The rest were inestigations of deaths "possibly related" to unintended accelerations. That's a big distinction. Compare that to the 120 deaths that NHTSA confirmed to be caused by exploding Firestone tires that Ford put on their vehicles. It's all a matter of perspective.

I have a funny idea. Since G.M., Ford, and Chrysler all have their companys based out of detroit do you think that perhaps we should as American Auto Makers team up against toyota because as much as I pray for their downfall (bankruptcy) I believe that the only way The Big Three will be rid of Toyota will be to team up. for one the prius uses low rolling resistense tires to help it acheive its over rated mpg. these tires only last just a little over 10k. more expensive then paying for the extra fuel, also worst as more tires ending up in landfills. so how did this car give toyota a green image? very highmaintence short life expectancy cars. life expectancy is 100k. i call it disposable. thats not even a break in for an american car. i buy mine with 200k plus.
