  • Sounds Awesome

  • in what key are you playing it?

  • @CyanideV Shamisen players tune randomly. So a lot of tunes in a specific key turn out in random keys when transcribed for Shamisen . unless the player happens to have perfect pitch, but even then, Shamisen players tend to adjust to a key that is comfortable for the string tension and fingering. for example something in the key of F# major would be too tight on the strings so would probably end up played in C or D major.

  • Death metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love playfulness. It's contagious =) Thoroughly enjoyed this.

  • that could be nice idea to play with these instruments but what about the tunning?

dont you ever get pain when you hear instrument out of tune or played out of tune.

  • Insanely cool.

  • cool guys, real cool...there was some homework in there !!

  • Cool but... It's transposed to B minor.

  • @DZAUDZI69 Yeah, but I guess that's how a Tsugaru shamisen is tuned for this song. Still good though.

  • @EvanWang999 Thank ya ^^. It's transposed to B minor, but I love it. I like playing it with my piano all the days. xD

  • どこで習ったのですか?

  • Love this guys

  • Totally cool contrapuntus on funky japanese twing twings !!

  • Very unusual, very nice.

  • suena horrible

  • suena horible

  • Stick to the Shamisan playing gentlemen.

  • WOW!!!!!

  • I confess too!!

  • Stop ... stop ... I confess to everything!!! To anything!!! Stop!!! Aughhhh.....

  • 'Mazin. GREAT VIDEO!! LOVE IT!

  • I used to think shamisen was cool till you guys showed up

I'mma learn the erhu or zheng nao plzkthx

  • We've already tried it on piano, though:)!

  • I tried to play it on piano just yesterday but I got distracted half way through and had to climb a tree just to get rid of some nervous energy.

  • That has happened to me, too! More than 748,930,224 times (a mere approximation) I've done just what you did, but for me it only led to glory and wretched satisfaction. That is to say, I need 5 bucks. Would you loan me five bucks, please?

  • everything is funny for a reason.

  • Without releasing me, would you try and go for a result that leaks (figuratively) the incorrect tents? That is to say,

under what year might we realize just who you are? Am I being unfair? We might point to the ugliest ground if we need to, so that's gonna be OK! Next, I'd like to settle our wager; "During the underworld, he NEEDS for what reason?" is my favorite quote. I win the bet, no?

  • what an intresting way to play bach music but plz try it on piano it sounds better

  • how about harpsichord because you know Bach thought that the piano was a hunk of junk.

  • OMG...RIDICUOLOUS...

  • astonishing !

Bravo - both of you hit the point. Bach would have been amused. Marvelous playing.

    5*****

  • i was learning to play this song on the piano. but i never got the chance to finish it because i lost the notes to it years back. D: but now i know the name of it and i might pick up on it again, man ou guys play so awesome <3 i love all your songs !

  • Very cooooool, you did a super job!

  • It's amazing how Bach comes ACROSS - REGARDLESS of the intrument.

It's like he found the CODE of Music itself.

Nice work guys - should be interesting to hear some well-tempered clavier pieces too.

  • Where i can find the tabs of this for guitar? e.e

I know a part and my teacher of guitar said me that i have to download it and i can found it anywhere! T____T

  • Google for

    "bach invention 4 guitar tabs"

    you'll fine a site called ultimate-guitar

  • i can play the 8th invention but on guitar

  • Bach sounds good on ANY instrument, haha!! Well done!!

  • sweeeeet

  • 'hm....I want to do it again" hahaha, cute

  • This is awesome, I want some buddies like that to rock out with to Bach, me on piano, then we have two voices plus a third and forth of the same two voices, so more power.

  • xD 5 stars soo funny!!

  • these guys are so good, but the instruments themselves produce much more unwanted noise than the music supposed to be played.

anyway there is no doubt bach is mad cool, and this piece sounds the best at a harpsichord.

  • LOL

I play invention no 4 at piano!

    but this is soooooo funny!

  • bach is cool and all, but the instrument just doesnt sound too pretty to me.

  • I know what you mean, musicalmichaeltran. I never liked the shamisen when I was younger. As I got older I began to get a feel for the music and was exposed to (corrupted by?) the new California Shamisen music. Now I'm thinking about digging up a lot of money and learning to play.

  • Corrupted by??? HA HA! Can we quote you on that?

Hey please post some more vids of your new wooden shamisen whenever you get some freetime ok?

I`d love to see/hear how its coming along!

  • You may use that line as your own if you wish.

I made a solemn oath not to inflict my music on the public until I learn at least one song. I'm working on Waido Bushi, but it takes time to get started.

This morning I was thinking of how "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" would sound as a tsugaru duet. Have you considered that one?

  • that's bloody cool

  • MAD KOOL!!!!!!!!! I love it!

  • I like this, do some more stuff.

  • Thanks for the comment. If you want more just look! We have posted over 300 videos of our Shamisen adventures! We have covered everything from Heavy Metal to classical to movie theme music on the Shamisen. check it out! (Monsters of Shamisen)

  • this song is good because it doesn't have any chords. makes life easy (I LUV BACH!)

  • in the original version there are chords, played by basso continuo

  • I play this song on the piano and believe me there are no chords

  • harpsichord is an instrument

  • did u research that just now on wiki?duh? seriously... T_T the piece has no particular chords.

  • you dont understand what im saying or what pacco78 said. pacco78 never said anything about cords he/she said that this piece sounds better when played on a harpsichord wich is an instrument sort of like the piano so yes... "duh" and "seriously"

  • No. It's a "2 voices invention". It's just a melody and a counterpoint. Period.

  • Fantastic !!!

    You have Japanese spirit.

    とても良いです。

  • "I wanna do it again" LOL! 5/5

  • Well done!!

  • Haha, this is awesome! I'm playing this song on the piano, but this sounds much better.

  • Cosmical! Can't find another word for that great perf. Thanks for sharing. The veil on Shamisen music is partially lifted.

  • Bravo! Very soothing. I know J.S. Bach is happy!
