  • this sounds bad, good thing is your okay :D

  • U have just done medical students a huge favour uploading that. Thanks a lot mates. And I hope ur better.

  • I wheeze daily, but never this badly.

  • Were you just randomly recording a video or something and then had an attack or what?

  • that sounds awful

  • i have the symptons but i dont know if i have it or not....

i became out of breathe a couple times the last few days, and my parents smoke in the house, and we have german roaches....with the gas produces asthma... and if anyone can anwser my questions and tell me if asthma is life threatening?

  • @Wadeforce It can be if it developed into status asthmaticus which is a very severe attack. Go to a physician to see if you have asthma. In that case depending on how bad it is you are counselled on what causes it and how to avoid triggers and irritants, and according to your severity you will get an inhaler to use either as needed or both as needed and on a regular basis.

  • @doctaGeorge yeah but my attacks are nothing like this, when i have it im not out of breathe, its just to the point where i cant breathe through my noise to get enough air, but my mouth

  • @Wadeforce Nurse here and yes, asthma can be absolutely life threatening. It can completely close off the airway making it impossible to breathe, and making intubation nearly impossible. Asthma should be taken very seriously. If you think you may have it, be sure to get evaluated by a physician.

  • Believe it or not, I appreciate you posting this video a LOT. I don't like that you had to do this, but I realize now that's what my son goes through on occasion. Thanks for letting me know what it sounds like.

  • Oh geeze...that must have been a bad one !

  • and my friends used to laugh when i had once an asthma attack...

people who don't have asthma don't know how hard it is having asthma..

  • @jcruz7867 well that was mean of them >:(

  • @jcruz7867 My grandma has COPD, so I hear this every single day. It makes me sad... :( I'm just listening to breath sounds for my Paramedic class.

  • i sound like my kitten when i wheeze... O.o

  • Thanks for putting this up. I always wondered what an asthma attack sounds like.

  • The Buteyko Method is a drug free breathing method that eliminates asthma symptoms without side effects. Buteyko Center USA is now offering a free download of the Asthma Cure Manual until the end of August, 2011, don't miss this opportunity! Visit Buteyko Center USA online to learn more about this technique or call at 1.800.520.3450, breathe gently!

  • from watching this video i'm now scared to even breathe.. poor thing sounded like they were crying :(

  • @razerburst She was probably crying...I have them too and it is the scariest thing when you can't catch your breath. Can make you have a panic attack. Then, having to hold your breath after taking a puff of your inhaler can make you have a headache.

  • Poor thing Dx

  • This is like 1 missed call, The Exorcist, and Chain Saw Masscare :O

  • OMG I KNOW WHAT IT IS :(

  • the exorcist but not as scary!

  • I've had a asthma attack when I was younger. Now whenever I yell AND run around too much at the same time, I start to wheeze at night. Quite annoying because whenever I exhale it feels like I can't get something from the back of my throat. x_x That's why I try not to scream and run alot because I get a short breathed cause of my asthma :(

  • when you sound like this ..(I know I have asthma) you are at great risk for having a major lung shut down.......I get in my car and go to the ER as soon as possible.......

  • ohhhhhhhh god damn i hate this sound espacilly when its happen to me in the middle of the night

  • @fuzzyfurcutest99 so do i i sound like that kindof

  • listening to this breaks my heart .a friend of mines has asthma thanks to second hand smoke it makes me so sad that she has to go through this

  • Listening to this almost gave me a asthma attack.

  • Dude, you sounded sick!

  • I appreaciate you uploading this, distressing as it may be

some of us have to be acquainted with these sounds to prevent tragedy

  • obviously pretty bad sounds. but as a medical student, this helps...

  • So the wheeze is on exhale...interesting. Thanks for being thoughtful & brave enough to record it.

  • Sorry don't post much and looks like I went too far, lol

  • sounds fake to me! I have asthma and thats not how I sounded. You can't really fake an asthma attack sound.

  • @tkdblkbltin2009 everyone sounds different to be fair. whether it is real or not i dont know, but like i said no one sounds the same. i have severe asthma and dont wheeze at all

  • @tkdblkbltin2009 Uhm how can you fake wheezing? It's pretty hard to because no one would never WANT to wheeze. That stuff is annoying D: (I would know cause I have asthma)

  • @chibixcandy I know you can't fake wheezing but I don't think that's asthma it's sounds like another lung disease like COP

  • @raypsi ...D

  • sounds fake to me! I have asthma and thats not how I sounded. You can't really fake an asthma attack sound.

