can someone tell me why did he say "we do not make a habit of it" at 56?

meaning, we dont habitually pray for other people but only close ones.

Is it haram or makrooh tooften pray for people you dont know, or the whole ummah etc obviously not taking money for it

@lotusefekt i think he meant don't make a habit of it as in make it a career/job lyk sum molvi's and peers make a career out of asking for forgiveness for others.

We shud make repentance for ourselves, and make dua for our parents, siblings, all muslims e.g. in gaza, afghansitan, somalia, pakistan, the living, the deceased, the people we work and study with etc,...

i wud think makin lots of dua is a gd thing, becasue of the reward we get even in the herafter for our answered dua's. salaams

I made a sort of promise that I'd never return to a sin again. However as mentioned by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, it's kinda burdensome upon the one making such oath and hence he should expiate it. I did it by ignorance and I'm not in condition to expiate it i.e. feed 10 people etc. What should I do? Is it alright of me to do so little by little i.e. feeding one or two poor people and then followed by the others and rest through time due to financial constraint?
