@Danthegamer2010 I'm surprised the stunt double was used there, since it looks like they did that fall in parts and the double was only needed for th actual fall, not the "covering the victim" part. I highly doubt they filmed the fall in one shot, unless the actor playing the doctor is also a stunt double and can perform his own scenes.

@magickelfgirl Matthew Gray Gubler hurt his leg (like sprained or broke it or something) in real life dancing or something lol. So he prob couldn't do tht scene with the running. Also throughout the episode Reid is always sitting and never standing, and in the next episode when he has a cast i'm pretty sure it's real :)

@lulu30003 You're absolutely right, I just found out about his hurt leg a few days ago and it makes sense now, it's a safe bet the writers even wrote that scene on purpose to justify him wearing a cast in the next episodes, though they could have chosen a better angle for the camera so the stunt double's face couldn't be seen :p

@BlakeAndGaile This is a bit of a late reply, but I THINK he touched Reid's leg first, which is how he got the blood on his hands, then moved to the other man and used a jacket to put over his wound, then when he went back to Reid it looks like he has the other guy's blood on his hands, but I don't think he does.

Yes. Matthew Gray Gubler damaged his knee cartilage severely during the filming of 500 Days of Summer. I don't know whether or not it was while filming a scene or if it was when off camera. But he could not do anything except walk until Oct 2010! He is on Facebook and there is a nice pic of him in the pool with his knee in a cast. :(

I'm pretty sure that the actor who plays Reid was injured at this point in the show, because that is definitely someone else at :44, and every time the character is supposed to stand, he moves as if to get up and the camera goes elsewhere.

That made this episode really funny to me (grave danger and murder threats aside).

@joranges14 Because actually shooting people is his last resort, and he seems to hate doing it. He averted his eyes after the L.D.S.K headshot, too. He really hates being the sole reason for someone's death or pain, and tries to talk the unsubs down peacefully instead of hurting them. He and Garcia are the least de-sensitized BAU members, but he also had a lack of empathy for a long time (that's a trait of autistic Aspergers' syndrome). He only started gaining empathy after the Tobias incident.

For all that the real-life injury was one of those silly, random happenstances (as real-life injuries often are), I think that having an injured and gradually recovering agent on the show adds realism.

The characters do spend enough of their time chasing criminals to not always walk away scot-free. And gravely wounded to suddenly better might be dramatic, but a moderate injury followed by partial downtime makes more sense.

I've been reading all the speculation about Reid having "a secret" this season. On IMDB, there's people saying, among other things, that he might be sick. There's even talk about hepatitis or something. Seeing this, i think that could be possible. That Burton guy mixed that other dude's blood with Reid's, which is a pretty bad idea. I don't know, I might be totally wrong, I just thought it was interesting.
