I use Mora knives, but I break them trying to cleave big pieces of wood. I guess I should find some big knife, similar to this one, for bush-crafting. I have actually thought about using an old lawnmower blade to make one
Dave, that is a very cool knife! I loved watching the video of how Jason made it too. Also, as I have mentioned before, I appreciate how kind you are to your family, this is in regards to the comment you made about Doo crafting the sheath for you.
We have been putting the vidoes on our channel for now since Dave has been posting as well. We will be putting some of our longer videos up there since we are limited to only 10 mins/vid on our channel.
All is good! Dave and I are heading out to California early tomorrow morning and will be back next weekend
That is awesome!! I am in the rocess of making a forge, and I am going to start mking knives out of railroad spikes!! After I master that, then I am moving on to files!! Thanks Dave for the info and inspiration and thank you Jason!!
wanted to say thx again to Dave for Having me, Had a really good time doing the video. So much in fact it got me motivated to start doing my own videos.
thats a great knife.i made a chopper patterned like the tom brown tracker .i forged it out of a leaf spring, its a good chopper to. i will have to try a horse rasp next. great video
try going to a tandy leather or S and T leather or the leather wharehouse. Also you can check google for any upcoming mountain man rendezvous in your area, some one there will probably be selling leather or at least tell you a local place to go.
I was hoping for a review on this knife. I know you are swamped with requests so I figured in due time it would happen. over all I like the style and usefulness of this blade, After seeing the video of the making of this knife I went to 2 Goodwill stores and found three files to create my own using a forge I built 9 years ago. Your videos are an inspiration and very helpful. The Eagle is a great bush knife, Looking forward to the making of my own! Thanks for another great video David.

That is indeed a great knife! So far I have only smaller knives, and a small axe on camping trips

I'm not too impressed. A dull brick would have done the same thing

looks like a strong well made knife. I like the idea of the file left on kind of makes it multi- purpose. Keep up the good work.

It looks like a good chopping and spearing knife

I saw your baton! I saw one on another vid having a shorter handle and longer club head. It was used with a froe.
That knife is nice! Too bad the US govt is all for banning knives.
