Went to Bulgaria for my hols last year, there was a tv channel dedicated to this type of song, complete with dancers usually insome lovely setting, on a hillside or mountain.I can remember wishing I could play tunes like them on my banjo,, but could never figure out the timng or the tune.s So Yahoo Im of to check the tab on banjomeetswworld, thanks for posting it

my bulgarian friend lent me this cd of trad bulgarian stuff and i totally recognised the tune from it when i saw this video. it's sweet!! i love the bulgarian stuff, and the sweet compound rhythms, and marvel at how you clawhammer it. i digg your myspace too, it's hilarious. cheers!

Thanks for your kind words! I first heard this song when I was a teenager and it has been one of my favorites ever since. And I'm glad to hear that you got the joke on the MySpace page. I had to add a disclaimer when I discovered that people really believed the banjo was a traditional Bulgarian instrument.