  • I suffer form asthma too and that sounds forced, plus who thinks in recording themselves when having an asthma attack. Forcing your lungs like that can hurt you. A real wheeze does not needs to be forced

  • Man that's horrible :( Sorry to hear. I've been smoking pot for about 8 years now and just quit recently. I was doing great in January, best I've felt in the last 8 months. 2 weeks ago I took 2 hits and my shortness of breath is back. I've been running but it feels like something is stuck in my throat/like the left side of my airways are closing. I really don't want to see a doctor and pay for all those damn tests :( Also im 24y/o

  • Is there often bubbling sounds from in the chest with your wheezing?

Our doctor has not heard your child "wheezing" yet as it's come and gone but we hear more of a gurgle/bubble sound deep in the chest at times. So I'm not sure if that is truly wheezing or something else.

  • I have COPD and mine sounds slightly diffrent lol

  • Check out an Asthma survivor: Youtube "Pale Kid Raps Faster with Asthma"

  • i sound like this alot with my astma..i totally relate..

  • wow thank you so much - I am a medical student - and this pretty much clarified what wheezing is. "whistling sounds produced by stenosed bronchi - more pronounced on expiration. usually heard in asthma patients" just makes a whole lot more sense.

  • I have asthma and have almost suffocated from it, so I am allowed to laugh at this lol...it seriously sounds like a cat or idk but I was laughing pretty hard :) Asthma sucks so bad!!!! I can't even sing without getting an asthma attack and I have to take my inhaler a couple times a day which is really bad for my heart =/

Hope you can somehow get rid of your asthma

  • shit, last time i sounded like this was years ago, but this brings back memories

got asthma since i think i was 3 or something, so over 21 years now... tell you one thing, go train, try to walk, try to jg, run, martial arts, fight back this illness!

chronically ill people are in many ways weakened compared to 100% healthy people, but we are in even more ways stronger, because we fight day and night, and this fight makes us so strong! BUYA

  • fuck, you poor thing

  • damn i feel sorry for u

i have asthma too sounds like u have it bad,

    what brought this on?

  • Roflcopter

  • i also have asthma good for me im getting better but about 3 years ago i remember that i almoast couldn't take a breath and i almoast died the way to the hospital ...luckly it happened only once and i survived it now i don't have any problems. i see the video is old so hope you got better ! :)

  • i hv asthma too ........ went to the hospital yesterday........nearly died

  • I feel so bad for this person

  • Ew im sorry but this sounds scary and gross nothing personal really but ya i didnt know what wheezing sounded like im doing a report on smoking and what not

  • God Help you. I am so sorry you have to suffer like this. When you are like this, you are not able to catch your breath? Did you get light headed?

  • I'm studing nursing....and I had to do reseach about weehzing to know what it is....great video, very helpfull

  • sometimes thats normal even in non asthmatic people

  • same here! it sucks!

  • ohkay so i have a question...

i don't have asthmaa BUT i had athsma attack a while back, but no asthma ? o.O

  • i have asmtha too but i mine is more the cronic coughing but i sure can relate cuz when start i cant stop so much soo i loose my breathe and feel like i will never breathe again.

  • well i suffer from asthma and now lung desease but never would i have expected to find a real wheezer on utube lolol now thats some thing differant

  • sometimes when i run in the morning, my asthma gets bad and i have to slow down or rest. my wheezing sounds really fucked up when i force air out. it sounds like some crazy ass loud vampire demon thing.

  • i have astma to when i was born i had a huge astma attack

  • VERY REAL

THIS SOUND TO TEACH MEDICAL STUDENTS

  • @drjob111 AND new nurses!

  • Rookie EMTs and future ones . This is a true emergency ! ABCs , O2 , assist in breathing . Call for paramedics to intercept .

