to do is not help out the Meatrix.

    PARADOX!

  • They cut off their tails off to avoid mutilating each other. They would bite each others tails off from the stress

  • That's in the swine industry, actually. It's to prevent cannibalism.

  • POOR COWS

    :~~

  • The part where they show the milk being fed to the calves cracks me up! Study biology and you'll learn that the majority of milk is made out of blood. That is the purpose of the mammory vein. Also they dont just give them any milk, the milk they buy is very pricy.

  • which of course makes the cruel milk industry fine, and excuses the fact that 1/4 of all male calves born in the dairy industry are killed within a week.

  • No, male calves enter the beef side of the cattle industry. Most are sent to feedlots, where dairy steers and cull cows form 20% of the beef you consume. The rest of the male calves are fed milk diets for a year and become veal.

    Get the facts, people.

  • umm again why are their tails chopped off?

  • Because they swish their tails back and forth to keep the flies off of their manure covered butts, which in turn flings manure onto the workers. Their solution is to cut off their tails instead of keeping them clean.

  • but why are their tails cut off?

    it's so cruel.

  • man, keanu reaves is really a bad actor;)

but really, i never knew they fed dead cow's

blood to baby cows! i still wish i didn't but

hey the truth sets you free, right?

  • We have to react! This reality is TERRIBLE !!!

  • Is not about eat meat, with industries or not; is about equality, and freedom, and justice for the animals, animals are not food.

  • i like the Meatrix movies but i must admit that it's a bit disturbing that is find the chicken to be kinda hot

  • The Meatrix is NOT vegetarian propaganda.

It aims to encourage consumers to purchase organic food products and free-range meats.

  • couldnt have said it better myself!

  • Wasn't this featured by Artivist?

  • No matter what we say vegetarians are set in there own mind and will not listen to anyone but there own thoughts. I agree, nothing wrong with eating meat i know a friend who is a Vegetarian and he eats eggs and cheese and also chocolate and chocolate is dairy from cow milk and even his Quorn food uses egg and egg is from animal. But they think its wrong to eat meat lmao.

  • there is a difference between vegan and vegitarian white eine dude vegan is no animal products and vegitarian is no meat so vegitarians eat milk and eggs because they're not meat (eggs are unfertilized yolks) and WE will listen to other ideas part of caring about this stuff is keeping an open mind so go bite your own ass and if you buy organic and grass fed it prevents corporations from making money off of torture animals have feelings too

  • Plants have feelings too you butchers!

  • lol

  • also i would consider eating meat if the meat industry wasn't so damn corrupt and eggs never had life in them. GO VEGITARIAN WOOO!

  • The point is not only becomign vegetarian. The "meat" you eat is disgusting and unnatrual and terrible for you. The point is to buy organic free range meat.

  • Just so you know, these Meatrix movies aren't promoting veteterianism/anti-meat...

  • this is completly taking the piss, ive been to one of these farms on a college trip and this is way over the top

  • Of course, a school trip teaches you the absolute truth... *sigh*

  • If you visit as a tourist, they show you the kid-friendly version (not the main factory).

I went as an investigator, and this doesn't even scratch the surface. I've seen cows' legs collapse beneath them because they stand there all day with no exercise, and cows vomiting in the main feeding trough.

  • true it is mildly over done with the grasslesnes and such but the facts ARE true

    down with MD

  • geez you think they show you what they do to their animals touring the place this movie is actually UNDERexadurated

  • This is an excllent way to make people aware of the great cruelty has bee done to animals as well as to show them that behind the naive act of eating meat is the all chain of freak diseases illness as depression, panic sindrome, and even cancer.

  • The processed food industry is JUST as bad if not more so. Buy from family farms or go self sufficient.

  • This is definently the most disturbing of the trilogy and please note in your description of it that VEIWER DESCRESION IS ADVISED!!!

  • hahaha this is getting better!

  • Presented at Second Globians® world & culture documentary film festival 2006 in Potsdam (Germany, Europe).

  • I became a vegitarian because of this.

  • me too. i used to think all farms were like the small family farms i drive by on the way to my cottage. i assumed all farmed animals lived that way.

  • what they dont mention about the growth hormone is that instead of produceing more milk it produces more puss... you do the math on that one and you'll find where that puss ends up

  • In Finland we don't use hormons and antibiots to cows. Antibiots will be used if cow is sick not to just in case...

  • Sure, I know they treat animals like crap and I'm more than willing to change that, but isn't this vegetarian propaganda?

  • I hope you take the time to watch the movie again, it is actually the opposite of vegetarian propaganda... we are looking for the humane treatment of animals at farms. No hormones, no cages, better treatment, better food.

  • Well, certainly.

  • The whole series is Awesome!! Thank You To the makers !!!

  • But without these kinds of farms and innovations how do you think we are able to support exponential population growth? It's either the meatrix or human population control, which do you want?

  • human population control

  • I used to think that the same may be true-but then I learned that the foods wasted on feeding food animals could be used to feed starving people in less developed countries.

  • key word here is COULD.

the fact is by the time it took to get there, it would have spoiled.

not to mention our country is too greedy to GIVE away food, there'd be no profit. even if it was spoiled food, they would never give it away for free.

  • actually meat is an incredibly inefficient food-it has only 10% of the energy of plant based foods-if youd studied biology you would no this. whats more, you can feed far more people off a field of grain than you can off a field of cows for beef. acutlaly, the only way to sustain teh current popultation is to go vegan and its better for the environment and your health too!

  • i wouldn't mind if you guys did vegetarian propaganda... people are really giving more and more attention to this vegetarian thing

  • Yeah, vegetarians sure want you to buy meat.^

If it was, they'd say "DON'T BUY ANY MEAT." Not, "Buy only this kind of meat."

  • That's horrible and disgusting. Those poor animals. It's enough to make me wanna go vegitarian.

  • im vegearian but i agree with all of you replying to muaka1. even though people should eat meat in the first place, they should at least eat free range.

  • i think you mean shouldN'T

  • People are starting to buy good food and not proced food. they treat cows like they are already dead.

  • These are wonderful, well-made and entertaining snippets of information. Off to Meatrix 2 1/2!

  • i cant beleve how they treat the animals

im sending tnhis to e veryone

  • Dude... Happy food tasted better and is better for you. Try some free range bacon or steak; much more flavorfull, no extra antibiotics, and check this - mad cow disease free.

  • Afraid I say I can't taste a difference

  • Free range doesn't always mean it's happy it's best to eat meat substitute. ^.^v
