Man , this song takes me to a whole new world away from all this chaos we live in today ... , this is one of those songs that i actually worship .... :)
This is my favorite NB piece so far.. and I say so far because I JUST heard 'Take Me There' again for the first time in like 6 years and uhmm... its close lol.
heard norman brown for the first time while listening to smooth jazz fm since then i fell in love with his unique style to bad lot of radio stations are gone playing this unique genre norman brown and all other smooth jazz artists keep on making art and help the jazz stay alive the world would be much crappier without it (also calling out for the amateur musicians not to give up on jazz everybody has a important role in it keep on groovin you guys!!!) greetings from Holland:)
Not that i am being disrespectful but the two people who dislike this composition so far, either have a very warped mind, are simply prejudiced, head bangers, got lost and stumbled on this category of music by accident, are vandals or worse, have no sense of melody. what a waste. i wonder what kind of people give birth and bring into this world such unpleasant characters !
I have the cd this cut is on and never really paid attention to the cut because i was focused on Better Days Ahead and Out'a Nowhere. Well I was at a traffic light, had just switched to this cd to hear it more and Bam! out'a nowhere comes this beautiful sound. I asked myself...Where you been? how could I have missed it. This is so smooth, so mellow...Its like walking through an open meadow with a bunch of wild flowers fresh picked for your lady.... or for the case of tomorrow, for Mother.....
I like Norman brown, he is good, he plays well, he is a good guitarist, I too am a good guitarist, and like to think that I can play well too, I like this song it is good, I wish i too could play like Norman Brown, he has been practising, you can tell, I need to practise more, this is nice to listen to. it is good, I am good
Go Norman!!!! I miss the jazz shows (Wind down Wednesdays) at Centininal Park in Atlanta. I also saw Norman in Tampa!!!!!!!!!!! Love this cut. Makes me feel like I need to be near the ocean. Just me and my beautiful wife.
This man knows how to reach you. He talks to you with his music and guitar! it is such a relief to hear great sounds such as his that come from the soul and reach the soul. My 6 track cd player in the car has 5 of his cds in it. Always listening to Norman Brown....
@atomicgeorge: Thanks, i had the pleasure of listening to this song amongst others whilst on a cruise in the Med with my wife this past summer. Smooth jazz will forever turn any pragmatic soul into a dreamer.
For some reason, this song reminds me of a long drive along an empty highway in the middle of a cold winters' night with the slightest hint of snowfall in the air. Pure serenity.
when i was little, my dad always played this type of jazz & as a young kid i couldn't stand to listen to it, but now that im older, i hear what my dad heard & i absoluty fell in love with jazz. im glad i was brought up on listening to music like this. this is true music!
When u Listen to Norman Brown music with your eyes close it's like soaring over Mountains and Clouds. Pure fresh air of beautiful Melody. of Music. He's absolutely the reason why i truly love jazz now.
@WOODYMACK66 Try siting on your balcony of a cruise ship watching the world go by with the sun setting over the ocean. You wonder how bad things can still exist in the midst of such visual and audio magic.
@WOODYMACK66 Well said Woodymack....true dat. I feel the same way too when I listen to Norman Brown's music and a number of other jazz artistes. Smooth Jazz relaxes my mind and takes me to another dimension!
@WOODYMACK66 This is what I love about instrumental music like smooth jazz. It can be interpreted differently by people. You imagine flying over mountains and clouds when you listen to this, but I imagine myself on a tropical beach. To each their own. Stay smooth!!
Norman Brown Takes your mind body and soul to a whole another level when it comes to jazz music. He's truly head & shoulders about the rest. Keep doin' whatcha doin' my brother.
I agree w/ GhettoKarter1992. This is my favorite Norman Brown song EVER!!! I remember buying all his CD's looking for this jam. As I recall, I heard this song for the first time on NY's CD101.9 (I surely miss that jazz station), while I was in my friends car who was a jazz lover. Thanks to him I fell in love w/ jazz as well. I love the bass slap technique on this jam. It keeps you waiting... Much props Norman. You the man!
Wow! what a classic. Mr. Norman Brown. One of my absolute best jazz songs he ever made. I always feel like I'm cruising when i hear this song. Wow! it's so good to hear it again.
