what is the point of jug fishing if you don't keep the fish? I can understand fishing with rod and reel, and releasing the fish afterwards due to the sport of the fishing and the actuality of fighting the fish. In my opinion, there is no sporting aspect to jug fishing, so why bother?

Don't really feel like you were running jugs. considering where th jug was placed and where you found it clearly something had been on it. Lucky u didn't snap the line. In South Carolina we run 50 jugs at a time, 4ft leads 6 ft off the bank. Best bait to use is Shrimp a legal bait, the garr don't tend to go after it as much and catfish love it. I usually have about 5-6 jugs "Fish-On" before I even set out one full cove.

when i was just a kid i used to run up and down the bank and i took pop bottles and did this and i had no clue what i was doing i really enjoy catching fish on a pole but jug fishing is fun to but when you dont have a boat you have to swim out in the water to get your jug back lol i was on to something huh :)

milk jugs are shitty. IF the lid ever pops off the jug sinks.  you should super glue them the lids on if you insist on using milk jugs. 2 liters or bleach bottles work way better, especially for bigger fish.

I use jugs sometimes in ponds. The river runs so fast down here a jug woukd be ten miles away in three hours. Thats why I use limb lines. Hey whatever puts meat on the table.:)

im sure there is a "good reason" but im with Steve... your losing alot of the flotation ability when you shrink it. im sure your shrinking it to keep the jug-n-light in place though.

The jug-n-light stays in place all ready it screws on just like the cap/lid.I melt for added strength so when you pick them up they don"t make a sound like befor they whould pop real loud now they don"t pop.Dont sound right but it works ill do a video showing it will make sens then

Dan... i cant believe you use 40lb mono for your jugs..... you need to look into the jug/trot line line. thats what i use, and it works great!
