  • Whatdo you do to keep out the mozzies? I doubt the fire would be sufficient, Would be great ifthere was some sort of no-see-um you could hang inside

  • What brand do you recommend? How do you stay warm in the rain with no fire? Do you protect your fire pit from rain at all?

  • What is the apex? when you are starting setting up the pole. Is it part of the tent?

  • can you make a similar set up using just a canvas tarp? i want to be able to take just a tarp and have a shelter configuration that enables a fire to be lit inside like a teepee..

  • Where is the pack horse?

  • There is no horse but the canoe is about 30 yards away.

  • thats a cool tent, like a teepee but sqaure inside!

  • Do you always carry that heavy hammer in a back pack with you?

  • @urkingod He hit it with the back of his axe.

  • How does the pole just stand up like that? I would think it would fall with one finger push.

  • were did you get the tent. or did you mention it all ready. thanks. great video BTW.

  • You can get the tent at our website.

  • thank you

  • nice, thanks for sharing!

  • just tie the top of the roof to an overhead tree branch, dont even bother with that tripod that can fall on you in your sleep.

  • I have to assume you have never set up a tent of this style before. The bi poles are rock solid and will not fall in wind, rain, snow, or invasion of baby raccoons crawling up the poles. The rope over a tree works great if youre camping in a park but try finding that ideal spot in the NW woods.

  • lol the tree branch is more likely to fall

  • where do you get those at

  • Hmmmm, thats a cool setup with two poles..... those things are not common in my neck of the woods.

  • excellent vid......wicked tent...... thanks for the upload.

  • don't bugs eat the crap out of you?

  • Nice setup but I would need a mule train to carry it:-) Thanks for the great demonstration...I look forward to more of you filming in the woods!

  • This is no hiking tent. I use it on long canoe trip with 2 or more people and winter toboggan trips, but a mule train would work too.

  • hi u got to get off the ground for sleeping

  • Great video! I would venture to say that you make quality videos. can you do one on your camp routine? do you camp in winter or mostly just when out on the water?

    Thanks.

  • panther primitives makes a similar tent they are awesome especially on a canoe trek. 5*****

  • Wrong flatlander, the first thing you do is determine which way the winds gonna blow so you dont get smoked out or burn your tent down in the middle of the night.

  • OK Jeremiah Johnson, that little "tidbit" would be a part of like he said, "determining where your fire is gonna be". Besides, anyone that has spent any time around a fire, as I am sure you have, Jeremiah, knows that wind direction will change from minute to minute let alone hour after hour.

The guy has put out a a nice little tent video here. Go be a smart/dumbass on some liberal minded, conspiracy theorist, Bush bashing site.

  • most pyramid tents I have seen, have a hole front door. Did you purchase this tent (if so where), or make it?

  • The tent in the video was made by Tentsmiths. I also have a custom made pyramid tent from Dave Ellis Tents with an open front in 8oz. canvas. I can send pictures if you are interested. Just go to my website and shoot me an e-mail.

  • Good grief. That pack set-up looks like it weights 100 pounds.

  • The pack and wannigan together was 65 lbs. for me and one other guy on a 10 day canoe trip.

  • Is that a Tentsmiths tent?

  • Great tent, great video, nice one mate

  • That's a really nice video. Is that a 7ft tent?

  • Thank you. It's an 8 1/2' x 8 1/2'.

  • I like it but it doesn't appear to be a back packers tent.

  • No, you would not backpack that tent. I use the one in the video as my canoe camping tent. However, you can make or buy the tent in any material or size to suit your needs.

  • brilliant, always gone for tarps but thinking of changing now

  • You have definitely convinced me that this is an excellent tent. It's canvas so it has natural fire resistant qualities so a campfire in front at the door makes it also an excellent emergency shelter to keep in your vehicle. Thanks for a great video. :)

  • nwwoodsman, where would I find one of those tents? I am very familiar with wall tents, but that set up quickly and easily. Info would be appreciated.

  • good video!

  • great video

  • You make it seem so easy, but it takes experience. I'm finding it very hard to set up my igloo tent.
