I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings began to decline beginning with these episodes. I would imagine a lot of parents were uncomfortable watching an episode like this with their six year olds. Imagine trying to explain why Sully is licking Dr. Quinn's feet.

I think it's great that they made this relationship so real right from the beginning, including the friendship (well, it was more than that ;-) ), the fights, the good moments, the issues, the sexual tension, the family matters etc...In 6 seasons, we have love, wedding, and pregancy. Every once in a while they would have an episode that scare the daylights out of me... the woman and baby being burned alive in the blind school, the alcoholic guy's DT dreams with bats flying all over, Albert strung out on morphine puking into the camera, and the girl being raped by the creepy clown...

I mean could you even imagine Michael Landon doing such a thing? (Though he was sexy in his own way). I think the fact that Joe and Jane had been romantically involved at one point upped the intimacy level of those kinds of scenes tenfold. You really did feel sometimes like you should avert your eyes. But I loved to watch! LOL!

For all the people complaining about the "racy" scenes in this show...turn on HBO or Showtime and get back to me. If you all think THIS show has too much sex in it, well, take a look at some of the programs on either of those stations, and you'll know just how tame this one is.

Personally, I think "those scenes" made this show better. They're in love, and they're both gorgeous. Get over it.

How does the quote, unquote 'sex scene' in this episode take away from the family value of the show? They show nothing but a husband, massaging his wife's feet. It shows the love between a married couple. I would rather that be on television now than a lot of cartoons. People on youtube can be so ignorant. Give me a break, these scenes are tame as far as television standards go. Besides, violence is a hell of a lot more destructive than sex and it is violence that makes up the bulk of US entertainment. Cartoons and video games are chalk full of violence. So the show decided to show us what can only be equated to a blurry snapshot of what mommy and daddy do behind closed doors and all of a sudden the show is ruined? Sometimes I am still amazed by just how uptight this country really is. Good grief.

In a book the scriptwriter wrote this scene wasn't exactly written like that. Joe Lando improvised this sucking Jane Seymour's. It's a pity we cannot view this chemistry on the screen nowadays. It doesn't seem the typical series on TV at all.