  • I apologize for laughing my ass off

  • @jwktje that is not funny people can die because they cant breath

  • @crazybeavers155 I know that.. I'm not proud of it.. But i lol'd a bit the first time i head it..

i don't anymore. My cousin has got asthma and i've seen him have an attack. Its pretty grim. Thats why i appologized in advance

  • who the fuck videos themselves having an asthma attack

  • @NatalieHill1992 wel natalie, i agree

  • @NatalieHill1992 jajajaja

  • it's fake

  • is this how wheezing sounds most of the time or can it sound different

  • my doctor said that there is some short of a problem with my lungs that might turn into an asthma if i dont quit smoking. well, as a conscious patient it crossed my mind, since there wasnt any kind of biopsy or something, that i might suffer from a cancer. i searched for the sumptoms, and although there werent any sufficient evidents i realised that some of them were linked to asthma and that i had a problem with in a small level. i do smoke for about a year, is this possible? cancer?

  • It is probably not cancer, but if you have a congenital issue affecting your lungs, it's not the best idea to worsen it. Asthma is bad enough, much less cancer! I smoke and developed bronchitis for the first and last time. I won't willingly put myself through this kind of pain and discomfort again :(

  • EEEE!!!!! OMG...... that's so scary.....

to think that you're suffocating without anything preventing you from getting the air you need except your own body.... *shiver* damn I hope you were ok after that!!! :(

  • oh thats scary

  • OMG it sounds bad! yesterday i had an attack i was really scared! hope you´re okay :)

  • Whenever I get a cold I get wheezing. I DO NOT have asthma is this normal? Its been like 4 days with my wheezing. But its very VERY mild. And when I cough mucus comes out and that helps my wheezing a little. Am I ok?

  • I'm NOT a doctor, so don't take this as medical advise. That said, I've been living with asthma for over 20 years, and I know from experience that asthma can be triggered by colds, flus, seasonal allergies, and many other things. Basically, anything that can irritate your airways can trigger asthma. I'd make an appointment to talk with your doctor about your wheezing, just to be safe: Many people who have asthma only get symptoms when they're sick.

  • hey ive been living with for a while now also..i ran out of albuterol and i need to know of easy ways to get rid of a astma atack without it...i know different people have different techniques of getting over it..right now my only solution is to stay awake all night until morning hits and the warmth of the new day helps me sleep..but it sucks like you have no idea. it hurts so bad...well you probably have an idea...

  • Oh, I also remember reading something else. Have you checked to see if you have a pinched nerve? Those things can be responsible for everything from sciatica to allergies and asthma. Find yourself a good chiropractor and have them take an x-ray. Have the person pay special attention to the nerves leading to your lungs. If they do find something, please keep us updated

  • wow...a pinched nerve? like any nerve at all?

  • @majinbu32 ive been there.... fcking sucks so bad ... the best thing i can help you with if your a smoker like me camel crush and crush the menthol of the ciggeret other than that if your not lay out side near a tree with hot coffee/tea then try not think about it or breathing exersices breath out your nose and out your mouth/meditate or get distracted with something that would get your mind off of your asthma/breathing=shooting games or racing games.. well its wat helped me in the past idk now

  • @nscangal true! my asthma is also triggered whenever i'm having colds or coughs every rainy or cold seasons. also, don't ever lose you're inhaler again. always keep it beside you. its your life line for every asthma attack :(

  • Actually, the textbook definition of asthma is "reversible wheezing". If you wheeze every time you get a cold, and this wheezing goes away when the cold does, then you have asthma. Even mild asthma is still asthma.

If the wheezing bothers you, go see a doctor. All you might need is a fast-acting inhaler you can use when you have the occasional cold.

  • @Trypaw44100 yeah it normal because you have a stuffy nose with the mucus blocking it. and mucus has holes in them making them whistle causing you to wheeze. And when you cough it's not mucus it's Gonk I had that before it's greenish and make your throat feel clear after a while.

  • I thank god everyday i dont have asthma this bad, i guess you could say i just have a constant constriction, its not really weezing but just cant run very far.

  • I sound just like this when Im having an attack

only with coughing and breaks in between where i CANT breathe

  • omg thats scary

  • mine is usually much worse., sometimes i cant breathe at all, and it sounds like screaming kids when i wheeze

  • unfortunately johalieb in an asthma crisis if i inhale too much or exhale completely i start coughing and throwing mucus

  • just sounds like someone milking a mild wheeze[for the recording]. why go to ER?? when all you needed to do was cough and relax for a minute or two. All i hear, is someone making a scene over a bit of a wheeze. The amount of people that actually suffer from this badly, and then you have some kid trying to get a sympathy act over a little tight-chestedness lol, ridiculous to say the least. A bad attack sounds nothing like this.

