My husband and I made the trip to the park in '07. We even checked the website to make sure of the hours, etc. We got there and the park was closed to the public. Some company rented it for the day and we couldn't get in. We left soooo disappointed and then heard the news they were closing. I felt so ripped off.
and whenever i go to the water park now in the present i still see the big dipper and the raging wolf bobs standing. it kills me to see it. it brings back so many memories
me and my friends purposly went there the last day it was open because we heard it was closing. no affense to cedar fair but why the hell would you do that? its been there for 120 years and you ddestroyed memories and a good time for anyone. even though the water park is still there it bites. we would ride the dominator over and over. it was by far the best ride there. i dont see why you would close it? its stupid. oh and thanks for getting rid of the only local sea world.
I miss this park, but the last time I went to GL was in '88. I didn't go to any park for years, and I missed my chance to go before it closed forever. What makes this all the more sad is that two parks were destroyed. The only Sea World in the Midwest was lost as well as GL.
yea i went to sea world there when i was little had fun with grandparents and got to get wet with the whales and went back in 2004 and was sad to see how it changed then. since like 95 ish
wow, i moved to Oregon a few years ago, from ohio. This is the first I heard that they sold geauga lake. I remember being so glad that cedarfair bought it and brought it's true name back.. how sad..

If Geauga Lake continued in 2009, I would go to it. You are so lucky you've been there. I'm was dying to go there.
