@x53234 It was recorded in open A, but they played it onstage in open G. Regardless, those tunings have identical intervals, so it would be played exactly the same either way.
Love the short shorts! Lol, Ive got a pair that are cut off, rolled up, and have the pocket hangin out. Nothin like drivin down the road in a 68 mustang with those on and a vintage The Doors shirt :D
You should try experimenting with different size slides. I bought a steel slide after seeing Pagey's insanely good Earls Court performance, and couldnt get to grips with it until I bought a smaller 3/4 size one.
Hey man..good job! Work on that slide a bit....what helped me with slide is jacking the bridge up to make the strings higer and use a little vibrato in your slide finger/hand. It helps it sound more fluid instead of staccato-like. Nice guitar by the way! Great video!!!
@imemine5 Yeah, I'll work on my slide playing some day. I don't think I'll ever be able to compete with a guy like my brother, who took to slide playing pretty naturally!
@privettricker Thanks for the reply. Your vids are great. I've spent all day learning new songs. Do you know any davy knowls with back door slam???? Would love to learn the song come home.... Check it out.
@RS1Comedy1Vids Well, for a song like this, you can tell it's an open tuning because of the slide work on it. You couldn't play this one properly in standard tuning.
Whats that Gibson Model?

Silly question here, but since you do stuff by ear, how do you know when something is in a different tuning?
RS1Comedy1Vids 1 year ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids Well, for a song like this, you can tell it's an open tuning because of the slide work on it. You couldn't play this one properly in standard tuning.
privettricker 1 year ago
@privettricker Yes, but not all songs that have slide work are in open tunings, nice job!
da324 1 year ago
@da324 Of course. But you can often tell which ones are, by things like open notes, drone notes, octaves.