  • That sounds...uncomfortable. Are you okay? I always have my inhaler so I wouldn't know so what happens in the ER?

  • Just wondering if you don't get the rescue med, will it eventually recover, or will it exacerbate to much worse?

  • if you don't get the rescue inhaler, it could exacerbate or get better. i think it depends on the intensity of the asthma attack. like i had a minor one and it lasted for 2 days. i just got over it today. but if it's really bad i think it can lead to coma or death. if you get over it without medication, i think it is a possibility that your bronchial tubes (the tubes that connect to your lungs) can get inflamed and cause pneumonia or other bronchial infections. but im not a doctor so...

  • yes this is the exactly sound does when i asthma attacks me too :(

  • LOL you woul drecord yourself having a asthma attack

  • I've been wheezing lately and throwing out a lot fo mucus... does that necessarily mean that i have asthma????? please let me know!!!

  • if you have trouble brathing then ur likely to hve

  • god that sounds terrible

  • i have asthma mine is bader

  • is bader a word?

  • I have asthma too it really sucks when your doing something with your friends or sports and have to stop cuz you can't breath... I have to do that all the time I have had asthma sence I was born and I am 13 but after a while you get used to it and that's how I became a great althlete

  • that sounds really bad!!!

    i hope u´re ok now

  • I wish i can hear my wheezing i hate when people blame me about my loud breatheing

  • gosh i know what u go through i had asthma since i was 5 it sucks.. u cant breathe or anything. u feel like your going to die

  • Oh man, do I feel for you! That was bad! I'm also stuck with that stupid ailment, but compared to you, I'm lucky to say that I've got it easy. Courage, my friend, and take care.

  • i have terrible asthma it sucki'm a fast runner then my asthma stops me

  • i hve asthma sooo badly that one time wen i was having an attack whenever i would breathe in my whole stomach would go in and the doctors said that i was out for 4 days straight without moving or anything..

  • Oh god, that sounds scary! I almost had it coming when I accidentally drank something while laughing(my mistake) and for the first time, I was wheezing, which was very similar to yours) only that you had asthma, and I didn't. Next time, I should be more careful in the future. I mean, listening to it brings frightening reality.

  • !¡Sufro! ! ¡Tengo asma! !

  • i truly know how u feel.i am just wheezing right now.i hope i don't go that far.like u r right now.and the inhaler never works.Take care.

  • im afraid of that it looks like the person cant breath

  • i now hav 2 b on oxygen 24hrs a day 365 days a year i cannt even get out of ma bed 2 walk 2 the door coz i collapse and just stop breathing just like that and plus i am on 16 inhalers an oxygen machine and 2 nebulazers they think i may need a lung transplant its that bad hope not tho and hope u dnt get it 2 often eithre stay well

  • WHAT! so u can't do anything fun? im just shocked thats all

  • yup but its improved a little im pissed off with ALL THIS i hate fukin asthma dont ever get it as bad as me

  • nuttall14, i have asmtha REALLY BAD (last checkup doctor said that im about 50%), and ive had a collapsed lung twice, i have to go to the hospital alot. I dont mind it at all, i play soccer and am on varsity. Asthma is not a restraint to me, I personally am happy i have it. it greatly helps me by making me endure in sports. It gives great mental strength.

  • although i have to be very cautious and aware of my breathing that just makes me more focused in school =), idk though, i might just have a totally different perspective then most people though.

  • hii... i have asthma 2... and instead of thiz bone head person tapeing u the should help u get more air into youre body......

  • i get like that sometimes but i have not been diagnosed with asthma

  • why not

  • really? then I think you should

go to the doctors to get that checked

out. It could be really dangerous. That

happened to me. I had my first attack in

3rd grade but my parents thought I did it

for attention but then I got another really bad one in 9th grade and ended up having to go to the hospital. lol my point

is go get it checked out.

  • this video brings back memorys. ive had asthma for a very long time, it got worse every year, ive been taken out of school so many times, ive been takenout of school 3 times by the ambulance. its horrible, its like your drowning and your trying to breathe but you cant!

  • mom don't know if i have asthma because i tried to tell her once and she never listnined and i donmt no if i have it because my mom wont take me to the docter

  • i ment dont srry

  • thats y i always take my asthma pump with me

  • aaaah terrible, I know how did you feel

  • All too familiar with that. Don't allow yourself to suffer like that buddy. Every time you have an asthma attack, it causes damage to the lungs. Work with your doc. and take your meds! Avoid junk food! Exercise!

