@BandSniipeZ Yes, I know what you're going through. I have to mess around with the tension of the springs in the back of the guitar while making some major tuning changes. That helps me keep the floating bridge even so the strings don't end up a mile away from the fretboard. It's a bitch so I hardly change tunings or string gauges to save me all the damn headaches.
this is just abit of a thaught but cus of locking nuts is it still possible to drop tune? PELASE REPLY I REALLYY REALLLYYY WANY ONE OF THESE GUITARS 3 YEARS WITH CHEAP 200 QUID YAMMAHA PACIFICA IS TORTURE!!
Yes, it is made in Indonesia, but everything is the same on it; the pickups and the edge III tremelo. It can take a beating before this guitar goes out of tune.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I wrote this back in 2004. It's a short version of it actually. The real version is on my soundclick page. Keep on jammin!
i bought this used, and in great condition, except for a couple of the nuts used to hold the strings on the bridge(the ones to tighten the string holder blocks) are stripped.. so the strings keep popping out. thats why i asked if you knew where i can get new ones haha, and i have some knowledge on adjusting the hight, but if you have any tip you could throw at me it would be greatly appreciated.
Damn, that sucks. I would go to a local repair shop to see how much they would charge. I'm not sure where you could go online. As far as adjusting the height...I assume you're talking about the action. I usually lower the bridge with my allen wrench. I try not to mess with the truss rod too much.
hey there, great shred skills man! i bought this guitar yesterday, and im having trouble stringing it, it keeps popping... any advice or know where i can get new lock nuts?
hey dude just wanna ask, how's the bridge on that one? that is the edge # right? how's the quality coz i've been hearing some bad stuff about it quality wise and i'm thinking of buying the same model...just wanna check anyways cheers mate =)
Well, the bridge is one of those where you have to cut the ball off the string and insert it thru the front of the guitar instead of the back. You gotta tighten the saddle up w/ an allen wrench so it will hold the string in place. I hated this axe at 1st because of the tuning problems it used to give me. I've overcame all that & now I really like this guitar. It stays in tune really well even w/severe trem bar abuse. If you have no patience with guitar maintenace, I wouldn't get this one.
well maybe i can learn to maintain it i guess the edge pro would be better hehe but is the quality of the bridge material of good strong build quality? like the metal that was used to construct the bridge? anyways thanks for the info, whereabouts are you from?
I know that the bridge on this guitar is an EDGE III but I'm not sure how it compares to any other EDGE bridges. As far as I know, it seems like a sturdy bridge. You can whip the trem bar around like a propellar (like the way Vai does on the solo to Shyboy) and it won't hit the fine tuners. I haven't had a problem with it since I got this guitar back in May 2008. I'm actually from South Texas near San Antonio.
Well, as far as the strings go, you have to cut the ball off the string and slip it into the saddle as far as it will go; then tighten it up with an allen wrench. Tuning can be tricky. I tune the strings up using harmonics as close to 440 as I can. Once I do, I mess with the springs in the back (by tightening or loosening them) to get my axe in perfect tune. I only get 500 characters to explain this in...HAHA! Does this help any? Let me know.
I think he means to say, "when I try to tune it". He's from Greece. I suggest telling him to put some graphite on the headstock nut. That's the ticket, almost guaranteed.
Yes. Powder graphite. You can get it at a hardware store. People use it to put in door locks to free up the tumblers. If a guitar has a locking nut, it may not help, but worth a try. Other things to look for are a truss rod that is not properly adjusted and to figure out how the bridge works. If it is a floating bridge, it never really has a secure spot to lay its self down and guitar will usually never really stay in tune. I un float these types of bridges and that fixes the problem every time.
Everytime I try to tune my rgd320 to D the strings get WAY far from the fretboard. How can I fix this?
Please help!!

Thanks. This can be a good guitar when it's set just right. By "popping" do you mean you keep popping strings or the locks keep popping off?
