OMG I know some of those boys, they're in the Birmingham Boys Choir with me and they have such crystal clear voices, and it's a pleasure to know them, they're great friends and great singers :)
My wife and I have 2(a girl and a boy), David and his wife have 3 (2 girls and a boy), Beth has 3 girls and 2 stepchildren (girl and boy), Becky and her husband have 5 boys and Chris and his wife have 2 girls and a little boy on the way. So our family has GROWN!
We all live in very close to each other. My parents live in Trussvile as well as David, Becky and Chris and Beth lives in Springville and I live just over the hill in Clay.
I imagine your family dinners are a lot of fun. David and I and our families are here. Richard and his family are in Maryland, and Nick owns two restaurants in Orange Beach. We all just spent the weekend together here, and it was great to have all my brothers in one place for a while. Mom moved in with us after Dad died seven years ago, but her health is poor, so she doesn't get up with the kids at all. I bet your parents are in hog heaven with everyone close by!
Yes, our family dinners are great! I am sorry to hear about your mother, I was just about to ask about her. Please give her a hug for me and tell her that I will never forget eating those grape leaves with rice and something in them, I am sorry I do not remember what they are called, but I do remember loving them! I miss seeing the "Fawals"! It brings back wonderful memories thinking about your family. Except when your huge German Shephard got after me and scared me to death.
Wow! These memories are really showing our ages! That seemed so long ago until you bring it up, when it suddenly seems like yesterday. The grape leaves (stuffed with rice and lamb) are called warak. And the German Shepherd was Little John, though there was nothing little about him. You guys aren't far from the old Franklin Academy stomping grounds. We have friends in Trussville, and a few years ago I drove my kids by the school. Seems like we should have a Franklin reunion sometime!
I love the whooole Ritchey family! You guys are really sweet and amzing people! :)