  • Hi everyone... nice to have all of your responses,i know asthma's just sucks.. i've been having it since really young. But guess there are many people who knows the way I feel :)

  • wow

Yea hospital time for you. Take care of yourself I always have a inahailor on me AT ALL TIMES. Trust me I have seent he worst end of it dont take it lightly.

  • @geekwahr always keep you inhaler around please. my sister had an asthma attack late in the night when the both of us are in a vacation together.

it was pretty scary. learning how to take care of yourself is also a way of loving those who you love. ^^

  • @geekwahr I feel your pain, I sound just like that too! Especially during seasonal changes and more so during cold seasons like winter, and nothing can help me not even my inhaler! Whenever I get attacks like yours, I just want to die! :(

Wondering if your asthma has improved? If so, was there something that worked? Some people swear by Singulair. The one that I've tried recently is QVAR and I feel optimistic about it... too bad it's like $150/monthly for it!

  • @geekwahr Also, just curious what triggers your asthma attacks the most?

So sorry to hear you've been experiencing this since your childhood, at least I've only had it bad for the last 4 years!!

  • Umm, hot water people, duh.

  • i feel ur pain i have asthma and my doctor me that imma be on medication for 5 years i take Symbicort , Albuterol, and Singulair

but still b4 i found out that i had asthma i was rushed to the hospital because i just stop breathing and i was rushed to the ER. Take care

P.S. My wheezing sounds jus like urs

  • horrible.. i know how u feel

  • Hello... I just heard you wheezing through this video and I really felt sorry. I hope you are doing great. I also having an allergy to the olive tree that causes me such wheezing but no that nuch.

    Peace

  • i hope you feel better.

  • i have been in this situation many times i have attacks all the time and rushed 2 a&e and in ambulances

  • i have been in this situation many times i have attacks all the time and rushed 2 a&e and in ambulances

  • I just got a cough and i really need help to what it is a reallly cough cuz there is water in my thraot and chest when i cough i dont cough anything out just get rid of that fluid in my throat nuthing comes out out just a cough to get rid of fluid but fluid keeps coming back

  • i have asmatha too

  • hehehe welcome to the club :p

  • I don't have asthma but too bad asthma can't me cured. But to those who don't have asthma, they can prevent it... Oh and also to who are smokers, STOP SMOKING!!! I am against smokers.

  • Try doing Yoga breathing exercises. I'm asthmatic too. I do yoga and also I follow homeopath remedies. Consult a good homeo doctor and get ur medicine. Its slow but safest in long run. Use Beta agonist inhalers only on emergencies. Homeo does have some SOS medicines which could be used at the time of attack and that really helps. Take care Kid.

  • wow.. thnks for the info ;)

  • The last time I had an asthma attack, dont know if i should call it an attack cuz there was phleghm, and I used my inhaler but it didnt work at all

  • @govisteen homeo is such a scam.

  • @quosmo1 -- Hey I agree :) Homeo is good for nothing

I did an allergy test, found that its dust mite allergy, Now living better on Budesonide inhaler, anti histamines and Fluticasone nose spray

  • im kinda curious, umm is it that you can't breathe, like not get enough air, or is it that you can't push it out of your lungs?? or is it both?? (i don't mean to be offensive or anything, so if you're offended by my question, i apologize)

  • Well usually the 1st problem is hard to get the air out.. that's why when the attack start the wheezing is usually when I'm exhaling. But usually in about 3 minutes it become quite hard to inhale too... so due to an acute/severe attack.. it's both.

  • Yes it's severe. I had to take nebulizer treatments..

the triggers r pollen, cigarette smoke, dust, and some medicine, but also exercise induce.

  • What were u doing when u were having this attack? Lying down? Sitting up or wad?

  • Well.. while having this attack? sitting up and lean forward a bit, I found it to be the best position to still be able to get a tiny bit of air.

  • hottietan should learn from this when he tries to make another asthma attack video. in his video, he's leaning back in his chair which makes it harder to breathe.

  • that sounds scary is your asthma severe and what are your triggers

  • I'm 14..I'm canadian..but i live in singapore this past 2 years

  • omg...That sounded bad...lol

How old are u and which country are u from?
